Okay, what is the difference between:

Royalty Free
Copyright Free
Permission Free

?

I'm trying to buy some art books that I can use the designs for my own work but I'm somewhat confused on what each one really means. Anyone have any answers, please let me know. Thanks.

And apparently this wasn't suitable for the 'questions and assistance' forum so I posted it here because I know you guys aren't pigheaded like that...it was a question afterall xd

OK I'm pretty sure you want copyright free items if you wan to legally us ethem in your artwork.

Royality free usually 1 time fee.

Permission free means you have to read the fine print- they may only allow use for personal use and not for public display.

There are many web sites just search free vector graphics and the artwork that is legal to scan and use is usually posted at those sites- Sorry I can't think of one of the top of my head.

Hope it helps. But remember hope many artists do all things the legal way so I'd say if you're not planning to display or enter in competition use what you want I'm sure prosecution is extremly rare.

Royalty free means you don't have to pay royalties, means its basically yours, once you have payed for it, or if it is being offered free.
