Training....
Hawkpaw wasn't always over excited about training. It was fun.... sometimes. But at least it was better than patching the nursery. He had never been cold in there, but then again it wasn't this far into leaf-fall when he was a kit. But with all those kits in there you'd think it be more than warm enough.
Either way, it was not up to him. At least he didn't have to gather the brambles himself. Some warriors had done that already, and had even started the patching. He was assigned to work on it a little. With a sigh, he walked over to the end of camp where the nursury was and grabbed one end of a stick with his mouth.

Petalkit rolled over onto her side, and yawned, waking with a start. It wasn't night anymore. She slowly got to her feet, and stretched her paws forwards, yawning again. She looked around. Longshadow was asleep, and so were her siblings. But she was wide awake, and a little hungry. Longshadow had just started to feed them fresh-kill not to long ago. It was okay, but she still liked milk.
Her thoughts were interupted as she heard a noise outside of the den. It sounded like the bushes were moving. Petalkit dropped into a crouch and slowly moved towards the entrance to see what it was.

Hawkpaw could hear a rustling from inside the den. He secretly hoped that it wasn't Longshadow stirring. The queen could be of some help with the job he was doing, but he didn't really want to face her sharp tongue right now.
The sound didn't seem loud enough to be a grown cat though, so maybe it was one of the kits. He didn't know them by name yet. He had one visited the nursery once after their eyes had opened, and that was to bring Longshadow some fresh-kill quickly before training. Ignoring the rustling, he continued on with his work, hoping to be finished before sun-down.

Petalkit continued stalking forwards, trying to be as silent as possible. As soon as she was close enough to the nursury's intruder, she leaped forwards, reaching at the small apprentice's back.
"Who goes there, intruder!?" she squeaked in her higher pitched voice.

"What?" Hawkpaw was surprised at the sudden attack on his back, and spun around to see one of the larger female kits; she looked like her mother, aside from the eyes. "Um.... I'm Hawkpaw," he replied, unsure of what to say or do. "I, uh.... intruder?" he muttered to himself. He didn't have time to stop and talk. He had work to do.

"Yes, intruder!" She replied with a crafty look in her small eyes, "What are you doing here? This is our nursery!" This was fun. She had seen the older cat before out in the camp, but she could tell he was too timid to stop her. She started batting at his paws.
