So I have been gone, a long long time. Interest in Gaia is waning but still nice to see friends. Gave Jinsei most of my stuff...anyways. We all love Japanese stuff in being upon a purely anime forum. I'm living in Japan right now because of class,

Any questions you want to know about Japanese people since being here? Not trying to stroke my ego and SAY HAR HAR HAR I'm in Japan and you're not. I honestly don't like it here, I'd trade razz

heart heart Must luv to the muffers heart heart 4laugh :

And If my grammer is wierd, I'm terribly sorry. Japanese and english mind sets switching off do not make Sei memorable. Oh no.

Hey, Dei! That's awesome that you are over there! Actually, my fiance and I are trying to get a job with Nova Group to go over there and teach English for a year. (We are supposed to re-apply in May, we can't go until September, after I get my B.A.) I have so many questions I'm not sure what to ask, so I suppose I'll start with the most important one. How have you been? Are you loving every minute over there? What sort of class has brought you to Japan? Are you in a nice area or is it too cold/hot? Anyway, it was great to see you again, even if it wasn't for long, I hope you find time to get on and leave us another message soon. *big hug* heart whee

Hehe just a short time at least. Well at the moment I am fine except really stressed. The program I am in is like 10 Credit class so I'm really really busy. Hmm, I'm a Japanese major so my language brought me here to try and make it better hehe. I don't really like it too much here because the people are being mean, so I haven't really done anything so hence if anyone wants to trade, go right on ahead. Right now its really really really cold, if you do plan to do bring lots of airy clothes for the Summer and long johns and stuff for the winter. The price for heating and cooling is really really expensive in Japan so you just mostly bring tiny heaters and fans to keep you warm hehe. *snugs*

That sounds like a fun major, are you planning on being an interpretor or working for an anime/manga company or being a translator or something completely different? Are you saying people are mean in Japan or on Gaia? Yeah, I've heard about the poor heating/cooling, so my fiance and I are going to try and get positioned toward the north because we can always snuggle in the cold, but you can only do so much to get cool when it's hot. wink

heart Dei-chan! I haven't spoken to you since, like, middle school!

Nnn, Japanese major? I'm jealous, I can't seem to find time to study any Japanese seriously...maybe I ought to slack off less...anyway, nice to see yeh still alive and things.

Are there a lot more games over there? And manga too? Sounds pretty cool...do you like the food? I don't think I would...

Wow Japan..i've always wanted to go over there to view the cherry blossoms.

So I have a question. Is it hard to adjust to life over there once you live there for a while?

*takes all the Muffers to visit Kyoto with her and oogle at the temples and eat Soba!*

Kaiyo: Hmm as for my Japanese major, I'm not quite sure. I want to do something fun and casual. So either interpeting because I'm a stickler for correctness and Japanese to English to back is fun at least. But to be honest I have no clue, I don't really care either I just want to get out of school. I do hope that where-ever that you and your boyfriend decide that it's fun for the both of you! And it's mostly the English students here studying Japanese that are giving me a hard time. blargh.

Madsie: Congrats upon being in Highschool. Just take it one step at a time and I'm sure you'll do fine. Well I think the game genre is more upon the more animish theme then over in Amercia. We definately produce more movies but they have us beat in games...and well, of course Manga! There's litterally walls of it here. It rivals our comic books I guess in the same nature. If I could I would send you some. I got the latest Fruit Basket one and I've been happily translating it with my limited Japanese whee.

Diav: *sends Diav to Japan with her* *gives her lots of food, *grins***

Welcome to the Muffcakers Khalan! Nice to meet you smile

Life here is...tough per say more so that the language barrier takes some getting used to. At first it's like, wow. And then after that it's like, god, what the heck is this kanji supposed to say *stare* What the hell am I buying? And the like, to finally having a comfortable enough time to figure out what the kanji may mean and what they are saying to the comfort of their voices.
That and riding a bike in the cold sucks. Majorly. I can't wait to drive a car again.

If you are ever in Japan, food to buy: Udon, Soba, Takoyaki (Octopus balls. Before you go gross! They are really delicious, taste good with mayo!) Currey, Sushi, Tempura, some kind of egg soup cassarole thing...just lots of good stuff. Don't be afraid to try everything at least once. And if you can't read what it says upon the menu but you understand the picture, when the waitress comes over just point to the picture and say
'Kore wa hitotsu onegaishimasu. (koh-rey wah hee-toe-sue oh-ney-guy-she-mah-sue) which basically means one please smile Hope that helps!

I can't believe anyone could give you a hard time, you are just so nice. I guess everyone has to be stupid every now and then.

I'm sure there are plenty of fun things you can do with the major. I am hoping that I can learn Japanese well enough to become a translator for anime or manga, I often find that fan translations are better than the corporations, I think it is because the fans really care about the quality of the product, so I seek to offer this kind of service, but I don't think I'll actually be able to learn it that well while I'm there. At least maybe my experience will help me to get a job as a manga editor, I hate all the errors in manga that could be so simply caught. Speaking of manga, you said you just got the latest Furuba, I just got the most recent English volume: 12. What are you up to out there? Does it get insanly good as I expect?

Actually, I'm kind of excited about not driving a car over there, I think it will really help me lose some weight and I'll feel like I'm doing something nice for the environment. Of course, I'm probably still going to end up riding the trains. Do you think we will have a really difficult time finding our way around? I've heard that cell phones are crucial because you can get the train schedules and such straight to your cell in English. I do feel a little better about it since I'm going over with someone, so it's not like I'll be alone in it; plus, Nova group sets you up in a sort of support group when you get over there with all of the other teachers that are over there, so that should help, too.

Food-wise, I'm a little scared, I hate seafood, especially fish. Hopefully I will be able to find a lot of other things to eat out there. I'll be sure to learn that phrase before I leave, though! 3nodding
