[The title can be taken a couple of ways: Maybe you've read the book The Most Dangerous Game, in which a celebrated hunter becomes the hunted, finding out that for one man, humans are "the most dangerous game." "Game" meaning animals that are hunted for sport or food.
Or...the title can be taken literally: as in an actual "game" that is played that is harmful to one's well-being.
Put those two ideas together and we have-- The topics of our discussion:
-What is your view on wars and videogames that that simulate war-time experiences, like being a soldier?
-Is war always, sometimes or never right? If sometimes, how can you determine what a "just" war is?
-Feel free to discuss anything else related to the things stated here.]

That one Chubby Bunny game... when you stuff as many marshmellows in your mouth as you can... saw it on Oprah. A girl died... The other game... when you pass people out... I didnt that... My whole left side of my face was Effed up cause I fell on it...
As for video games... the most realistic war simulation.... I think... Socom? I don't play those games... I dont like them. The scare me... Ha...
War is sometimes right... War to protect homeland secutiy is one thing... but 'The War on Iraq', which was changed to Operation Iraqui Freedom... was not.

[Yea, there are a lot of dumb games people play, I see. I don't get the "pass people out" game...
I don't like war games, etc. They just aren't my cup of tea. I suppose some people can find satisfaction in playing them; they learn to think fast (in a way). ]

Video game wise the most realistic war game I have played is Close Combat: First to flight.
You take on the role of a Marine commander and take out terrorist factions in the middle east.
War to me is nothing special. It can be justified, it just depends on the war and how you look at it. For example, nothing can justify the war America is in right now, or Vietnam. As for past wars like WWII and The revolutionary war it just depends on how you look at it. WWII we saved a race of people, and in the Revolutionary we freed ourselves and became the mighty country we are today.
--------
As for the "Pass people oyt" games I think its the thrill, most people get hooked on the addrenalin involved. Its like a drug to them.

But we also did wipe out a bunch of innocent people with the Atom Bombs...
Revolutionary War - Well there is justification in this one, cause the British were still trying to rule the colonies with their tariffs and absurd acts and taxes. Stamp Act... Townshend Act... blah blah.

Thats why we attacked Germany first. 3nodding We could of stayed out of European affairs, we just had a different version of Bush involved. 3nodding Then the Rev. War it once more depends on how you look at it, we could of been the ungratefull american swine who did not realise what the british were doing for us.

The war has hurt America more than it has benefeited us. I think we should benefeit our country first and the outsiders second.

Its like a drug to them. I don't know about you, but i'd say the 8000 or so terrorists who we have captured and killed makes the world a lot better place to live in. depends entirely on your viewpoint. we're told they were terrorists. we were also told that Saddam was a direct threat, and that there were weapons over there to be feared. we were also told that our government wouldn't stop until bin Laden was caught. have i missed the reports on his capture, or what? we can only hope that the people captured and killed were actually doing what we are all told they were doing, and not, say, defending their homes from an invading army. S.J. is right on this one - millions of people in this country don't have decent housing (some of them have no housing at all), and millions more have no heat, food, clean water, etc. we should be handling our own business before we try to tell others how to handle theirs. unfortunately, that's not likely to happen anytime soon. in a capitalist society, the one thing that matters above all else is CAPITAL (that's cold, hard cash, for those who are unaware). war is big business. homelessness and other tragedies are business, too, believe it or not. no real solutions will be put into place because those who actually have capital can't see past it, and those who don't aren't in any real position to gain, nor do they have any real say in what changes are made (voting? please, not when the capital is telling our delegates and representatives what to do, instead of the people). until the rule of $$$ is either at an end, or on a serious decline, democracy can't live, and the majority of people who suffer in this country are pretty much going to keep suffering. 10
