The silence that befell the forest during the winter days in these Douglas fir woodlands sent a fever of euphoria through Aisu. It tingled from the tips of his hooves to the end of his snout and his eyelids, half closed, felt heavy. He stood quietly between the white sheeted trees and ground, gazing through a crack in the canopy as white flecks drifted in a dance towards him, falling off the needles from the slight winter breeze. He felt the snow melt quickly on his fur but the beams of light through the clouds above kept the air warm enough that he didn't shiver.

Aisu walked through the silence, the only noise reverberating through the branches of the fir's was the slight crunch of the snow compacting below his footfall. It was hard for him to imagine anything more beautiful than a moment such as this. As he drifted peacefully through the trees, he came to a clearing. A snow covered field; A canvas untouched. As his eyes glanced along the treeline, he watched as the fir's faded into tall slender birch trees, the white of their bark blending with the snow below them. He moved silently through the field, leaving a trail across the blanket of white behind him, moving towards the birch trees. He weaved through them not with any purpose or goal. He simply drank in the quiet and beauty.

A silence that was almost deafening and yet musical in it’s soft nature. The very trees creaked from cold; the birch naked without their greenery. Whiteness pierced like daggers into the corners of delicate blues, triangular ears perched upon a delicate masked head quivered naught from the cold but ill concealed excitement. It had been a long flight on a steady hoof beat but the journey from there to here had been worth the time. Fluttering wings ruffled just so, the sound bouncing from green fir to fir clumps of snow falling to the forest floor bellow with a melodic patter.

Oh yes, Glacie was deliciously excited to explore this new found treasure.

Giggling she spun about dainty white ribbon and cloth trailing in her wake. A dance, a dance! A dance through the white for this mare of white. How glorious, she thought, to blend with such a serene atmosphere. So lost in her play she let out a frightful cry as her rump thumped into a lone birch, dislodging the snow from it’s branches and plopping right onto her nose and betwixt her ears! Eyes crossed, wide with childish wonder as they stared at the offending cold, white mess before her sides shook with silent mirth. A silence that was interrupted with full out right laughter. Oh how she loved it! Lowering her snout she lifted a forelimb and brushed the cold away laughing still. Straightening Glacie gave her head a quick shake, sending the lump there to join the rest. Snorting playfully at it she took long steps away from the tree as if to hide the evidence that such a thing occurred.

Despite however funny it was, a private embarrassment was not an embarrassment for all to know.

Aisu nearly stumbled when a cry broke through the chilly air. The sound was almost like a knife, not for the sound itself, but for the sharp wind that bit his face as he turned towards the direction it came from. "Hello?" Aisu called out, but with no answer he decided to investigate. He backtracked through the snow and when he was sure he'd lost his bearings, he'd seen her. As eligant as the snow, dressed in lace and silks. Hues of blue shimmered through her white palette and it was then that Aisu had decided she must have been born from snow itself.

He watched in quiet amusement as she cheerfully laughed, ridding herself of the snow, in which Aisu was certain, was the offending object of her scream. He couldn't help but chuckle silently as she attempted to rid herself of the thought of her embarassment. "It is hard to pretend you were never there when the snow below you bears all truth." He chuckled again, this time audible to her, as he motioned to the trail of disheveled snow behind her. "I, however, think the flits of snow in your hair are quite becoming." He smiled, watching as small shimmers of light danced like glitter in her hair.

"Oh!" Caught unaware by the other's approach she jumped in fright, eyes widening a fraction before sheepishly looking down. She felt her cheeks warm beneath her fur as she tossed her head to the side freeing a few flakes in the process. With a bashful air Glacie examined the stallion breath almost catching in her throat. Oh my, was her only thought. He was quite stunning with his cream colored coat and those antlers! Wow were those real antlers? Not to mention his other pretty accessories. Suddenly she felt a shyness creep over her. Not being a feeling she was used to she squashed it just as quickly as it came and yet there was a sliver of it remaining, curling around her belly.

