The last purse I bought was from http://www.target.com/. Well, an actual store not the website. But yeah. Target. Lasted me almost 2 years of every day use before the strap broke. Got it for like $15.

Aldo is my favourite place to buy bags. They are really stylish / not young nor old looking / many colours / styles / and always range from a 30-60 dollar price range. Though I have seen some expensive real leather ones for 100 before, but that's it.

If you look, you can find some nice ones at Ross. I got one that I adore for $15.

I got my current purse from Spencers for like $8 on clearance. It's pinstriped and has the Guinness logo on it. I like it. The one I was using before broke. It was drab green courdorou and also had a Guinness logo on it.
