Melody had her own sense of fashion, elegance mixed with bright colored accessories and baubles, and as such she had to keep up with her pieces as she tended to be a little rough with them. She wasn't overly fond of shopping, but when she had no choice the blonde haired beauty had no choice.
Which is how she had ended up here in the mall trying to figure out which store it was that carried the goods she was looking for. But it was difficult with so many shops and colorful accessories that just called out to her. Even over the music of her iPod, the headphones blaring Swan Lake from around her neck. Letting out a sigh, a an hand gathered some of the long skirt she wore and off she started for another store.

Mili exited the shoe store with a large bag in her hand. It contained one pair of amazing boots. They were black slouch boots that rose to about her knee, and were extremely comfortable. This meant that her outfit for tonight was almost complete. All she needed were the finishing touches, and she made her way to a store that specialized in accessories to buy them. She wasn't exactly sure what she was going to get today, but she found that this particular store had jewelry, ribbons, hair-ties, and other baubles that fit for every occasion.

When Mili entered the store, a necklace with a large, roughly finished rock set in ornate silver caught her eye, and she made a b-line for the display case where it was.

Having entered the same store not too long before the blonde, Melody glanced around for anything that might just catch her eye. She needed new hair ties for sure, the bands in her flowers beginning to go and that made her sad. However, trying to find something that replaced it was difficult and with so many people just moving through the store was like trying to get through the halls of the school.

Which is likely how she ended up bumping into the girl who was on her way to the rather large silver necklace, which she had looked at herself, sending herself -at the very least- stumbling to the side with a shake of her head. "Sorry about that," she smiled sweetly, voice gentle and soft and likely hard to hear. Which wouldn't be the first time.

Mili turned and growled at the girl who bumped into her and distracted her from the shiny-pretty. "You should be sorry," she said in her usual off-putting tone.

Then, she noticed something. That girl's fashion tastes were simply divine! Her mood quickly changed as her eyes darted from accessory to accessory, secretly lusting each one. She spoke again, but this time it was almost like she was a different person, "Well, the store is crowed, so it's really not your fault you bumped into me." There was a pause as she thought of something else to say. "Besides, I was rushing to get a good look at this necklace over here. Have you seen it yet?"

Mili wasn't one to ignore a pretty girl with good fashion sense.

Startled at first by the growl she said nothing on the sudden mood change from the girl and decided to humor her a bit. After all it couldn't be such a bad thing and so far the day had been quite uneventful. Brown eyes glanced to the necklace and she gave another sweet smile.

"I have, though it's not what I'm looking for at the moment so I decided to let it be. It's quite lovely though." Just too dressy and more like something her mother might buy for her. And while not bad, she just didn't see her wearing it every day. "Though I think it might look good on you, from what I can tell."

A compliment! Maybe withdrawing her claws had been a good idea for Mili. But then again, who didn't compliment her? She deserved it.

"Why thank you!" she said with a bit of glimmer in her eyes and a wide smile that also shined. Her mind was made up; that was the piece she wanted to buy today. Mili walked up to the counter to have it taken out, but the woman there was helping another customer, a girl who was looking at a bracelet that really wasn't a good shade green to go with her complexion.

Mili turned away from the counter impatiently and addressed the blonde girl again, "My name is Milla, but you may call me Mili."

"You are quite welcome~"

She paid no mind the girl's impatience, it wasn't her job to school others on how to act despite how often others came to her for advice and such. Though she had been surprised that she had remained watching the other blonde as she had turned for the counter, usually she would have stalked off for now to continue her shopping. When the girl, Milia, turned around she smiled again.

"You have such a lovely name!" she cooed, though still her voice was soft and gentle, almost coaxing one person had said years ago when she started school. "It's quite a pleasure to meet you, Milia. My name is Melody." And with that she very carefully held her hand out as if for them to shake hands.

"It's nice to meet you too, Melody," Mili said as she shook her hand, and was allured by her words. She (obviously) had a soft spot for flattery.

With a twist of her neck, her head spun around and gave a loud cough into her hand while she eyed up the clerk. A few girls in the shop gave her a dirty look. Mili put her hand to her chest and spoke loudly and to no one in particular, "Must be this Fall weather... I think I'm coming down with something". Her words were dripping with sarcasm, of course.

Speaking like her "cold" went away instantly, she said, "so Melody, I haven't seen you at Crystal. What school do you go to?"

