Bowling Pins in a bowling alley. The lighting suxsss. It's fast paced. So what do I do?? I am looking for tips, tricks, or ideas...please. I posted my pictures to show ya'll what I've done. Show me what you've done. I really want to improve my work. Thank you. If it helps any I shoot with a Nikon D300 body and a very basic wide angle lens. :/ It's all I got. Anyway, if you have a better picture of bowling pins I would love to see it. Thanks smile

Don't worry, your not in trouble!I moved this to the main forum because Show off is more like a DA type forum, the place to ask for advice is the "Tips and Tricks" forum or the main forum.

anyways, If you don't mind sacrificing a little bit of quality, you could increase the ISO so you can use a slower shutter speed to capture a little motion.
I would slow down the shutter speed, and try taking some more of the pins being knocked down or the person throwing the ball, thats where the action is, and thats usually where the interest is. if you have a burst mode, I would suggest using it.
thats all I got. wink

Nah it's cool I wasn't sure where to put it cuz I didn't want to put it in the wrong forum. haha smile

I have such a hard time sacrificing quality tho....:/ I guess I'm gonna have to. I was taking these as children where throwing the ball so not too many pins where being knocked down. haha. But I see what your saying... smile

its not really a big deal. If you ever need to know where to put something, you can always PM me. If I'm on Ill tell you, if not, just tell me where you put it. (the main forum is a good bet for almost anything)

Well, if your img is big enough, you can always make it smaller and it will look less grainy. I do that with my rebel when I shoot at night. 3nodding

sometimes when there really isn't enough light, and you don't want to use flash, the only choice is to change the ISO. sweatdrop

Sadly but you gotta do what you gotta do

very true. Though changing it just slightly shouldn't do anything. If you change it to like 1300 then it will do something. xp
