(payr.eye.DOH.lee.uh) n. The erroneous or fanciful perception of a pattern or meaning in something that is actually ambiguous or random.
—pareidolic adj.
"The phenomenon of seeing a familiar shape or form in random combinations of shadows and light is known as Pareidolia or Matrixing."
"a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon, and hearing hidden messages on records played in reverse."
I've noticed a lot of people aren't familiar with what Pareidolia is and I think it's important than you're informed before you jump to paranormal right away.
More people know it by the term Matrixing. I think a lot of people take it as a sign, miracle, or paranormal event when most of the time it isn't.
There is also auditory Pareidolia, which works the same with sounds. This applies to EVPs.
I still believe that EVPs can catch things, and photographs as well but not as often as many people think.
