Exactly!!
I do this, as well. Human nature is to rationalize, and that means doubt. When you doubt, you compromise. When you compromise, you are not trusting that God can get the job done. Don't make an escape plan for God, just do it.

*nods* God will never give you a situation that you can't handle. Run into something sticky, telling yourself that, and and with his help you can get through anything.
