I just had an idea.... but i forgot it.......... now let me see. oh yeah, it was the importance of geneology.
How does that sound? or are there any objections, cause if there are I can find something else.

Genealogy sounds fine to me. I should probably be better with that, anyway.

Sweet.
So we know what geneology is. It's looking up our ancestors and all that fun stuff.
So why is it important? (in the church)

It's important because it helps us to understand where we've come from, as far as ancestry is concerned. Also, we can't be saved without our kindred dead. In saving them, and in doing ordinances and all of that, we're saving ourselves. Not that we should be doing genealogy work selfishly, of course, but let me tell you, it can get addicting. biggrin

Very good. Genealogy is done so that we can help our ancestors be saved. It is done so that everybody can have the chance to enter into the celestial kingdom. It is part of the "Turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and turn the hearts of the children to the fathers." Our ancestors are depending on us to fulfill their work thats them turning their hearts to us and us turning our hearts to them would be us actuall doing the work. so to make a big happy family it is important to link to your family like that.
What are some benefits from doing family history?

yes very true. it is also a way to get closer to your ancestors. I was learning about genealogy earlier and my teacher said, when you are doing the temple work for the dead you should think about the person and have a prayer in your heart for that person, and if you do that you will become so much closer to that person (even though you don't know them).
