If the anime didn't show the true identity of Zero, would of you been able to guess correctly? I think I would because Lelouch uses a strategy that'll give him the upper advantage in the battlefield like in chess.

Zero has a Voice changer(Although a very crappy one) that changes his voice to be a little bit more electronic.