Afraid to be caught in her staring Glacie turned her gaze elsewhere, anywhere but the warm snowy eyes of the other. "It... It was not something to be seen so soon." She all but muttered. Nervous hooves 'danced' along the snowy ground, a beaded tail giving a flick as the wind danced among it's white tresses. Bringing her wings closer to herself she met his gaze again but instead of looking away she flashed a soft grin. "I've never met one like you before. What is your name?"

Aisu smiled as her sudden sheepish demeanor only added to her serenity. She looked delicate and yet had an air of strength behind her. He found himself curious about this mare; Who she was, where she came from. He gave a light chuckle and bowed his head to her. "My apologies for catching you in such a moment. Perhaps it was fate that pulled me here from this empty forest at such a moment. Or maybe just luck." He smiled and watched her for a moment as she struggled against her nerves. "My name is Aisu. It's a pleasure to meet you, miss." He bowed politely to her. "My kind are quite different from those who normally home in these area's. We are called Cerynei." He glanced over the wings on her back. "I have only ever seen one of your kind once before." He smiled and looked to her eyes through her mask. "Though she held no candle to your beauty." Aisu caught his breath slightly then gave a small bow of his head. "Forgive me if I impose."

Aisu looked back to the mare before him, drinking in her details. The blue beads in her hair were stunning in the light, and the mask upon her face mirrored the wings upon her back. The lace ties around her body made her frame look so elegant against the snow. It was then his mind wondered once again about her. "And what, may I ask, is your name?" He smiled, hoping it would help her feel less nervous. He would save the intimate questions of where she came from for later. After-all the last thing he wanted was to scare her off. It wasn't often he found others out here, but for once he knew he didn't want to simply pass by.

Glacie’s grin faded into a soft answering smile. The stallion, Aisu, he seemed very kind and warm. It was a warmth that seemed to radiate from his very being into her own and she was pleased to find herself no longer lost to the cold. While she had never met one of these Cerynei before this day she was certain that Aisu was the best of them all. She turned her head to the ground, that long white mane falling in front of her eyes beads clacking along the way at his compliment. While it lift her feeling a flutter there was something about the way he spoke that put her at ease. Without a hint of hesitation she answered, “My name is Glacie. You need not worry about imposing, Aisu.” She giggled raising her head to gaze at him from behind those white tresses. “You are quite the charmer as I’m sure you often hear. It only comes as a shock that you think that of me.”

Yes, a near breathless shock at that. She never thought of herself as pretty at least not when it came to other stallions tastes. It was her fondness for the white of life and the embrace of gentle lace. Beginning to fidget once more Glacie began to wonder where the conversation might turn and, while she seemed placid now, her energy could be as bondless as the sky. The last thing she wanted to do was scare off the other by exploding into a ceaseless babble about random topics. Come on, Aisu, she inwardly pleaded. We should play, we should romp through this snow!

"Glacie. A name as delicate as the silks upon your figure." He chuckled, smiling warmly to her. "How can I not think you beautiful when your looks challenge the very snow itself? Yes, I am sure it finds itself jealous." He chuckled again, shaking his head slightly. "I am also sure you are bored with this idle chat. From what I've seen you don't seem the type to just stand around like this. Glacie, if you don't mind my company, what would you like to do with our time?" He smiled politely, hoping she wouldn't pardon their moment together. He felt himself become somewhat excited for her answer. He wasn't sure if it was excitement to hear her voice again, or anxiety to know if she wanted him around. It was strange the spell he found himself under with this mare. Was it simply that the moment of their meeting was just too perfect? Or was it really her that put him under. Either way, Aisu found himself content to be in such a situation.

"If you would like to take a walk, I know many places around here I'm sure you'd love to see. Or perhaps you'd fancy something more exciting." He smiled at the prospect. He hadn't found himself craving to have this kind of fun since he was a foal. It was strange and yet he couldn't help it. It just seemed right.
