After that embarassing event that happened, Sado decided that he was going to do everything correct. After determining just who he really needed to talk to in becoming a. Well, not really a members, but that was the best word he could come up for it. Anyway, after wandering around for a while, he was finally able to locate the male. The wing tattoos that spread across his back were something that Sado didn't see in anyone else, and it was quite incredible. The claw tattoos on the paws certainly made him think different, though, once he got a closer look.

Skan, on the other hand, wasn't too impressed. He was sort of a jerk with outsiders. He could never understand just why his father would let almost anyone join. Didn't they not want to repeat the stories of the past? Just the thought about his father twisted his insides, as it hadn't been too long since the old lion passed. Time would probably never quite heal that wound, though. His father had been an incredible lion.

"What're you in need of?" he asked, knowing that while he was already a bit biased, he was going to be polite to every stranger he came across. You never knew, it could be one of the lions that had just joined, and he didn't need to make the start of his leadership into one of embarassment.

Sado stopped quickly, wondering just why he was so intimidated by this lion. They were probably around similar age, maybe Sado being a little older (by a few moonturns, maybe). It must be the way he was holding himself; so confident, knowing that he was always going to hold this position. It reminded him of the times when he caught a glimpse at the royal family of the Pridelands. Something he would never reach, though he was certain he wasn't into the whole responsibility thing.

"I was pointed this way," he started cautiously, "by a friend's father. It seems I wasn't quite following procedure, though I do stress that I had an escourt through the lands, not merely wandering in on my own." Hopefully that would smooth any ruffled fur on his....one-lion invasion.

Skan raised an eyebrow, but didn't say anything at first. He knew what he should do, but why ruin the fun? Besides, he knew that his word wasn't last. It was just the first. He would probably have to check in with the alu'nadi of the clan, whichever one his 'escourt' was in. Assuming that he wanted to be in the same clan.

Geez. How did his father ever keep all of this straight? It was a nightmare just trying to think about all the possibilities of just this one single lion.

"May I ask who it was that escourted you across our lands?" he asked calmly, knowing that he pretty much had walked through the whole lands just trying to get to the mountains. Word can travel far, quite quickly. Especially with birds hanging around.

"Oh," he studdered for a moment, thinking on just what the beauty's name was. He almost flushed with embarassment about how they had done so much together and he didn't even know her name, until her father had come across them. Walking for a few marks of the day was certainly something if you didn't know your companion's name.

"Madoa," he said at first, neglecting the surname out of a lack of knowing how important he was. Seeing the other lion furrow his brows made him remember to add it on quickly. "Waya. Madoa Waya," he said with a slight bow of respect. Just speaking her name....wow. How he had become so starstruck from one lioness blew his mind. It was probably how exotic she seemed, him coming from a very laid-back pride.

Ah. Skan knew exactly who he was talking about, as he had met her when he was younger. She was....different. Interesting that she had decided to escourt a stranger, as she was normally so all over the place she probably would have forgotten just who he was after five minutes together. Still, perhaps she had mellowed out a bit, as it had been a while since he had last seen her. Things could always change, and he was learning that quite quickly.

"Ah, the Wayas, of the Wolf Clan. Interesting choice." He realized that he didn't even know the brown lion's name, though certainly he had to know his own. How else would he know how to find him? "I am Skan Kanati, by the way. Wandinasi of the Ela'wadiyi pride. It could be simply referred to as a leader, or warleader even, in times of strife."

Oh, yeah. Sado wasn't the best at exchanging names, but he had never been one that found it too terribly important. What really mattered was personality more than a name.

"I'm Sado," he said with a slight bow. "My homelands are the Pridelands, which are not too far from here. I was merely a hunter there, though I would be glad to offer my services to those that need it." He was a skilled hunter, learning from his mother the ways to keep alive in thin times. A small swelling of pride graced his chest, and he hoped that his mother and father were still fine back home. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Skan."

Skan nodded, knowing that he probably should have included saying Skan's last name as well, but he would let it slide. He would learn soon enough what was important and what was merely polite. At least he was getting somewhere, though Skan still didn't really want to trust him. Seeing that there was really no problem with him, though, there really wasn't much else Skan could do. He could turn him down, but he didn't need Asi, the Wolf alu'nadi, to determine why he had turned down the lion in case she knew about the subject. He didn't want to explain that he turned him down just because he didn't want anyone else in the lands. Didn't they have enough new lions already? Soon enough there'd be too many children running around to feed, and Skan was not wanting to be put in the position of leaving their new homelands or face starvation.

Resisting a sigh, he nodded in return. "You seem fairly certain of your resolve," he commented, looking to see if there was any faulter in that assessment. Seeing the lion not flinch at all, perhaps it would be all right. If only he could depend on his mother a bit more...

Sado's ears perked forward. "Really?" he said as calmly as he could, though a little excitement still escaped into his voice. This was going well! He offered his thanks in earnest, though he wasn't quite sure what to do next. Did that mean that everything was ok? Would everyone know that he would be fine to stay within the lands? Was there something else that he was going to have to do to prove that he was within the pride now? So many questions flew through his head, and he wasn't certain where to start.

So, since it seemed like most of those questions could easily be answered by others in the pride. Perhaps even Madoa could help him out. So intead, he kept it down to one, slightly simple question. "Is there anything else I need to do?"

"Yes," he said bluntly. "You need to check with the alu'nadi, the clan mother. That would be Madoa's mother, actually," he said with a huff. He could get into his own trouble with that when the time came. "You will just need to check with her that she is all right with you becoming one within the clan."

He didn't think that it would be any sort of trouble, but there were times when you could never tell just what anyone was thinking, especially a mother. A mother of a lioness that was never always there. SUrprised still at the fact that this Sado seemed to overlook that was disturbing, but he would overlook it. He had to. He was not going to turn into a brown-nosing leader. Let the alu'nadi handle it; that was why they were there. If he was the head, they were the limbs. The pride couldn't go anywhere without them as a whole.

Sado nodded in appreciation for the release of the information he would need to complete his task. It was intimidating that he would have to speak to her mother, but he wouldn't need to say anything directly to her about Madoa. Though, he did hope that she perhaps noit be present; he didn't think he would be able to hide a slight glimmer in his eyes when he thought about her. Enchanted, perhaps he was, but he was playing with the game right now. He couldn't quite help himself; she was beautiful to him.
