Eacles had been waiting quite a while for this, indeed - ever since that grey heathen and his multi-colored companion had chased him away before he could punish the foolish little mare. Eacles was not a creature who forgot such an event however, and the grudge he held against the mare for her insolence and the embarrassment she had caused him had continued to gnaw at his gut like the hungry jaws of a canine on a carcass.
This festering urge for revenge however was about to come to fruition the swirled stag thought to himself as he looked down at the female below. He had spotted her entering the dry stream bed from his post under a shade tree- and in her silly rambling she had failed to notice him. Her mistake was his gain, because quite shortly she would reach a dead end in the stream - some rock slide ages ago had blocked the path. The only way out was back the way she came..and Eacles planned to be waiting for her. Mischa was having a pretty good day so far - it wasn't to hot out, nor was it too cold, the sky was blue, the grass was green and she didn't have any pressing problems t deal with - as far as Mischa was concerned this was reason enough to celebrate the day as a good one.
With nothing better to do the ebony and golden brown mare had decided to go exploring, wandering into a part of the valley she had never been to before. The Dry stream bed had proven to be far to tempting to disregard and so sliding down the bank on her haunches, she had danced down the pathway, stirring up little puffs of dust at each step.
It was fairly disappointing when she came across the rock slide, and she would have to backtrack all the way out of the ravine now to fly over it due to the overgrowth of tree's above, sighing slighly - but determined not to let this small set-back ruin her day the little mare spun about and struck up a jaunty tune with the intentions of starting back the way she had come. Her happy thoughts were quickly dashed however when upon turning she came face to face...with him. Eacles was quite pleased by the shocked look on the mares face when she turned around and saw him..and he wasn't about to give her a chance to gather her wits either. She was trapped and caught off guard and Eacles had a bone to pick with her.
"Thats right wench..you've had this coming for a long time!" he snarled at her before launching himself forwards with intention of barreling into her shoulder and knocking her to the ground.

The sun's rays beat down upon the white mare's back as she wandered D'ob. Thus far, today had been long and boring. She had no friends and didn't quite know where her family might be. Sure the weather was nice but it couldn't cheer her up. Today, she was simply irritated. Lately it seemed all she did was wander. Oh yes she met others, but no one that had truly interested her or had stayed long enough to. No, she was quite alone. Lina heaved a sigh and continued on. Maybe something would come along and improve her day. And, as if by magic, something indeed come along. Not too far in the distance stood a Reya. An all too familiar Reya. Eacles. That one name made her blood boil. She had only a moment to wonder who his latest victim was when she saw him charge toward an unfamiliar Ichsa. That was it. The mare had had enough of this coward. Today he would not leave unscathed. As fast as she could, she took off racing at the stallion aiming to hit him square in the shoulder. She might a hand shorter than the Reya but she was bulky and kept in shape.

Mischa didn't have much time to respond to Eacles threat before the yellow stallion was suddenly bolting towards her, letting out a loud yelp of terror she tried to dodge out of his way, unfortunately for her she neglected to notice a half exposed root on the ground. Catching the root with a back hoof she stumbled and eyes widening looked up into the quickly approaching eyes of Eacles. Eyes that were filled with glee at his helpless victim.
Due mostly to the ill fated root appearance..and partially because of her own slow processing of danger Mischa knew there was simply no way she could avoid the charging stallion now.
"HELP!" She screeched - in the hopes that someone was close enough to hear her, though she didn't hold out much hope in that. It seemed far to lucky to be thusly saved twice by strangers.
But then as if by magic it seemed her call had been answered, a white and brown blur came streaking down the sandy path with her eyes set rather firmly on Eacles and even Mischa - who wasn't versed in such things as fighting took a shark intake of breath over the collision that was sure to result.
Eacles was far to intent on the frightened look in Mischa's eyes to take notice of Esterlina's approaching hoof beats, indeed it wasn't until the object of his ire widened her eyes and seemed to be glancing over his shoulder that Eacles thought something might be up. Slacking his stride slightly the yellow stallion turned his head slightly to see what Mischa was looking at.
WHAM!
Far to late to stop - or even register the white mares charge Eacles whose weight had been thrown off by the turning of his head was knocked nearly completely off his feet, knees sliding painfully across the ground.
And even as this pain registered to the cowardly stallion who was quickly rethinking the choices he'd made in attacking Mischa, Eacles was wondering just what it was about the mare which made her such an elusive target. Two time now his plans had been foiled by the surprise arrival of another.
Gaining his feet once more the stallion whirled about to see just who it was that had ruining his chances this time, he half expected it to be that wretched grey beast..Helios had he been called? But that was not to be so.
"You!" He snapped at the mare "Shouldn't you be on the beach protecting worthless animals?" he taunted her.

