I got bored and downloaded google's sketchup. it was a pain in the a** at first. I didn't know how to operate it. Once I finally got the hang of it I started working on my plans for next year. nothing too elaborate right now. Same basic desk layout with a few changes. Everything is to scale except the window and ceiling height.

Two profires, a chameleon labs 7720 stereo compressor. mac mini, ssl x-desk. yamaha hs50ms. a 22" lcd monitor. I forgot the keyboard. I couldn't find one. it shouldn't be too hard to make though.

I have some more ideas to keep me busy tomorrow.

So I made my ultimate semipro home mockup rig. I added a wider desk with a pair of Adam A7 monitors, two more x-desks and the stereo bus compressor. Although the extra x-desks are not needed nor is the stereo compressor. since the white rack unit below the profires is the chameleon labs 7720 is indeed a clone of the ssl compressor.

I also added room treatment, bass traps, some high frequency absorption panels, and a diffuser on the back wall.... and a couch. I was going to make a chair but that is way too difficult. the models were all shitty too.





I just started to make the wiring for the rack. that big black thing there would be the dsub connection from the x-desk. three is definitely overkill. I can see how two would be useful though.

Most likely, the next monitor I buy will be black.

I'm making the snakes from the x-desks to the profires right now.

weird. we had them in our mobile rigs running pt 7.4 le on a digi 002. eek
the new mac minis are great though. at $799 it outperforms my macbook. .....barely. 2.5 ghz dual core and 320 Gb hd, and 4gb of ram standard. plus dual monitoring is possible. One for mix and the other for pron.

You are a nut and I love you. You need to pick me out some monitors and a sub.

How big are your rooms?
