Caloki crawled out of the den she had spent the night in and stretched out her muscles. She had been escaping her run in with Kynon and was caught in a sudden storm. But luck was on her side when a female spotted her trying to keep dry under a small tree and invited her into her den for the night. Caloki was greatful for a clean and dry place to spend the night, although the female who lived there was far too pleasant for Caloki's liking. But shelter was shelter and when one was living on their own with no real home to go to you took what you could get.
The grass was still wet from the previous nights rain as she sat their smoothing out her fur. Soon she would be on the move again looking for something to do, or maybe someone to torment. She would have tried to torment Temba, the female who had shared her den, but she was far too polite to notice that what Caloki was saying was not a compliment. Looking out across the meadow as the sun reflected off the droplets clinging to the grass she heard Temba moving within the den and prepared herself for the onslaught of niceness that she knew was coming.

Temba emerged from the den with a smile on her face and was humming a cheery tune when she sat down beside her guest. "It was so nice that you could stay here, I do enjoy the company. But you must be more careful about getting caught in storms like that." She took a deep breath, taking in the smell of dew on the grass and listened to the birds chirping in a nearby tree. "It's beautiful isn't it? You should really find a place around here to settle down." Her tail tapped the ground happily at the thought. "Oh we could be neighbors! Wouldn't that be lovely?"
She took a moment to groom herself, as appearance was important to maintain. She had given that speech to Caloki last night when she entered the den covered with mud and her fur matted. Once again she started into the speech. "You must take care of yourself. Keeping your fur clean and smooth with make your life so much better, and who knows, it might even catch the eye of a male." She continued to groom herself, making sure to not miss a spot, completely unaware that Caloki had stopped listening to her long ago. Once she had decided that her fur was as clean and straight as possible she curled her tail around her body and looked out across the meadow and let a content sigh escape her lips.

Kynon had been intrigued enough about the female that had run off from him the night before that he had followed her for a short time, long enough to watch as she escaped the storm by crawling into a den with another female.
That had been interesting - and he'd been sorely tempted to go and plead his case to the friendly brown female himself, but had decided to let Caloki cool down for the night and when the storm got bad enough had retreated to his own home.
But it was morning now - and Kynon was back, watching from a distence as the two females crouched in the sun outside the den and groomed themselves. Caloki was by the far the prittier of the two Kynon thought to himself...but given her attitude the night before he was pretty sure she wan't going to give in this morning either - although in the past he had gotten some success with jealousy...
There..that was certainly the key...he would make Caloki jealous. Kynon didn't stop to think that the brown female might be just as hard to convince - that thought was just ludicrous and the purple male had a smug look on his face as he wove trough the trees, stopping to pick a wildflower on the way.
Carrying said flower in his jaws he broke the treeline behind Caloki - so she wouldn't see him coming and proclaimed "Ah..what a lovely sight to greet the morning with!"

Caloki had toned Temba out as she once again went into her speech about cleanliness. She wasn't sure what was worse at this point, listening to Temba or her run in with Kynon the night before. Her ear twitched slightly at Temba's comment about catching the eyes of a male, that was the last thing she wanted, to be tied down. "I have no intention of catching a males eye." She retorted with a bit of anger in her voice.
She was about to say something when a voice came from behind and she instantly cringed when she recognized who's voice that was. Turning her head slightly she saw Kynon coming up to where she and Temba were sitting. Spotting the wild flower he was carrying she rolled her eyes. This was not at all what she was hoping for this morning. If anything she had hoped to be far away from this place, curse that blasted storm that kept her here the night.

Temba gave Caloki an odd look when she said she had no interest in catching a males eye. How odd, she thought, such a young and pretty thing so against the idea of finding one to spend the rest of her life with. Temba had longed to have a mate, she had met many males in the past but none had been up to her high standard of cleanliness and politeness. Perhaps that was why Caloki was not yet paired up, she could be looking for that perfect match, that would explain why she was roaming the lands instead of sticking to one place as her home.
When a voice caught her attention she turned to see a beautifully coloured male coming up towards them, holding a wild flower in his jaws. Oh my, she thought, as she took in his sleek frame. She smiled and turned to face him completely. "Good morning to you." She said with a cheery tone. "I don't think we have met before, my name is Temba. What's yours?" She asked all too politely. She had to force herself to remain calm, as her heart was beating rapidly at the sight of such a handsome male.

Caloki's rolled eyes eyes not lost on Kynon when she turned about to look at him, though she didn't have a pleased look on her face, and she didn't call out a greeting to him - Kynon was quite sure that deep down the female was happy to see him again. Who wouldn't be?
Kynon was also quite sure that Caloki thought he had brought the flower for her - well...he was about to shock her little mind, the indigo male didn't even so much as look at Caloki, but focused his entire attentions on the one who proclaimed herself to be Temba...and yes she was indeed going to be an easy mark.
Fixing the brown female with a dazzling smile Kynon stepped past Caloki, waving his tail slightly as he did so that it would swipe irritatingly close to her face - like he didn't even notice she was there, and layed the flower at Temba's feet. "Good is hardly the summary of my morning now that I have met you" Kynon responded to the chatty female "Wonderful perhaps might work better - but even that is but a dull rendition" He continued 'I am Kynon"

Caloki watched Kynon carefully as he walked up closer to her and then turned his attention to Temba. She was overly greatful for that, then as Kynon's talk moved far too close to her face for her liking she stood up and shifted a bit further away. She watched in disgust as he began to flirt with Temba. What was with this male, she thought.
She would have left right then and there, but a part of her was almost curious to see how quickly Temba would fall for Kynon's quick works and smile. So she sat down to watch the spectacle unfold.

