~:Skies of Arcadia based Roleplay:~
This RP is based upon the basic thought of the game: Skies of Arcadia (legends)
In the game, islands float in the sky and ships sail through the air.
Beneath the clouds that hang below the ships is a sandy world, but no ship that sunk below those clouds has ever come back to tell the tale what else lies down there, as well as the immense pressure would rip apart any wooden sailing vessels.
Along with that, ships cannot fly upwards eternally, the air becomes too thin to breathe.
Ships are powered by various colored gems, know as moonstones. Each color stone has its own power source.
The starting idea for the Roleplay is this:
The Islands:
Among the world, there are many islands scattered about. Some are inhabited, some are not, some form a nation together while others remain neutral or in control of pirate gangs.
The Vortex beneath the known world:
Islands float in the sky, where if one would look down, they would see a swirling vortex of clouds undearneath. below the clouds the pressure is simply too high and crushes any ship that dares venture below the vortex.
The 'Sky' & Moons
Above the islands, there is still a large area with normal airspace.
Also, among the skies where the ships sail through, less advanced ships (and sometimes even the more advanced ones)may have trouble sailing toward other nations by floating reefs or too strong (and sometimes permanent) air currents.
When people look up, they can see various moons. A red one, a green one, a blue one , a teal one and a white one. There are also rumors of a black one, only showing at night, but it has never been clearly seen or described.
Each of these moons are aligned to an element (Red for fire, Green for earth, blue for water, yellow for air and normal moon for light magic and the black one for dark magic.)
These moons occasionally drop Moonstones onto the world as a sort of rain. Its rare when it happens, but these stones are full of energy and can be processed to be used as fuel for airships and special magical amunition for said ships.
Ships, Fuel & so on.
Most ships are still made of wood, like the old sailing vessels. They use a special fuel to soar through the skies.(Described more a bit further down)
Some nations or ships however are crafted from metals these days, seeing as new designs and some new engines are powerfull enough to make these heavy ships stay afloat.
While these ships boost often more firepower and more defensive power, they lack speed to outmanouver the faster woodenships as well as that they no longer run with sails and are fully relying on their engines for mobility, thus they cost more fuel.
The element of the fuel doesnt matter for speed of the ship, but may have both a negative effect on the engine as well as an advantage of using in other ways.
The Magics of the world
The known magical energies of the world originate solely from the very gems. No person can use magic without these as a source to draw the energy from.
The known basic elements are:
Fire --> The red moon
Wind --> The teal moon
Water --> The blue moon
Earth --> The green moon
Light --> The white moon
Dark --> The black moon
(solely using light magic makes you feel like you are just, in whatever you do. And turn over a zealous path, slaying other 'non believers' , just as using solely dark magic corrupts the body and makes one go mad.)
Combining gems during refinement gives new possibilities:
Fire + Wind --> Lightning magic
Fire + Earth --> Metal magic (Rare, but gives ability to manipulate metal)
Fire + Water --> Mist magic. (Serves as this worlds steam power and grants abilities to hide)
Water + Wind --> Ice magic
Water + Earth --> Plant magic
Wind + Earth --> Gravity magic. (Even more rare then Metal)
The rare types of magic (Gravity and Metal) are rare due to the fact the refinement process is difficult and needs to be very exact. Any minor impurity or miscalculation and the fusion will fail.
Combining light and dark, or combining these with other elements has thus far always failed.
Only Meridia has somehow achieved fusing the light and dark elements together in some way.

Known Nations:
Elia, main Eastern kindgom, known for its samurai and ninjalike soldiers, old Japanese looking style culture. Uses water and air as main energy stones.
Westvalia, main Western nation, known for its powerfull iron and steel ships and powering these by fire and air based energy.
Sahren Empire, southern empire, known for mainly fire based energy. Mostly desertlike, with oasis islands.
Nafalen. Nothern empire, celtic like culture, using water as their main source of energy.
Centimus. Central nation, mainly traders and miners. Use earth as their main source of energy.
Meridia. United island group. Little is known about culture, military strenght, science levels and so on.
Its even unclear which islands belong to this nation.
Known Factions:
(These are considered not nations,thus brigands or military groups)
Silver Fang: Semi-pirate gang, raiding only warships of any nation but leaving normal traders alone.
These are pirates who follow their code of honor not to harm unarmed vessels.
Black Skull: Pirates, worst sort and lowest. Plunder anything, kill anything and so on.
Serpents : Pirate gang who do not kill anything unlike the Black Skull, their motive: if you kill someone, how does that get you more loot. Its better to let them escape and build up riches again so you can plunder them.
Bounty Hunters: A guild made up of assasins and bounty hunters who hunt down, by either capturing or killing, notorious pirates and bring them to 'justice' for their crimes.
Although their reasons may differ for doing the job or what methods they use, its mainly for the money involved.
New Dawn: Religious group, believing in some sort of god that will rise and bring destruction to the world, then to shape it a new in what they call their perfect world.

