The weekends were the one time when she felt like she could... relax. There would still be a patrol at night, but with the weekend not occupied by school, she had a few hours to do whatever she liked. That meant she was usually by herself, avoiding people she'd rather not spend her time with. No doubt that her phone was vibrating in her pocket because her brother wanted to check up on her, but she ignored it like she always did. Damon still hadn't learned that she'd never respond to his texts. Delphine cherished her time to herself, though she DID like hanging out with actual people from time to time, so long as they weren't total idiots (which, in fact, so many idiots had reproduced that she was sure Destiny City was overrun with stupid).
For the afternoon, she was spending an hour two at the park. If she had a dog, she would have walked it, but as it was she didn't, and so walked down the paved path, preoccupied with playing tetris on her cell phone. Something about the game was so damned addicting. Delphine was wearing her a-typical tight black jeans, her tribal-designed hoodie sending a clear message of 'I'd rather enjoy it if you DIDN'T try to talk to me'. Usually that did the trick, and she was left alone.
The Crystal Academy student glanced up from her cellphone, gaze lifting to the trees, the blue sky. If she was one to appreciate nature more, today would have been one of those days that would convince her to spend more hours outside. Instead, though, she mused over the issue that by walking around so much, her feet would definitely be sore tonight when she was patrolling in high heels. Whomever designed her fuku would receive a swift kick to the rear if she ever saw them - if someone had designed it, and that thought sent her mind down another long-winded path.

Khalla deeply enjoyed the weekends, probably for the same reason every other student in Destiny City did - so much free time! It wasn't that she didn't enjoy school, of course, but the weekends meant she could just get so much more done. Already today she'd dropped off some of her old clothes at the homeless shelter, gone to the grocery store for the old woman that lived down the road across from the Academy, and now she was at the park putting in some hard hours of clean up service. Deep down, she was immensely pleased with herself for making such good use of her time.
She drew in a deep breath of the fresh park air, straightening her back from where she was hunched over with her trash tongs. She ran the back of one gloved hand over her forehead to brush away the few stray pieces of hair that had fallen out of her ponytail, then let it fall to pick slightly at an imaginary stain on her jean overalls. She certainly wasn't wearing the most fashionable get up, but it worked for this.
She reached down to grab the half-full garbage she had been lugging around and turned to head to another section of the park. It was just her luck, however, that she began to turn and walk before she ever lifted her eyes from the ground, creating the perfect equation for a collision. It wasn't even a brush, or a nick, it was a full-on blow to Delphine. She hit so hard that she stumbled backward, tripping over her own feet and dropping the contents of her bag all over the ground once more.
"Oh, darn it!" She stomped her foot a little once she'd gotten her stability back, then finally looked up to see who she'd hit. "Oh, I am so sorry," she murmured, her brows drawing down and her mouth forming into a worried 'o'.

This was destined to happen. Everywhere she went she'd end up getting hit by SOMEONE, whether it was patrolling or not, she would get blindsided by something that would just irritate her beyond belief. Delphine stumbled a few steps as a girl turned and walked right smack into her. Somehow she managed to keep her balance, and she was quick on the uptake to send Khalla and unimpressed look. Oh god... she hoped that girl had hit her less with the garbage bag and more with herself, because if Delphine walked home stinking to high heaven she was going to track this girl down and smack her a few good times.
"Right," she replied shortly, gaze lowering from the girl to the contents of the garbage bag spilled onto the ground. She felt the overwhelming urge to just walk away, and yet... With an impatient growl she knelt down onto the ground, grabbing the trash bag and beginning to stuff the garbage back into it. Oh god, she was going to get AIDS on her hands! ON HER HANDS. Why she did these things she had no idea. Maybe this was why she was a senshi, because while on the outside she really didn't want to help anyone at all, there was some inner force that compelled her to help those in need.
She hated it.
"I hope you have sanitizer on you." Delphine suspected the girl didn't, which meant she was going to have to hold her hands out in front of her like they were the plague until she found some way to clean them. She shot a quick glare up at the other girl, to emphasize her displeasure even as she was helping the girl.

