Hi, everyone, and thanks for coming to this event (ADJUSTS MIC). You're not just taking part in a competition but you're taking part in a very special plotline in the shop -- from amongst you we'll be picking the rest of the Zodiac senshi (Pisces, Libra, Virgo, Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Cancer), a number of schoolkids, and possibly hidden prizes.

The difference in this competition, and I will say it here and now:

SCHOOLKIDS WILL DIE. THERE IS EVERY CHANCE YOUR CHARACTER MIGHT DIE. IF YOU ARE NOT OKAY WITH THIS, PLEASE PM THE MODS NOW. IF YOU WOULD LIKE FURTHER CLARIFICATION, PLEASE READ ON OR PM THE MULE OR ROSEMILK.

There are SIXTY-TWO of you ELIGIBLE FOR DEATH. Only SEVEN OF YOU can become senshi. We will be picking resurrected schoolkids (and any possible survivors) at the END OF THE COMPETITION, SO THERE IS A CHANCE FOR MORE OF YOU TO WIN SCHOOLKIDS.

DO NOT BE AFRAID OF DEATH. EMBRACE IT. STYLE POINTS WILL BE GIVEN FOR AWESOME, WONDERFUL, HORRIFYING, MISERABLE OR GENERALLY COMEDIC DEATHS. THESE DEATHS WILL NOT BE SET UP BY YOU, BUT YOU CAN HAVE A HAND IN HOW YOU ROLL WITH THEM.

Starting from NEXT WEEK, around TEN OF YOU WILL DIE EACH WEEK. There are TWO WAYS TO DIE.

#1. At the end of the week (each Saturday), the RP staff will pick the ten deaths.*
#2. There will be sudden death roleplays run by staff in which you have the chance to come out of it with WEEKLY IMMUNITY, or you DIE.

* You will either be given a scenario to RP out yourself in death, or we will set up an RP. We will probably announce only during-RP whether or not you will die; this is still up for grabs.

NOTE: STAFF CAN ENTER RPS AT ANY TIME TO SCREW THEM UP

We will be running the sudden death roleplays and other much in the manner of a dungeon master or a Choose Your Own Adventure story. We will give you a pre-planned scenario, and how your character reacts in this scenario will lead to their death or their safety.

THERE WILL ALSO BE CONSTANT UPDATES IN THE BARREN PINES NOTICE BOARD. THERE WILL BE RP GUIDELINES THAT YOUR CHARACTER MUST REACT TO. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES. ALTHOUGH YOU MAY ROLEPLAY WITH THE SHOP AT LARGE, PLEASE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE BARREN PINES IC AND OOC RULES, WHICH ARE BELOW.

Barren Pines is a school that's DEFINITELY ALWAYS BEEN HERE!!!, a prestigious high school for gifted teenagers that's also a boarding school. Students must board: there are no day schoolers.

Here are the OOC/IC rules.

1. There is a strange kind of force field around Barren Pines that prevents anyone from henshin-ing up or a henshined senshi from entering the campus.

2. Barren Pines students may not reveal the strange goings-on within the campus. Once they start to, they feel a terrible choking sensation that continues the longer they try to talk. They also feel this if they try to communicate it through writing. The choking sensation will overpower you once you reveal the truth, and you will die. Is there a way to circumvent this? Perhaps. If you are getting into a situation where secrets are being revealed, please PM the mule so that the mule can guide you.

2a. DO NOT HAVE FACE TO FACE RP PARENTS, OR HAVE CONTACT WITH YOUR PARENTS THROUGHOUT THIS RP EXCEPT IN LETTERS AND PHONE CALLS -- OR ANY OTHER FAMILY OR FRIENDS. YOU CANNOT MEET OLD FRIENDS WHO ARE NOT BP; YOU MAY ONLY MEET NEW PEOPLE

3. Once you die you are dead, though at the end of the event this may change. Please be a good sport and have fun with what this is, ie a bloodbath. We will be awarding people on CREATIVITY AND STYLE, not just how well they write.

4. Violence will be PG-13 level. If you are not comfortable with this please PM the mule.

5. If you do not partake in a roleplay per week, your character will be killed.
5.a. IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE ABSENT PLEASE PM THE MULE AS WELL AND WE WILL DISCUSS YOUR ABSENCE. IT IS COOL TO BE ABSENT, YOU WON'T NECESSARILY DIE, JUST TELL US BEFOREHAND.

ROOM LAYOUT

Every Barren Pines student is assigned a room number, which is also their own personal identification number along with the first three letters of their last name. Andeon Bostovic will become BOS-1. Arastoo Pymedegauso will become PYM-2.

Rather than have roomies, every Barren Pines student gets their own individual room. These rooms aren't quite as classy as the ones in Crystal Academy: they consist of a bed, a desk and a toilet/sink area. There are communal showers and toilets at the center of each floor. There is also a communal study area and kitchen for student use. The first room of each of three dorm floors (1, 33, 65 -- Andeon, Dagmar and Aracelia) serve as the floor assistants who pass on information to the custodians if something goes wrong or needs fixing.

The ground floor is the dining hall, where you are seated in the five dining groups which also serve as your "home" groups. There are fourteen students in three groups, fifteen in two. This is a new term, so the new home groups will be announced shortly.
