Island of Moreau Vice Captain

This area lays off to the north end of the West Beach, in the shadow of the mountain. A chain link fence surrounds the miniature golf course, but one can easily see through the links to the course inside. The entrance to the park is like a large archway; above it stands the sign, a large golden crown with the three creators above it. The words ?The 3 Kings Presents: The 9 Wonders? is written in bold black paint across it and the crown itself it bordered with many lights that light it up at night. Just inside the entrance is The Caddy Shack, a small stand that houses a bucket full of golf balls and a shelf of putting irons with different coloured handles. On a shelf inside sits a jar of pencils also, and many copies of score cards to keep track of your total. The park itself houses nine small golf courses, each based around a wonder of the world. While not expertly crafted, they all certainly get the point across of what they represent, and are certainly playable. Each are numbered from one to nine, have short barriers around the edges to bounce the ball off of. The tee point is clear though, to allow a swing. The holes are described below: 1. The Sphinx (Par 2): The green is a straight lane from beginning to end. The great Sphinx is the only obstacle, standing in the middle of the path, leaving a gap on either side of it. The hole is a few feet behind the Sphinx. 2. The Taj Mahal (Par 2): The great building blocks the straight path. Through it though is a hole, and a ramp on either side of it to putt through the hole. Behind the building the green curves to the right and the hole is at the end. 3. The Pyramids (Par 2): Again the green is straight, all the way to the hole, but it has obstacles. There is both a water hazard and sand trap first. The sand to the left only a few feet in, and the water hazard a few feet more along and to the right. Both of these obstacles look like a desert and an oasis alike. Near the back stand two great pyramids. The sit at an angle and overlap each other, making a straight shot impossible. There is a gap between them though, like a path on a diagonal towards the hole in the left back corner. 4. The Eiffel Tower (Par 3): This green bends from the start, turning to the right a few feet in, on a forty-five degree angle into the straight. The obstacle in the way is the tower itself, beneath its supports lay a trap of walls, all pointing towards the middle. A shot straight through will get you through it, and probably into the hole in the back. But to hit one of the walls while underneath, will send the ball either right or left and into a gutter like system. This rolls your ball back to the corner bend near the beginning. 5. The Empire State Building (Par 3): Again a straight green, this one fairly narrow as the building itself blocks the path. The building?s windows also all light up with small Christmas lights inside the structure. The building has three main doors in the front that are actually a holes; the objective is to hit the ball into one of the holes. If you hit the ball into the first door, it will be carried up the building and rolled out the top floor down a ramp to the back where the hole rests. Hitting into the second door will just drop it on the other side of the building, and not down the ramp. Hitting it into the third door will spit the ball out near the tee. 6. The Leaning Tower of Pisa (Par 3): The green here is snake like in its path, curvy, so a straight shot is impossible, but not impossible to shoot all the way through to the hole. The obstacles here is the tower of Pisa itself. It sits in the middle of a stretch of the curve, a hole at its base. One has to hit the ball hard enough to go up the ramp and out the ?top? of the tower, but not too hard or else the ball will bypass the curve shortly after the ejection point and fall out of the green. 7. The Roman Coliseum (Par 3): The green is actually in the shape of a ?V?, the hole is actually right near you at the start. The first part of the path has several small walls in the path, right to the corner, which rests the Coliseum. There are six ramps onto the Coliseum, the next one higher than the last, all leading onto the levels of seating. The objective is to try and hit the ball up one of these ramps, obviously the higher the level you want to hit to, the harder it is to get up its ramp. The first leads to a small wall on the other side, it doesn?t stop you from continuing around it, the second has a divot in the middle of its path, meant to stop the ball and costing you a shot. The third is a straight path through; though you ball will not end up near the hole. The fourth has a hole in the path; falling into it will spit the ball out near the tee. The fifth has a gap in its wall, making it easy for the ball to fall into the fourth path and therefore the hole that spits you to the beginning. The sixth path goes straight through again, though it is the hardest path to hit up into, it shoots the ball towards the hole at the end of the green, likely to go in. 8. The Grand Canyon. (Par 4): The course here is a snake way of mountains with twists and turns with mountains around the edges to depict the Grand Canyon. The course has many bumps and rock barriers to block the path all the way to the hole. It is definitely one of the hardest holes yet. 9. The Great Barrier Reef (Par 5): The hardest green (or blue, since the ground is actually blue on this one) in the course is actually straight. What actually poses a challenge is the many steep wave like hills. Adding to the challenge is coral banks that block the path like walls. And then there?s the hole itself, which sits on a small island at the end. The island is actually a hill, where hole sits in the middle, making it impossible to tap the ball in close to the hole and knock it in.