For a moment, Khalla simply watched the other girl, feeling a little put off by the way she simply stared. In fact, the longer she watched her in silence, the more Khalla felt her own irritation rising. That was simply rude as far as she was concerned. Then, of course, whomever this was, she seemed to change her mind.
"Oh, you don't -" she began as Delphine leaned down to start shoving the trash back into the bag, halfway holding out her trash tongs towards her, though it was already too late by that point. Once she stood back up, Khalla reached out to grab the bag back from her, frowning slightly. Well, if she liked grabbing trash with her bare hands, that was her prerogative.
"Sanitizer? Oh, no, I'm sorry." She frowned at that, genuinely feeling bad that she didn't have something to offer. Why hadn't she thought of keeping sanitizer with her? She turned her frown into a smile immediately, however, and took a step forward. "But since you're already here, maybe you'd like to help me with the rest of the cleanup project?" It was obvious that she was quite serious by the giant smile on her face. "I do have extra gloves!"

She reached out to wipe her hands clean on the other girl's shirt. Delphine knew that they really wouldn't be cleaned that way, but she was looking to push Khalla's buttons just a LITTLE in revenge for running into her. Sadly, she wasn't the nicest person on the earth, and if Khalla didn't get that hint now, she'd get it soon enough... unless the girl was entirely dim-witted, and then Delphine wouldn't bother with getting revenge.
...
The look she gave Khalla was entirely flat, unamused, and unwilling to do anything the girl wanted her to. Clean up? Like hell she was going to save planet earth by picking up some goddamned trash. She had done her part for the day, and was not going to contribute any further. "No, I'd gladly not help you with anything else." Not just the clean up, but if the girl wanted ANYTHING, Delphine was on the general consensus of 'no'. "Does it look like I really want to clean anything else today?"
HONESTLY. She had done enough, or so she thought. Her hand lifted, as if to brush back her hair from her face, but then she was remembered that it probably had AIDS crawling all over it. "Oh, dear, you've got some hair in your eyes..." So instead of putting her AIDS-infected hand all over herself, she reached out to do it to Khalla instead.
It made her feel a whole lot better, honestly.

The smile on Khalla's face faded quickly, first replaced by a look of confusion, then by clear anger as the other reached out to wipe her hands on her shirt. Sure, her clothing was meant to get dirty and protect her from the grime that this job entailed, but that didn't mean she wanted other people deliberately wiping their filth on her when it was just as easy to wait five minutes and find a public restroom!
"Ooh, that was uncalled for!" She huffed out, stomping one booted foot and grinding it into the earth slightly. She was just about to go into a tangent when the other girl reached out and ran her disgusting hands over her face. For a moment, she simply stood in shocked silence. Then her face contorted into anger and she whipped her trash tong out in an attempt to whack her hand, like one might see an angry mother popping their child's when they do something wrong.
"That was rude! You should be ashamed of yourself!" She retorted, her teeth gritting in her irritation and her eyes staring defiantly at the darker teenager.

She laughed at the girl's response. Honestly, if all she was going to do was whip some tongs at her in an attempt to 'infect' her, Delphine wasn't worried. She was already as dirty as she could possibly get from helping this girl OUT OF THE KINDNESS OF HER HEART pick up her trash. To make up for her earlier kindness, she seemed to be doubly mean. "No it wasn't. You ran into me with your filthy garbage bag," she pointed out with a mock-disinterested look on her face.
Delphine half expected Khalla to throw a temper tantrum then and there, with how she was stomping her feet and pouting like a petulant child. The girl really did resemble a child, big eyes, exaggerated expressions, and the whining. "Ashamed...?" And with an arch of her brow, she made it very clear that she felt nothing akin to shame about being mean. "Oh, well, you deserved it." Khalla probably didn't, but Delphine felt like rationalizing her actions. It did wonders for her conscience.
"I call it 'karma', except that it's just that... what goes around, comes around tenfold." Oh, she liked that!