The mare was pleased as she made contact with the stallion. She had waited long for this moment and would remember it. However, the force of the collision knocked her breath right out of her and she had to focus for a few moments and catch her breath. As soon as she regained her balance she took a fighting stance. She was ready to charge again if she needed too and wanted the stallion to know. It was time for him to stop picking on creatures who could not protect themselves.
"Obviously I was needed elsewhere" Her words were cold and filled with hate. The mare wanted to check on the Ichsa but didn't dare move. Eacles seemed to be the type to take a cheap shot while she was distracted. Besides, she didn't think he'd managed to touch her.

Mischa meanwhile had managed to regain her own footing and looked up just in time to see Eacles rising up from his knees and whirling about to face the unknown mare - well unknown to her anyways by the look Eacles was giving her and his words it quickly became apparent that the two had met before.
"Oh thank you so much!" Mischa wailed at the white mare, she really had a hard time believing that this stallion was so mean - but it was becoming quite apparent that it must be true. "I think he has been following me for quite a while" She stated - having just come to this conclusion herself and seemingly quite shocked by it. Why on earth would he do such a thing?
"Ha! well at least you've moved up to protecting bigger worthless creatures" Eacles retorted to Esterlina while he took in her prepared state - this was certainly not going to plan. Why did none of his plans ever work out?.
Quite maddened by this thought Eacles - even as cowardly as he normally was couldn't help but react to Mischa's comment and stupidly took his eyes off Esterlina "Be quiet you!" He yelled at Mischa before cocking his hind leg back to aim a kick at her.

Lina was about to reply to the other mare when the stallion spoke. "None more worthless than you." She growled, more than said. For far too long had Eacles gotten away with picking on others. Well not anymore. She was not leaving without teaching him a lesson.
Quickly Lina pulled herself into a position better ready to charge. She watched as the stallion turned his attention to the Ichsa mare. Esterlina didn't hesitate. Immediately she took her chance while Eacles' guard was down and charged for him once again. This time her horn gleamed under the sun's light. It wasn't meant to be a killing blow, but it was meant to draw blood. She would not allow him to hurt this mare.

Mischa took a step backwards and lowered her head slightly as Eacles turned his attention towards her. She didn't really want to get into a fight with him - Mischa just wasn't much of a fighter, but she'd already apologized for bumping into him a long time ago and it hadn't seemed to help much then. She doubted it would help now.
Huffing out a deep breath she watched him warily from behind her lengthy forelock, jerking backwards as he made to kick her. For all of Mischa's reluctance to get into a fight however - it seemed the white mare had no such compunction and darted forward again.
Eacles realized almost as soon as he did it that taking his eyes off Esterlina had been a foolish idea. Time seemed to slow down slightly as Mischa jerked back from his threatened kick and Eacles tried to correct his mistake by turning his attentions back to Esterlina. Too late! his mind screamed at him as the sunlight gleamed from Lina's brandished weapon. Run! was his second thought and that kicked him into gear, bunching his muscles the yellow stallion plunged sideways to try and escape Esterlina's strike, running half up oto the embankment as her horn scraped along his side opening a long but shallow gash as he darted past and ran back up the stream bed. Damn them mares!..they hadn't seen the last of him! He told himself, he'd find them both again someday..and they'd be sorry when he did.

The white mare shook her horn to rid it of any blood it had collected. She didn't want any part of the stallion touching her. Even if it was a wound she had inflicted. She grinned in triumph and stood a few moments and watched as he took off. Then, before she decided to chase after him, she turned her attention to the Ichsa mare. The Ichsa seemed to be okay. Perhaps a little frightened but, it seemed, Eacles hadn't had a chance to touch her before Esterlina had arrived.
"I'm sorry about him." She motioned to the fleeing shadow. "He's just scum. I'm Esterlina." She greeted the other mare.
Well, she wasn't a fighter but she would have to learn how to take care of herself. Especially with a Stallion like Eacles following her. Lina was sure the stallion would be back eventually. He was afraid to fight, yes, but Lina wouldn't be surprised if he convinced someone else to go after her. Eacles' wasn't a fighter but she was sure he could find one.

