It was just another day for Auron as he stalked through the clearing. The land here had become boring once more and he felt the need to leave. He tilted his head to the treetops, not even a bird in sight. He couldn't shake this feeling that separated him from the rest of this world. But he would never admit he was lonely. He needed an enlightening conversation, or a passing nod, some acknowledgement he existed.

The stranger's wish would soon be granted as an unfamiliar cry broke the silence. A large shadow passed over the treetops, too large to be a bird. Twirling, the form soared high in the air as if enjoying the freedom that her wings gave her. Her acrobatics were soon to be over as she tucked her wings and plummeted to the lake below, a large splash breaking before the silence was once more.
After a moments peace, the jaguar burst forth from the watery depth, her maw wide as she gasped for air. Wings tight to her back, she began to swim toward the shore, a wide, wicked grin on her face.

Stunned at the sudden cry, Auron just stood by and watched. Silently he readied himself for a fight, body tensing. The figure landed in the lake near by and he eyed it warily. Finally the thing surfaced. The thing was a b'alam similar to himself, but this one, a female and horned. Not once did he budge from his spot in the grass. He stayed waiting to see if the femme was friend or foe, the malicious grin was probably a bad sign. His claws unsheathed themselves, slowly without a sound. Over the years of battling, Auron had surely become quite the master.

Dark Myst climbed the bank, her claws gripping the sinking ground. As her form came into view, her abnormalities were surely noticed. Flicking her ears, she felt the presence of another nearby. Her expression soon became wary, eyes widening. Going on the defensive, she extended her wings to their full length, dark eyes roaming the area, her body low, muscles taut.
She tried to concentrate on where the figure may be, her eyes immediately heading toward the brush. "You wanna come on out and face me like a man?" She taunted the thing, her tail lashing wildly behind her. "I promise I won't bite....too hard." A small smirk spread across her maw.

Its wings were impressive with such a wide span. He eyed the clothing on the b'alam. It was rare to encounter another so fully-clothed as he. The female taunted him, but only a fool would answer brashly. Auron was not a fool. The tension that had been running along his body dimmed, washing away. He calmly strode out of the shadows to greet the newcomer. Such an odd tactic but one that usually worked - confuse your enemy. He stopped well out of reach, a few yards, and sat down. He peered down at the female from behind his dark glasses. "What brings you here?"

Her eyes scanned the brush before the came into view. His appearance confused her. He was clothed such as she and had shades. She looked over at him from above the rims of her glasses, dark eyes meeting his. Her taut muscles soon relaxed as her posture changed from attack to more of a defensive maneuver. "What brings you here, and why are you stealing my fashion sense?" She quipped again, a playful grin on her maw. "But if you must know, creepy stalker guy, I simply wanted to have some fun. You know.. fun?"
It appeared this was going to be another Altair, all seriousness and no fun. What was it with clothed males and their issues? She flicked her ears idly still studying him.

Auron mentally chuckled as the female parroted his own question. Though he was surprised to hear he had fashion sense, it was a first. Most just avoided him. His high collar conveniently hid the small smirk on his face. His right eye squinted ever so slightly, mostly due to the scar but also from the smirk. "So what exactly is fun to you? Attacking strangers in the bushes?" He retorted.

Tilted her head a little bit at his sudden assault on her vocabulary. "Only if I'm able to eat them." She shrugged her shoulders idly. He didn't have to know she was inept at hunting, that was her own little joke. Her ears flicked idly as she came forward a little closer. "So, what's fun to you?" She tried to see past that clothing he had to get a better look at his face. "And why do you hide yourself?"

Auron blatantly ignored the younger cat's last question. "It depends," he said slowly, dwelling on his answer. "Before I would have said fighting but now it would be meeting someone new." He decided not to go into just how much blood-letting had gone on in his youth. Those stories seemed to scare off most. He strolled a bit closer, narrowing his eyes at the female. "I'm Auron, and who might you be?"

Arched her eyebrow idly at him, her head tilting to the side. "Fighting? So you were a fighter? Bet you were pretty B.A." She grinned idly. "Yeah well...in all truth, you're the second of my species that I have met. Imagine that?" Shrugging idly, her eyes went back to studying him. His glasses hid his eyes, but she noticed a scar line at the top of his head. The demon b'alam decided not to comment. It was his business.
At his introduction, she paced closer so that they were now a foot apart, her eyes narrowing back at him in a mocking glare. "I'm Dark Myst. Pleasure to meet you, Auron." She tried to mimic the way he said his name, tone and all. She couldn't help but give a playful smirk, tail flicking behind her. "So have you met anyone new recently then?"

Auron studied the b'alam. Her tone didn't go unnoticed. He would have ended their conversation right then and there but he was...lonely - for lack of a better word. "No actually. You're the first I encountered since entering this jungle. Are you new here as well?"

The female blinked looking over him for a moment a little confused. "Really? I thought it was just me.." Dark Myst stretched a little, her wings going to their full span and then retracted to her back. Her tail waved slowly as she came forward just a tad but to flank him. "Well...You could say that..." She kept her playful and luster, ears flicking a little. "What have you seen in this jungle?"

He watched the female from behind his glasses. "Other than a naive b'alam? Not much." He smirked waiting to see how Dark Myst would react. She was certainly a fiery one, and at some point during their conversation he had started to admire her for that. She reminded him of himself when he was younger...much younger.

Her eyes widened a little. "Naive? Oh how you wound me!" She gave a mock wail of pain sitting on her rump and placing a paw over hear chest, head tilted back as if in pain. Dark Myst then leveled her gaze upon him with a grin and a chuckle. "Well that sounds so boring. Why don't we change that?" Tilting her head, she leaned in a little closer, eyes gazing at him from atop the rims of her glasses. "But only if you're game."