The more the other spoke, or simply remained in her presence, the more Khalla could feel her temper rising. It was like the mercury in a needle, slowly approaching the point of bursting. How could anyone on this earth be so deliberately rude? It was like.. kicking puppies, or stealing candy from babies.
"I didn't mean to run into you, and I apologized!" She said irritably, pointing an accusing finger. "You, however, are being a deliberate nuisance," she shook her head and reached down to grab the garbage bag she had previously dropped in her shock.
"Karma?" Her head whipped back up from where she was hunched over, a short laugh falling past her lips. "I, for one, hope that Karma truly does exist. Maybe a dump truck will empty it's load right on your head!" As soon as she said it, she felt abashed, her cheeks coloring a little at such a rude comment. She was letting this girl get the best of her, and that was simply unfair. She wouldn't apologize, though, she wouldn't give her the satisfaction. She simply reached to tie the garbage bag shut, hiding her embarrassment at herself with a tilted head.

"You were pissing me off, so if I can return the favor...? Yeah, I will, so sure, I'm being a deliberate nuisance. Suck it up, baby." It was easy to say that Delphine did not make friends. She liked having friends, but she wasn't the kind of girl to make a lot fo them. Khalla was definitely not on her potential friend-list. Rather, she was on the list of 'I-So-Want-To-Paralyze-You-For-One-Night-For-The-Lulz'.
She laughed, again. If this girl was trying to insult her, it wasn't working. Khalla WAS making her irritated, though. Delphine wanted to grab one of the tongs and rip her garbage bag, so she'd have to get a new one AND pick up the mess. At that thought, her fingers twitched as if to follow the inclination, but Delphine could only be so mean during the duration of one conversation. "And for wishing that on me, watch Karma do it to you instead."
Delphine reached out, placing her hands on top of Khalla's head, which was likely the equivalent to having garbage dumped onto her. Delphine's hands were rather filthy, after all!

At this point, all Khalla really wanted to do was gather her things and leave so that she didn't have to spend one more moment with this insufferable human being. "I hope that kind of philosophy gets you far in life," she muttered, her fingers fumbling uselessly over the ties of the garbage bag, "but I really doubt it."
She grunted at the ties of the bag, irritated with herself for being so angry that she couldn't tie them. She was simply going to try ignoring the girl at this point until she could walk away, convinced that any further argument wouldn't be helpful at all. She cold already tell that this other female was stubborn.
That's when she put her hands on her head. Again, she was shocked into motionless silence, but less than last time - after all, she'd already done this once. Then, with a loud, shrill groan of pure fury, she thrust the garbage bag towards Delphine, hoping it would pour all it's contents all over her. Then she simply whipped around and began to walk away. She'd clean it up later, after that nuisance was gone, if that's what it took.

Oh, she knew she was ticking this girl off, and while that was plentiful revenge, and enough to sate any vindictive school girl, she was getting ticked off in RETURN. Her fingers curled tightly into the fabric of her hoodie, eyes narrowing to watch the other girl. If she could glare the girl into nonexistence, she would have just accomplished that feat. "And I hope picking up other people's garbage gets you almost as far. You'd make the perfect garbage man! Plenty of practice under your belt," she sneered in reply. Oh, it would be a miracle if she was nice for once.
OH wait, she had been. And that had only made her more irritable. This nice thing was going to remain a rare occasion, her guilty conscious be damned.
Delphine arched a brow high upon her forehead as the girl... roared? What the - OH MY GOD THAT b***h WAS DEAD. The garbage bag was thrust at her, and she hardly gave herself enough time to react, half of its portions spilling over the front of her hoodie and jeans. These were her GOOD clothes too! She screamed in frustration. That was it, the girl could walk away now, but tonight she was totally transforming into Sailor Nemesis, finding where this girl LIVED, and dumping thirty pounds of garbage into her goddamned bed.
"You piece of TRASH!" she yelled after Khalla, before stalking off in the opposite direction to plan the girl's demise.
