Once upon a time, there was a green haired girl who refused to go to school. She was tired of the teachers, the students, the mystery meat that slithered off your plate if you were not quick enough to snatch it up. She wished there was a secret place she could go to avoid the horrid hours of getting an education and not get in trouble with her guardian at the same time. The young girl searched and searched, before she finally found of a place to go. A place called: the Sanctum. She knew nothing about it, besides the fact she had to land painfully on her bum with every visit. But it became her haven until she had to return home and lie to her father about the wonderful day she had.

Grazie went to the Sanctum every weekday hoping to have some fun and exciting adventures. The first couple of visits were delightful as she discovered the village hidden in the trees and the animal apparitions that haunt the forest floor below. However, as she became more frequent, the Sanctum earned the same atmosphere as the school she despised.

Sighing heavily to herself, Grazie kicked her feet about as she sat on the arch of a wooden bridge connecting two buildings together. She was breaking apart small twigs from a fallen branch and tossing them below to the ground beneath. Apparently, her gesture had earned the curiosity of a 'ghost' deer who nosed each twig she threw down. Eventually the deer took the time to look up to see the devious child that pulled her away from scavenging.

"Yo." Grazie said as she flicked a hand to the doe.

But the deer just bounced off back into the forest and abandoned Grazie altogether. Humming angrily to herself, Grazie picked herself up from sitting and began to cross the bridge to the other side.

"So boring..." she thought to herself, finding it would be much more fun to actually be in school rather than wandering around an area she knew like the back of her hand.

Something exciting had to happen, now.

((<=D I love her already <3))

For a brief moment the large patch of sunlight glinting down at the girl through a gap in the trees dimmed as something flew overhead. It wasn't one of the ghostly apparitions of the Sanctum; this thing was more substantial in mass than the like of those creatures.

With the lack of visitors to the Sanctum and nearly a whole world to himself, Nikolai had found himself being less and less modest with the passage of time. It was always so warm in the forest and plains there was no need of a shirt and his lower half had nothing more than shorts. His wing feathers ruffled in the wind and his hair danced to the tune it whistled.

Nikolai didn't seem to be in a hurry but he was flying rather low as he passed over the treeline and back onto the plains towards the remnants of the old temple.

[[ Hehe. :3]]

The sudden gust of wind broke Grazie's dread of boredom. Quickly, she jerked around to see a young male swish away through the canopy and set off towards an unknown destination. Blinking rather carelessly, she lowered her lids halfway as she followed in a slow trek after the male.

"Why is it..." she questioned to herself in a small mutter. "Why is it when I wish for something internally, it occurs? But when I truly want something out of simple want, it is never gained?"

Grazie shook her head dismissively like the fluttering vegetation behind her. She did not want to leave the verdant village but was quite curious as to find out where the other was going. Rarely had she seen others enter and exit from the Sanctum. Maybe he was returning to one or many who were also visiting? Or maybe she had just gotten lucky with some interesting company to stalk. She'd obtain an answer soon if she walked quick enough, for sure.

Flying the whole of the way to the remains of the Temple Nikolai alighted on the dillapidated pathway and made his way towards something. Nestled against the short wall of what remained of the Temple was a pressed down nest of sorts made of heather and moss which was where Nikolai was heading. As the Sanctum had never gotten too terribley cold he didn't mind staying out under the stars. It was oddly comforting to watch them twinkling in the middle of the night while his own haloing his head winked back almost as if in answer.

Sitting down on his make-shift bed, Nikolai began setting down the treasures he'd picked up on his flight over the Sanctum. A deformed leaf shaped like a cat, a crystal that glinted in the light of his stars, and a magnifying glass were only a small addition to the things Nikolai had gathered in his time in the Sanctum. For the time being, he didn't even notice there was another person in the world let alone one following him.

Across arching bridges, passed abandoned bridges, over tree roots and finally to a stop. Grazie had followed after the winged male at a slow pace but was found racing after him next. She found that her pace was much too slow compared to the boy's velocity. Breathing heavily after finally ceasing from her swift motion, she noticed the crippled remnants of what looked to be a temple, possibly a place of worship. But whatever the case, it piqued her curiosity and she drew closer.

When she was adjacent to the boy, she bent down and leaned over the objects he had collected, not even minding to mutter a small "Excuse me." when entering into his presence. Even more rudely, she stretched a hand over towards his possessions and drew up to her gaze the deformed leaf.

"It looks like someone chewed up this leaf and spit it out..." she said with a scoff, mostly to herself. "But that crystal is sorta nice, I guess."

Nikolai only noticed the other being when she was right in front of him; who was this girl? Stunned beyond words at her audacity, Nikolai only stared when she took up his leaf. Not that it mattered much as the boy hardly spoke anyway and his isolation in the Sanctum hardly did anything to improve it.

Grasping hold of her hand Nikolai shielded his other possessions with an extended wing. The only thing he had to give this girl was a very irritated look and that was after his shock had diminished.

Grazie glanced her eyes up, away from the object within her hand.

"Excuse me," she said in a brash tone towards the other. "But this hand does not belong to you. Mind if I have it back? Unless, of course, you'd like me to chop it off and give it to you."

Wiggling her hand to let the the strength of her fingers flex out, she let go of the leaf and let it flutter towards the floor. Grazie lowered her eye lids halfway and yawned carelessly in an obvious boredom. Sure, she had met someone else to play with, but they were hardly exciting and incompetently rude. Turning her head about, the bamboo herald tapped her foot impatiently.

"There wouldn't happen to anyone else here, huh?" she asked, "Someone else who'd be willing to play with me rather than just be oh so boring!"

Nikolai glared at the girl as he moved to collect his trinkets protectively. It wasn't that he was a hoarder of sorts but he certainly felt this girl would steal anything she valued. Turning to the task at hand, he started to wrap the items in his spare clothes to keep them safe from any grabby hands. Even though she asked questions he refused to give a reply as he went about the task at hand.

Grazie dipped her head forward, large locks of hair spilling over as she bent forward to see what the young boy was doing. He was clearly packing up, possibly to go somewhere else? Grazie 'hmmped' to herself. She was certainly not in the mood to do some more running, unless it was a game of tag.

Speaking of tag, the bamboo herald offered the idea. "Hey, you want to play tag?" she asked lightly, twisting her mouth for a response.
