Ankoku used the room key to open the door, instantly noticing the black walls of the single-room dorm. “Wow,” he thought. “I always wanted a black room.” Ankoku tossed his bag on the desk in the corner opposite the bed and sprawled himself out on the bed, closing his eyes and letting out a deep sigh. He silently listened to the bustling of the students around his room. “At least I have my own room,” Ankoku stated, thinking about how he should have brought his radio. Quickly, he jumped up and reached into his bag, pulling out a pencil and sketchbook. He began drawing while waiting for the halls to become silent. He wanted to explore the school, and he wanted to do it by himself. As he drew, he thought about the school. A school for monsters, he thought. Finally a place I might belong completely...

Darklyte was wandering around with nothing to do when she caught a new scent in the male dorm. She walks through the hallway and notices a room that used to be vacant no longer is. Who could this be? Darklyte wonders to herself. She approaches the door and knocks. Her eyes a deep green color due to not knowing the person. Her white wolf ears with black tips are alert, searching for any sounds behind the door. Her white wolf tail, also with black tip, cautiously sways gently behind her.

Ankoku heard a knock on his door. He slowly closed the sketchbook, tucking it under his pillow. "Come in..." he said, wondering who would want to come into his room so soon.

Darklyte's left ear twitches as she hears the new student tell her to enter. Better do it the old fashioned way. Darklyte thinks to herself. She then reaches out her hand and turns the door handle, her long black fingernails glistening. She pokes her head in, her eyes almost glowing green and her wolf ears acting like satellites, checking for any danger.

Ankoku watched as the door opens, a girl with bright green eyes entering. He offered her the seat next to the desk, not moving from the bed.
"Hello. I am Ankoku Fang. Who are you?" Ankoku asked politely.

Darklyte walks over to the seat, but doesn't sit. She remains standing and bows. "I am Darklyte." She then stands up straight again. "Nice to meet you Ankoku. I noticed that you are new here."

"Yes, I am new..." Ankoku replied. "Why don't you sit?" He sat up and stared at Darklyte, smiling. "So, you gonna be my first friend here?"

Darklyte is a bit wary, but she sits cross-legged on the floor instead of the chair. The group of bandits she grew up with never really had chairs, and she finds them uncomfortable anyways. She shrugs her shoulders to Ankoku's question. "I don't know, who all have you already met?" Darklyte asks as she keeps alert.

"No one, really. I only just got here," Ankoku replied simply. He looked out the window for a second. "

"Really?" Darklyte asks. She follows his gaze out of the window, not sure as to what to say, she is still getting used to being around people.

"Yeah. To be honest, I haven't had a friend since my seventh birthday..." Ankoku mumbled. "That's the day my parents died..."

Darklyte lowers her ears out of respect. "I'm sorry. I don't know if it helps at all, I don't even know my parents."

Ankoku's face stares in surprise at Darklyte. "Wait, I said that out loud?!" he exclaimed. "Listen, I don't want anyone to know about this, but I guess I'll tell you so you understand what I'm talking about..."
"On my seventh birthday, my parents were taking me out to eat at the most expensive restaurant in town. But when we were crossing the bridge over the river, a semi swerved into our lane and clipped the side. Our car was thrown into the guardrail. Then it bounced into the opposite lane and a jeep slammed into it. Our car was flipped off the bridge. I only survived because I was alive when the car went over and jumped out before it hit the water... My parents were killed on the second impact..." Ankoku said sadly. He then looked at Darklyte. "Please don't tell anyone about this. Anyone who ever knew about this and known I was a monster has accused me of doing it."

Darklyte's ears shoot up. "Oh, my apologies. My hearing is too good for my own good." Darklyte intently listens to Ankoku, not really knowing about the majority of what he is talking about, mainly the vehicles. "Well, if you say that you didn't do it then you didn't do it." Darklyte then nods. "You have given me no cause to not believe what you say and you have my word that I won't tell anyone as well."

Ankoku smiled warmly at Darklyte. "Thanks for that. And thank you for believing me, too." He slides over to the side of his bed closest to Darklyte. "So... I'm obviously a freshman. What year are you?"
