Chobi:
Tahki didnt fully understand what was with the atmosphere change in the pride. It had gone from an adventurous place to a dark and dreary depressing place. Everyone seemed to know something the cubs didn't.
Of course the little blue and white girl figured it had to be attatched to those pesky lizards. Just had to be. They must have found a way to zap the happy out of everyone. The cub smacked her paw into a puddle of mud angrily. This wouldn't do. She'd have to find and kill all the lizards to save the pride.
Tahki nodded to her self. That made perfect sense... though first she was gonna have to find a way to sneak away. The adults were overly protective of the cubs right now. Another doing of the lizards Tahki assumed.
Keantha:
Kuba smiled gently as she slipped out of the den, her ears perking as she yawned. Life was alittle easier now that her three youngest cubs were weaned and begining to tumble about. And Ves...gods knew how her heart had leapt in joy at the sight of him finally coming home to her. He wanted to be a father to her band of misfits which... well there were no words for the joy t brought her.
"Hello my princess, lizard hunting again?" Kabu chuckled teasingly, her husky voice filled with love.
Chobi:
Tahki froze in place at the sound of her mothers voice. She had been found out. Tahki's head lowered and she sighed turning to face her mother.
"I want to help out," She lowered her head more, "Those lizards must be the cause of all this dread..." Her ears and tail went slack. She hoped her mother would understand she just wanted to protect her pride. "After all I'm a great explorer," Tahki lifted her head some and gave a very weak chuckle.
Keantha:
Kuba laughed softly as she padded to her more adventous daughter, " I just wanted to check on you love. " She knew she wasn't as close to little Tahki as she was to Dusan or Tana.
Chobi:
Tahki's mouth opened in an O shape. She was surprised that Kabu was checking on her.
"I'm fine mother," The little cub giggled at last. She pawed at her mother in a playful manner, "Really I am. " She giggled, "I'm a brave adventurer after all," The cub puffed out her chest. Still she was curious to why her mother was checking up on her right now.
"Is.. Everything okay Mama?"
Keantha:
"You are my brave girl," Kabu purred softly as she watched her oddly patterned daughter. "Kitten...you know I love you don;t you?" It worried her sometimes, with all that happened that perhaps her own cubs didn;t know how much Kabu loved them
Chobi:
Tahki stuck her tongue out at being called a kitten.
"Heeeey! Im not a kitten. I'm a brave adventurer." She puffed her chest out once more proudly. "Course I know mommy loves me. Cause how could you not?" The cub giggled and pawed at her mother.
"I love you mommy. Your the bravest." She purred and rubbed her head to her mother.
Keantha:
"You are -my- kitten," Kabu chuckles licking her forehead tenderly as she nuzzled her brave little one. "I just wanted to make sure sweetling. I know your brother is angry with me."
Chobi:
Tahki blinked. This was news to her. Though she didn't always really talk about feelings with her brothers.
"W-why is brother angry with you...? Err, which brother?" The cub scratched her head looking ever so perplexed.
Keantha:
"Dusan. He does not like when you had to go stay with Uncle Unus." She sighed softly, her once loving little man had be avoiding her and it broke her heart...but what could she do? Her other little ones had needed her and Uko....god she missed her sister.
Chobi:
Tahki pouted some remembering staying with Unus.
"Ah.. yeah..." The cub felt her ears go flat. Dusan wasn't the type to be angry with anyone.
"Well....... Why did we have to stay with ... Unus?" the cub stuck her tongue out.
Keantha:
"...Some bad things happened baby. That is why Wadahi and the girls came to live with us. That is why they are your little sisters and brother now." She didn't want to scare Tahki with the talk of murder and the death of their Aunt Uko.
Chobi:
Tahki sighed. It was the lizards fault of course. They were causing all this bad things and they were the reason the cubs had to stay with Unus. Bleh, that hadn't been fun. A clear look of distaste shown vividly on the small cubs face. She hadn't liked staying with Unus either but she still loved her mother.
"I don't like bad things," The cub said in a very serious tone. "I can protect you so no bad things happe," Tahki nodded.
Keantha:
Kabu chuckled softly nuzzling her hair, " I know you can protect me baby. I have you, and your brothers, and ...well...a friend that protect us."
Chobi:
Tahki's eyes widened. "You made a new friend mama?" The cub tilted her head and just stared up at her mother. Why hadn't momma told them she had a new friend.
"Is it a secret friend momma? Who is it?" Tahki bounced from side to side. "Who is your secret friend?"
Keantha:
Kabu laughed softly, " He..well...he wants to be with us and be part of our family." She chuckled softly as she laid down with a faint groan of relief. Lord those cubs where wearing her out.
Chobi:
Tahki giggled, "So your friend is a cub momma?" She couldnt help but laugh. More cubs. More fun, the little lioness loved all of her siblings. More would be even more fun to go on adventures with.
Keantha:
"Nooo, he is a grown male sweetling." She chuckled softly
Chobi:
Tahki looked perplexed.
"No way!" She wiggled. "You have a booooooooy friend! Mommas got a boyfreinddd~" She giggled and danced about her mother chanting 'Momma's got a boyfriend' for five minutes or so.
Keantha:
Kabu laughed softly, as her ears flick back to eat the red inside of them, " Well...yes I do sweetheart. But I do not have a boyfriend...I have a beloved who wants to become my mate and your father."
Chobi:
Tahki blinked and looked at her mother with aw. "A .. Father?" She had never known the love of a father and never thought she would ever know what it was like to have a father.
"You really mean it momma?" The cubs eyes widened. "When can I meet him?"
Keantha:
"Very soon love, he will be coming here to live with us. He knows about you cubs and is excited too." Well...that may be a little bit of a strech but Ves did want to be part of her children's lives
Chobi:
Tahki cooed some. She was happy that her mother was happy and that she was going to have a daddy. The thought of evil lizards on the prowl was momentarily dropped from her mind and replaced with the excitement of having a real family.
"He better be strong." She chimed.
Keantha:
"He is very strong," Kabu chuckled. " And he is so handsome." Her violet eyes all but glowed with love as she thought about the strong rouge. " His coat is white with black markings on his legs...and a bright bright red mane." She knew that would amuse her fun loving daughter
Chobi:
Tahki was indeed amused, greatly so. But all this excitement took a toll on her young body. The cub yawned.
"I'm tired.." The cub whined, "Lets go back homeeeee...."
Keantha:
Kabu purred softly as she got to her feet, " Alright sweetling. It is about nap time for everyone."
Chobi:
Tahki nodded and started back for the thread, "Its nap time for everyone.." She repeated tiredly. Later she would be sure to go hunt some lizards but for now a nap sounded great.