Temba found herself short on breath as Kynon flashed her that smile. This male certainly had a way about him. She bent to sniff the flower that he dropped at her feet. It's scent was alluring and it made her head spin when combined with Kynon's closeness.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Kynon. Are you from around here?" She would have responded to his comment about it being wonderful but she couldn't really find the right words to say. Suddenly her manners returned to her and she realized that she hadn't introduced Caloki yet. "Oh where are my manners today. This," she motioned with a tilt of her head. "is Caloki."

Kynon noticed hen Caloki moved off when he walked past - but he didn't show that hed noticed it, indeed it seemed like all of his attentions were focused on Temba. It seemed however that Temba was not going to play along with his little maneuver - as she went off and introduced him to Caloki. No matter - he could work with that.
"Alas, I am just wandering through" He told the brown female in response to her question. "Though I am finding it hard to leave a place where such companions seem to reside" He continued in a silky voice before glancing quickly at Caloki - and just as quickly dismissing her. "Ah yes..I have met her before, but was so entranced by the sight of you here in the morning sun that I failed to notice your colorful friend" Kynon concluded with another dazzling smile. Females - at least in his experience liked to think they were prettier then their friends, and he rather hoped his comment would get a rise out of Caloki.

Watching Temba and Kynon in their little act here made Caloki feel sick. She always hated the whole flirting thing and found it disgusting when others around here showed affections towards one another, or even hinter at it like was happening now. She couldn't believe how fast Temba had fallen for Kynon's smile and sweet talk. No, that was a lie, she did believe it. In the little time she had known Temba it became apparent that she was lonely and would grab at anything for attention. She considered leaving just not, but stopped herself, no this might get interesting, instead she got herself more comfortable.
Yawning slightly to show how bored she was with the goings on Caloki turned her attention to the nearby meadow, though she still listened closely to the conversation at hand. If all else failed, she would be able to tease Temba about this after Kynon left her for the next pretty tail to walk by, and that would likely be the highlight of the day.

Temba's tail flicker slightly, its tip brushing up against Kynon's and she had to fight back a smile at his words. She looked at him and lost her thoughts for a moment when her eyes locked with his, looking away she found her voice again. "Then you will be leaving this place soon." She said with a slightly disappointed voice. "There are plenty of places to make a home here. And it is such a lovely place to live. You should really consider staying."
Her attention went to Caloki for a moment. She was surprised at how calm she appeared when near such a beautiful and alluring male. Must be nice, she thought, to be able to hide ones feelings so easily. Her mind believed that Caloki did indeed like Kynon, how could she not, he was such a charmer. Turning back to Kynon she took a deep breath and soaked in his beautiful fur.

Caloki's yawn did not fool Kynon - in fact he found the fact she felt the need to express her displeasure rather satisfying, he must be getting to her somewhat at least, or thats what he told himself. the thought made him somewhat giddy and he let this pleasure leak out through his eyes as he gave Temba a bright and happy look.
"Are you saying you wish for me to stay then - I must admit I'm rather flattered to have a pretty creature such as yourself desire my presence" Kynon remarked in an alluring voice "It is good to know that at least some foxes recall how to be polite" He concluded in a blatant very slimly veiled insult.

Caloki rolled her eyes, of course Temba wished him to stay. She was the type of fox who wanted anyone she met to stay, the same offer had been extending to Caloki but she had declined. There was far to much to see and do in the world to settle down right now. Now it was getting really interesting. Would Kynon agree to stay with Temba and give up on following herself around. Caloki hoped so.
She snorted slightly at Kynon's comment about being polite. She didn't have to be polite just to appease everyone around her. Why should she bow down to everyone's whim just to keep them happy and make herself miserable at the same time. No, she wouldn't do that, she would much rather continue on as she always did, bringing about unhappiness to others.

"Well I cannot decide or make one stay if they don't want to." She replied in a happy toned voice. "But it would be nice to have some more neighbors around here." She had certainly fallen for his charm quite fast. Not always would she suggest to a male to stick around after only just meeting them, but Kynon just had that way about him that made Temba not think straight.
She glanced over at Caloki when she snorted. Poor thing, she thought, must be jealous of all the attention I'm getting from Kynon, if only there was a fox for her. Her gaze went back to Kynon. "Politeness is very important in these parts. The other foxes around here all believe in being polite at all times. It is why I made my home here. For their ideals matched mine." She smiled slightly. "Which is why you would fit in so well. You show a good deal of politeness."

Kynons ear flicked slightly at Caloki's snort - he must really be getting to her. This was great! The purple fox was quite pleased with himself for coming up with this idea, everyone knew a female who was playing hard to get would come around if you got them jealous or they thought you might be interested in another - its just the way females were.
"oh?" Kynon pretended to ponder Temba's words - honestly he didn't give a wit about staying in the area - or about the morals and ideals of the foxes who lived around here. He highly doubted 'good moral foxes' would enjoy his presence once they got to know him in any case - and it amused him slightly to see the way Temba thought of him. "Well then..perhaps you can show me around some?..i'm sure your friend would enjoy a little walk as well, she's looking a bit peaked just sitting around" Kynon cast a concerned glance at Caloki -somehow he thought Temba would like that, would think him kind and sensitive for thinking of Caloki's welfare. With his head turned so that Temba couldn't see the expression on his face Kynon gave Caloki a little wink.