Everything happened pretty fast for Mischa - once second she was cringing back from what she was sure was going to be a good kick from the surly stallion and the next the beast was plunging up the banks spraying dirt everywhere with the sun gleaming off his red blood as he galloped off. It took her a few moments to process everything and by that time the white mare was speaking to her.
"I'm just..I don't understand why he's so angry at me" she stated after a few moments of thought "I backed into him once on accident and even though I said sorry he just doesn't seem mollified: She clarified - knowing that the white mare wouldn't have any idea what she was talking about. "I'm very glad you came along Esterlina, i'm not much of a fighter - who knows what might have happened if you hadn't"

That was Eacles' for you. Pick on a helpless, well, anything it seemed. Lina looked at the mare again just to make sure she was really okay. Once she was sure she was, Lina answered the mare.
"It was because he sees you as weaker than him. Someone he can pick on torture for his own pleasure." She had tried to think of a nicer way to tell the other mare but there just wasn't any. Eacles' was sick, plain and simple. "I doubt he'll stop following you either. I don't really know if i made it worse or not but I do know that you probably shouldn't be wandering around by yourself."

Mischa blinked for a few moments - she had a hard time fathoming why someone would be so purposefully cruel, to pick on someone just for the sake of t - and find pleasure in it? How could causing pain be even remotely fun, it just didn't make any sense to Mischa - but he had definitely managed to spoil what had started out as a good day.
Of course her pondering on why Eacles did such things was brought to an abrupt halt when she heard the mares last statement and she snapped her head up, eyes widening in alarm. Helios had saved her the first time and now Esterlina the second, she couldn't keep relying on others to come along whenever she got into trouble now could she? But Mischa just couldn't see herself trying to fight someone off either. She's feel horribly guilty if she hurt someone - even if it was in self defense. Mischa was just to tender hearted for her own good.
"But..what am I supposed to do then?" She asked rather perplexed at the situation "I don't really know anyone around here" She sighed "Thats not really your problem though is it?" She smiled slightly "I do thank you for helping me, I suppose I will just have to try and be more vigilant in the future..now that I have a nutty stalker."

Lina sighed inwardly as the mare told her she didn't know anyone. This was going to be a problem. The Ichsa might be slightly annoying and a little too naive but Esterlina couldn't leave her on her own. If and when Eacles' came back for her she would be defenseless. The mare wasn't sure if the stallion would actually kill her, but whatever was left of her after he was done would not be pretty. All that would be left of this perky little Ichsa was a ghost of a shell. Lina might not be bright, but it wasn't exactly that hard to figure out.
"Well," She started. "I suppose you could come with me. Neither of us wants you to end up at his mercy. Not now not ever."
The mare moved a little closer to the Ichsa. Her only choice was to tag along with the mare. She had contemplated teaching her to fight, although she doubted it would do too much good.
"Maybe we could be friends." She said. "With me around, when he comes back you'll be safe. I could even teach you how to fight. If you can learn to defend yourself than perhaps you won't have to be around anybody."

It didn't seem as though Lina was looking forward to having a tag-along, but then Mischa was pretty sure she wouldn't be to happy hving to look out for someone all the time either - especially someone she hardly knew. but then again - maybe she was just disappointed that her day had been messed up too, Mischa decided to go with that explanation and perked up slightly at the thought of making a friend.
"Two sets of eyes are better then one" She allowed not wanting to seem too terribly desperate not to be left alone "I guess it might be best to travel together at least for a little bit, to see if he comes back around"
Mischa wasn't to sure about the whole teaching to fight bit - but nodded slightly anyways, wouldn't do to seem ungrateful for the offer after all - although she was pretty sure any attempts on that front would just end in disaster. "Sure..if you think you can teach me"

Esterlina gave a little nod at the mares words. She really should cheer up, but the situation had been irritating. Then again she had gotten to beat up on Eacles. The thought put a rather large grin on her face. Yes, today might very well be a great, perhaps wonderful day.
"Agreed." She replied. "Two sets of eyes are most definitely better than one. Were you going anywhere in particular? Lately I just seem to be roaming around a lot by myself lately."
Well, she did hope she might be able to teach the mare to fight, or at least run. In any case, that lesson would have to wait for another day. Right now they should probably start looking for cover before it got dark. It wasn't really too late. But Lina was starting too get a bit hungry. Her stomach then rumbled quite loudly as if on cue with her thoughts.
"Oh!" She exclaimed, a little surprised. "Excuse me." The mare then giggled a little at her stomach. Apparently she was quite a bit hungrier than she had originally thought to be.

Mischa glanced behind her at the rockslide that had proven to be more then just a dissapointment in teh exploration department . It was a bit to late to find out what was behind it now and turning back to Lina she shook her head. "Not really, I was just exploring" She stated.
And looking at Lina, Mischa suddenly recalled that she had yet to introduce herself - how incredibly rude of her! Well there was certainly time to fix that now she supposed, since they were going to be spending some time together. "I think I saw a nice clover patch at the mouth of the stream bed" She offered a they started back up the pathway "My name is Mischa by the way - I expect I should have introduced myself soon - but so much going on, I just didn't think of it" she apologized.