Blinking as she pulled her hand away and crossed them both in front of her as she stood. Hm, so this girl was from Crystal, for some reason that seemed to make since considering her self-important attitude. This was, however, the first girl from Crystal Academy she'd met, so perhaps those thoughts were a bit biased. And she wouldn't let that stop her from being friendly and perhaps making a friend.

"Crystal? Oh no, I go to Barren Pines. Which would explain why you've not met me before."

"Barren Pines? The school for 'gifted' students?" Mili made quotes with her fingers as she said "gifted". Okay, that might have been a bit uncalled for, but going to a special school didn't make one special. She had a passion that ran deep for her beloved Crystal Academy, and there were plenty of "gifted" girls there too. They just didn't talk about it in the brochure.

She did wonder what it was like there though, but decided not to ask about it. Something told her that having the mysteriousness that surrounded the school reviled wouldn't be any fun. Things are always a lot more boring than they seem.

So Mili shifted the subject, "Are you going to the interschool prom?" This was an instant question to find out how cool Melody was, because there is nothing more important that prom. It's the biggest social event of the school year!

Again she merely smiled, hands moving to fix the rings upon her fingers. The use of air quotes didn't bother her simply because she could understand the reason for them. Just because it was a school for the gifted didn't mean they were all gifted, but each one did have a unique talent that was all there own. Even those who shared the same gift.

"The very same school," was the soft reply, her eyes catching a set of bright colored hair ties in the shapes of stars. How perfect, they would fit in with her cardigan better then her flowers! Moving over to them she paused in her steps at the next question uttered from the blonde.

"Prom?" she turned. "Honestly, I would like to go but it really only depends if I can get a date." And at these her smile turned sheepish as a small blush colored her cheeks. "I'm not the type to go to such a big social event alone."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 13, 2009 12:57 pm

"I don't blame you," Mili said, "I wouldn't go alone either. In the past, I've gone with groups of friends." A gorgeous and fashionable girl like Melody would have no problem finding a date. She really had nothing to worry about. She watched as the other blonde fiddled with various things. She must have been a little put off by her brashness (as many were).

Mili turned her back to her and rested the palms of her hands on the glass display counter. It looked like the woman was almost done with her current customer, and Mili wanted to ensure that she was going to get helped next. She took out her credit card, and waved it around a bit like someone would wave a dollar at a strip club. She glanced over her shoulder back at Melody who seemed a little flush, and smiled.

Maybe Mili could help her find a date... or at least give her some sort of pep talk. Then she had a bit of an idea, "Why don't we pick out some jewelry to wear to the dance?" Maybe it will inspire you find a way to go."

"I'd go with friends but I think my friends all have dates..."

Urgh, why did this have to be so hard? She hadn't had to worry about prom before so why was this such a big deal? Worse came to worse she'd just spend her night locked up in her room practicing her cello. Like she did every other night that didn't consist of her making sure Grayson was still alive or that Andeon hadn't drunk himself into sickness, or even spending a little bit of time with Avalon. A mental facepalm, she needed to get out of her room more. She glanced up at the mention of looking at jewelery.

"Maybe that would be a good idea." A small nod to go with her words. "I know my mother has picked out a dress for me," she'd seen it all ready and approved of it. "It shouldn't be hard to find something that looks good with black."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 13, 2009 1:33 pm

"Everything goes with black; it's classy." Mili had yet to pick out a dress. She usually went with black, but she also didn't like to chance wearing something that anyone else was. Sure, with four schools attending the dance, that was hard, but she always made an effort. Father always shelled out the money to get her something truly spectacular, and she was sure this year would be the same.

Maybe if she gave him big enough puppy eyes he could order something custom for her.

Mind to the task at hand though: jewelery! The store had slot walls with jewelery hung on them in a orderly, color-coded display. Mili glanced at the necklace at the counter, and decided to help Melody pick things out and forfeit her place in line for now. She walked over to the section where all the black items were hanging, and started to examine them. "Are you a silver or a gold person?"

Of course, this was important because it is very faux pas to wear gold and silver together.

"Thankfully, otherwise finding jewelery would be much harder."

Giggling Melody found herself glancing around before following after Mili, who... had not bought the necklace yet? How odd. But she didn't dwell much on it and simply followed behind. She was much more of a follower then a leader anyway, definitely more support then offensive. Which was fine by her as not all strong people were leaders.

"I'm more of a silver person, if you can believe it. I have a tendency for brightly colored baubles and such on a daily basis but when it comes to formal fashions I prefer silver to gold." Strangely enough she found it to be too flashy.