Lamyntas Merai, playing as Vyne, Leader of the Silver Fang.
summary explanation of character:
Vyne is a gunslinger, using guns that can be charged with magical energy of any sort. Energy determines what sort of shot is fired from his guns.
Vyne has silver hair and blue eyes with a light tanned skin. He is the leader of the Silver Fang, and has a 5 million gold bounty on his head in various (yet not all) nations.
He is unmatched as a shipcaptain when it comes to ranged combat with cannons. His boarding technique isnt all that great, but his cannons make short work of the opponents vessels engine and mast first , and may stun the crew, to immobilize them before boarding.
Also, playing Axiom.
Leader of Meridia. Little is known about this mans strenghts.
Axion was infused with certain energystonesç normally a very fatal thing to even try, Axion survived this experiment for odd reasons.
He has a hidden hatred for those who started this war, seeing as they were also the ones to do this experiment on him, to turn him into a weapon to incite the very war that is going on now.
While Meridia does not really have an army of its own, other then individual island guards, it was Axiom who got Vyne and the Silver Fang to raid supplies for his nation and serve as an independant army.

bounty hunter, Elia Nation
*She carries an assortment of weapons. Most prominent is the katana strapped to her waist for close combat and the hidden blade kept in her bracer. She is highly skilled in close combat situations and could qualify for an assassin rank but her dislike for killing keeps her as a simply bounty hunter. Tries to be serious, and can be most of the time but is extremely clumsy. Is fascinated with simple things and loves food.
Looks: Short black hair, rare blue and red eyes and pale skin.
extra: She keeps an energy stone of air on her armor at all times.
Zack
bounty hunter/ mechanic, Westvalia
*Naida's partner and the pacifist of the two. Made his own smaller ship for the two of them to travel in that is light and quick. He doesnt like to fight but he keeps a small gun on his person charged with a fire stone. Hes upbeat and looks on the bright side of things, one day wanting to explore under the clouds.
looks: short, spikey blond hair, green eyes, tanned skin.
extra: Will work on something special for him at a later date.

Kageyoshi (Kage no IsenKen)
Elia Nation, Bounty Hunter
Kageyoshi is a relatively unknown person, despite being in the spotlight for the work he does. No one is sure of the weapons he uses, although his monkier, "Shadow of the Thousand Blades" in an indication of both speed and more than one bladed weapon. Despite being a Hunter, he has cashed in every one of his captures alive, and more often than not donates the majority of his rewards to the needy, and organizations that provide for others.
Appearance: Unkempt and shaggy silver hair that hangs low to hide his eyes, which are rumored to be multi-color, one a dark rust-red and the other a light blue-silver. He is known to dress in darker shades of clothing, mostly crimson, black, or a dark raven-blue. If the weather is bad, he wears a pure black cloak that covers all of his body except for his head.
Extra: Despite no one knowing for sure, there are reports that the battle areas' he leaves are always left torn asunder, and soaked with water. The only visible weapon anyone can see on his person is a long katana in a simple black sheath at his waist, with what appears to be an energy stone tied to the end with a small length of rope.

To join: sent me a pm, or post here including your characters name, nation or faction and a small summary on what your character is good with and or does and looks like.
Now, to start the story:
After a long time, a 'shower' of energy stones came finally crashing down again, all nations and even alot of the factions started mining these stones quickly.
Unfortunatly, nations alike claimed certain islands and the drops on them as their own which led to a war among all nations eventually.
This war has only recently started, and no end is as of yet in sight.
Due to the off late shortage of these moonstones everyone is hunting for them and fighting over them.
Vyne's story starts with raiding two ships, a Westvalia and Saren battleship who had fought one another of control of each others cargo.
Having waited till both sides had exhausted most of their ammunition and troops on one another, Vyne had intervened and stopped their combat by simply stunning both sides with his air imbued 'thunder' cannonballs. His men had hauled off most of the moonstones onto his ship and he grinned happily.
"The morons fought one another so desperatly....made it somewhat too easy really.
The only things that is really left is to bring these leftover stones onboard and actually find someone who can refine them. The raw power of these things is way too much to simply use as fuel or as ammunition."
"Captain! were done loading all that we can carry. Im afraid we have to leave some of them behind, otherwise we wont be able to move at all sir!"
"Damn, partly thats a shame, but a full hold is good nonetheless! alright men! were taking off! back to homebase, on the double!"
"Aye aye"
~Vyne's ship left the two stranded, heavily damaged battleships, heading back towards his secret hideout, the hideout of the Silver Fang.
This way was far from entirely safe, along with patrols from other nations, there were also other pirates and bounty hunters about. Off late Vyne had gained a bounty, seeing as the nations disliked having their ships wrecked and getting their valuable moonstone cargo stolen.~

"There are ships up ahead Nai, What do you want me to do?"
"mm...Where do they hail from?"
"It looks like two battleships, one from westvalia, the other from Saren. " The blonde tilted his head to glance at his partner, currently taking residence in the back of their little two pilot ship. "Theres a third leaving the scene. "
Nadia perked up. "It must be a pirate ship! " She grinned. 'Quick quick! Tail that last one, lets find out who it is so I can look up the bounty!"
"Alright but if they catch us and start shooting Im pulling out!" Zack huffed, piloting the ship past the two larger destroyed vessels. The personalized ship zipped past the wreckage and straight towards the third one leaving

