Nicknames: Marcie if you really, really want to be punched.
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Fav. Food: Eggs. Scrambled, fried, poached, Benedict'd, whatever. Regardless of how they're cooked, eggs are tasty capsules of protein and cholesterol.
Hated Food: Ploppy foods like oatmeal, porridge, grits, mashed potatoes, etc. Basically any food that's in-between a solid and a liquid and makes a plop sound as it hits the bowl.
Gift: Boxing: Jab! Dodge! Cross! Weave! Uppercut! Every since Marcel got into a childhood scuffle with a friend, he's known he has natural fighting ability. Through years of training and coaching he has become one of the very best young boxers, and all but dominates the ring whenever he enters it. Though he's a fair strategist, and strong too, Marcel's real danger lies in the fact that he is fast; very fast. He seemingly dances around the ring while dodging his opponent's blows and swinging his own, simultaneously tiring and beating the ever lovin' crap out of his unlucky opponent.
Virtues: Work, Work, Work: Marcel is never one to shy away from hard, physical labor. In fact, he'd rather he do it than someone else, because they'll probably just mess it up. If you need a fence painted, furniture moved, a bear strangled, etc., just ask Marcel and he'll gladly help out, especially if you're a woman. It has to be MAN'S WORK, though, it can't be sissy things like cleaning. That's not real work, after all.
Good Sport: If there's one thing Marcel appreciates, it's hard work. A lot of work goes into boxing, and boy does he know it. If he gets bested within the ring, he will not whine and pout or lay down claims of foul play. He will accept his defeat with grace, and even offer sincere congratulations to the winner. He recognizes the fact that in order to beat him, his opponent must've worked pretty damn hard and Marcel himself obviously didn't work hard enough.
Honest: Really, this should be called “Sucks at Lying.” Because that's exactly why he's honest. The art and tact of successful lying escapes Marcel, and his lies usually come out as guttural words barely perceived as sentences. For this reason he's pretty much abandoned lying all together, and now tells nothing but the truth. Though sometimes the truth may hurt, it's always nice to know that you can at least rely on one man's words within the world.
Gentlemanly: Marcel's father instilled into him the thought that he should always, always be polite to women. It's all part of being a man. Yell, curse, and insult the men all you want to, but act next to godly to the ladies. Opening doors, pulling out chairs, lending his coat, Marcel does it all. When he sees a man mistreating a woman, he will fervently tell the man off. This can even extend into “fighting for a lady's honor.” Men are the strong ones, and it's their job to defend the females when they so obviously cannot defend themselves.
Flaws: bookz r dum: Reading, ugh! Marcel absolutely hates reading, writing, and pretty much anything else to do with schoolwork. He thinks homework and studying takes away valuable time he could be using to train for his next match, and only does the bare minimum. He's literate, able to read and write well enough (though his spelling is awful), but Marcel is a slow learner and needs to devote copious amounts of time to school to get good grades. He never does this, so his grades are always in the perpetual state between failing and mediocre, and sometimes just being an F outright. Recently he's been warned by his coach that if he doesn't bring his grades up, he'll be pulled from boxing until he studies more and gets better grades.
Mama's Maid's Boy: Before Marcel came to Barren Pines, he was the son of a rich business owner and his gold-digging wench of a wife. Throughout his childhood the boy had everything handed and done for him, mostly by the family maid, and now that he's almost grown and out-on-his own he has no idea how to do any of that domestic stuff. Cooking? That's what microwaves are for. Laundry? He usually bribes fellow students with cash to do it for him. Cleaning? Yeah, don't go into his room if you value your sense of smell.
My Moniez: Though Marcel doesn't explicitly wave his money around, sometimes he has trouble understanding that others likely don't have as much to wave. He has no qualms with buying overly expensive, flashy items just because he can. That super cool PX9000 computer with Blu-Ray player and a margarita machine attachment? Yeah, Marcel totally has that, and he wants to know why you don't have it too. It's only the hottest new electronic, and you need one. What, it's too expensive? Come on, it's only ten thousand! He's slept on beds more expensive than that!
Male Superiority Complex: As gentlemanly as he may be, Marcel still knows that men are stronger than women. It isn't a bad thing, it's just how nature made them! That's why there's a men's boxing league and a women's boxing league – what a stupid idea, women's boxing - because the two genders just can't compete against each other. Women are weak, delicate flowers and they shouldn't work too hard, lest they get hurt. Marcel knows that it is the man's job to embark into the world, work hard, and make the money, and the woman is free to spend her days being the pretty little thing she is. Marcel will scoff at any woman who tries to tell him otherwise, because she is sadly delusional. Sit down, darling, you're going to work yourself into a faint!