Aboard the Silver Fang's vessel, the small ship did not went unnoticed.
"Captain! a small vessel seems to be following us!"
~Vyne removed the his boots from his desk and looked up at his crewmember~
A lifeboat? no....they would have no reason to follow us, that would be rather stupid.
Let them follow us for now.
~Vyne took a look on the map that was under his glass desk~
Ah! perfect. This island right here. We'll land there and see what this ship wants. If they want to join up, we'll give them the useall 'greeting' if they are actually bounty hunters stupid enough to try to take on the main vessel of the Silver Fang with such a tiny vessel......Then they are rather stupid.
"Aye Cap'n!"
~The crewmember left, passing on the orders Vyne had given, whether silently or not. His crew knew his tactics and any order given without him needing to say it.~
Some time later, the ship went around the island and docked at a small open section. Vyne stood on the ground and stretched, then played with his gun in one hand, waiting for the small ship to also come around the corner, to see what these were up to.~

Having been aboard the battleship belonging to Saren, Kageyoshi was not in the finest of moods. The fighting between the two idiot nations had been annoying enough, but the intervention by the pirates had been the final icing on the cake.
"...I'm cursed. Bad things happen everywhere I go."
With a slight twitch to his right eye, out of mild annoyance, he stands from his former resting position and stretches, not at all disturbed by the looks of surprise his appearance had for any of the remaining Saren crewmen.
"Just a word of advice...check for stow-aways more often. It was pretty easy getting on board at your last stop..."
"That was six days ago...."
"My point exactly, moron!"
Without waiting for a reply, he gives a mock salute and wanders off, yawning into his hand. Since none of the crew even bothered to attempt stopping him, he figured it was mostly out of shock, he commandeered a small 'safety craft' and set off with it, easily following the "Pirate Ship" with the use of his wind attribute energy stone.
Noticing the small craft already pursuing it, his eye twitches again but he sighs to calm himself and follows after it...not really caring anymore if he was spotted.

"What? You arent seriously thinking of going down there are you?"
"Who cares what I do just open the the damn cockpit window"
Zack pouted and did what he was told, the glass casing that protected them pulling back. Despite the speed they were going at and the force of wind blowing past them the younger girl pulled herself out of her seat and stood up.
"I'll pull in a little closer " The mechanic yelled over the wind, the little ship dipping down. "Once I land Ill meet up with you!"
Naida gave him a mock salute and after checking to make sure she had her stone she jumped, making a fast fall for the ship below.

"It seems someone just jumped down from that ship....onto mine? how stupid can someone be really? Oh well, I dont mind as long as they dont wreck my ship, if they do, they are going to be in a world of hurt."
~Vyne did uphold the code of the Silver Fang, not to harm anyone who was unarmed or surrendered, logical seeing as he was the one who founded the Silver Fang. Yet, his ship was pretty much holy to him, and he would hurt anyone who, while he had made no aggresive action, damage his ship.~
"Captain, why stand and wait for them anyhow?"
"Why, it would simply be impolite not to at least hear them out why they are trailing us.
Aside from the bounty, we arent the true pirates here, we all know that. We raid what we and our people need, nothing more. Everything we take is devided among our people fairly."

"...That looks like fun. I should try it too."
The silver haired man grins, the look hardly visible, and nods to himself. He speeds his stolen life boat up significantly and leaps from it, landing on the smaller of the two vessels. He crouches for a second, contemplating making the jump to the biggership, but pauses and turns his head to the guy remaining on the smaller ship.
"...So...what's up? Aside from us? Any idea at all what is going on around here? I was asleep the whole time...on that ship back there belonging to those morons from Saren."

Naida, on the ship below hit the vessel with a little thud, managing to stay on her feet. If it hadnt been for the stone she wore she wouldnt have landed as gracefully as she had. Looking around she realized she had completely missed her target and had ended up on the other side of the ship.
"Son of a..." Gripping the handle of her sword just in case she needed it she ran towards where she had originally wanted. Depending on whose ship this was shed either get her bounty or just leave.

Zack, not expecting someone to jump from a ship above and onto his smaller one let out an extremely undignified shriek. "Bloody hell!" He went to veer and knock the man off but suddenly realized that he recognized the man as another bounty hunter "You scared the living crap out of me mate, Dont do that!! " He yelped, regaining his composure. " From what I gather, that ship just raided two vessels that were warring with each other...my partner just went down to see whose ship this is"

Finding the reaction to his appearance to be funny, the silver haired man can't help but let out a slight laugh at the poor man he'd startleds' account.
"...I slept through two ships fighting? That it highly surprising."
He looks down at the bigger ship and shrugs, before preparing to jump.
"You had a partner, right? Female? I'll make sure she gets out if things go bad."
He throws a single thumbs up, before jumping, much like the female had before.