Ambrose laughed and held up a hand. "Alright, alright... I give. You're being thoughtful. But, it is sweet. And I bet she's going to appreaciate it a great deal." He smiled, his tail wagging.
"And everyone should find it very useful." He paused as they got to the fence, realizing that it had been longer than he thoguht since he had last been to the beach. "wow... you've really been thinking this out! I hope that I'll be of help." He winced. "Angelina... well.. she was right - strength isn't precisely my forte. I'm a good fencer... I'm quick... but..." he scratched the back of his head. "yeah..."
Chubbs chuckled and still couldn't remove the redness from his cheeks, he hoped everyone would like the idea. Chubbs began to undo the lock and pulled the chain free from the gate, dumping it on the ground. He smiled at Ambrose and mock punched his shoulder.
" Well.. in boxing, everyone has a strength and weakness.. mines endurance... but I ain't fast..Ya may say ya not strong.. but ya smart, and probaly quick... and ah.. ya probably got like precision eyes and nimble fingers for the delicate work. Any way.. umm.. enough time here and ah.. you'll be buffin yaself out.. and ya missy with be all over ya like a bear on honey"
Chubbs grinned and opened the gate to the work area. He'd been busy already, There was all the tools they needed with some of the supplies, and the the ground already marked out.
It was Ambrose's turn to blush, albeit most of the redness was covered by the fur. "Well.... I suppose you're right. And don't think I'm trying to shirk my duties - but I just wanted to warn you that I might not be quite so good at the heavy lifting as you might have assumed. And... well... who knows." He shuffled his feet in the sand. "Though I don't want to be... musclebound or anything!" He replied. "Even if... there aren't any more competitions... I still want to keep fencing as best I can with the equipment that I have and any other interested parties."
Ambrose stepped into the enclosure and looked around at what the landscape offered. "Well... looks like we've got a lot of work ahead of us... so... point me to what you need me to do." He held his hands out to the side.
Chubbs chuckled a little and patted Ambrose on his shoulder. Leading him inside, he locked the gate behind them, making sure no prying eyes got to ruin the surprise. Chubbs picked up a tape measure and a bit of small wood, measuring out a length on it, he marked a pen line across it. Handing that to Ambrose, he then grabbed a shovel and placed it in his other hand, and pointed to an already dug out hole.
" See ah.. that one there... well need to do the same with the rest, just make it.. ah bout.. as umm deep at the lowest point, as that umm... line I marked out there"
Ambrose watched carefully, nodding. "Well.... that doesn't look too hard, I suppose." He smiled back to Chubbs, taking the tape measure, and getting to work.
Ambrose was a dedicated worker, and learned quickly. While an amateur at construction, the tasks were broken down into simple enough pieces. He worked with Chubbs for several hours, eventually suggesting a break - needing to get back to Angelina, not wanting to leave her by herself for too long.
Chubbs wiped the sweat from his forehead anf put down the hammer his was belting nails into board with. A break would be good, he needed a smoke and something to eat, his tummy suddenly grumbled and he chuckled.
" Get goin ya lil scamp... I don't wanna be in the shits with ya girl cuz I ah.. stole ya all day"
At least it was December, Ambrose thought to himself.... as depressing as it was that he would probably never see snow again... at least it wasn't quite as blazing hot as it was when he had first arrived.
"Thanks, Chubbs! I'll help out when I can! Just come get me when you need the help!" And with that he waved him off and headed back to the village.

Chubbs thumped hard at the nail with a hammer held tightly in his hand. The nail drove in deep, it didn't take more than a few swings. The **** was almost done, he was placing the roof slats in. He'd didn't have all the confidence that he knew that he was doing, but he'd help build something similiar. Chubbs had measured six times and cut once, planned ahead first and checked everything for problems. It was simple enough but he didn't want the damn thing falling over in a storm or leaking.
Chubbs had been glad that Ambrose and Jamal had agreed to help him out, things were coming along nicely. With their help, all the digging had been dug and he was nearly done setting up to **** in the *****. He needed to get what he needed off of Moreau, hopefully the nitwit wouldn't deny his request. Chubbs always thought of escaping, he wasn't going to give it up, and he wouldn't leave anyone behind either. Chubbs hit the next nail hard, it sunk in all the way just on the first hit. In Chubbs' mind, the nail was right in the middle of Sabin's forehead.

Chubbs ran the small paintbrush over the wood very carefully. His hand still jittered a little, he always got this way trying to do fine manipulation. It was the final stroke, the one to finish the job, the one that was the full stop at the end of a sentence. Chubbs stood back and looked at his job, he smiled greatly, his teeth showing over his lips. He was feeling proud of the whole thing, with Jamal and Ambrose's help they managed to build this simple thing, but you had to be proud.
Chubbs put the brush away then walked around, checking the whole thing over. It did look good, just from a little imagination, some ideas and construction work that was solely based on how to build other things. Chubbs flicked the lights on and off, testing them. Sure enough each flicked on as he did it, even the ones over the sign. It was done, ready to go, with barely a day or so left. He didn't think it could be done, but sure enough, with the help of the others, it was. Chubbs took the paint can in a clawed hand and made his way out. He peeked out the door and took a sniff as he searched for other people. With the all clear, he stepped out and locked the gate behind him. He hoped people enjoyed it.

Chubbs in his Santa suit lead Joliette up along the sandy edge of the beach to the fenced and tarped over area. He smiled in anticipation in seeing her reaction. He stopped her a good section away from the fences and smiled to her.
" This is it... I have to unwrap it for you... mind shutting your eyes?"

Chubbs nodded and smiled, as he started undoing the fastening s holding the fence and tarp together.
" This will take a little bit, keep em shut still. You'll hear a noise or three, don't worry about it till I say so hun."
Chubbs disassembled the fences chucking them into a pile.

Chubbs took down the fences and tarp, then uncovered the large sign. Stepping into a small hut, heflicked some switched and lights flickered all over the area. Small moters turned asn whirred as the present came to life. Chubbs revealed the project Jamal, Ambrose and himself had made over the last few weeks. It was a miniature golf course, a putt putt park. There was a big sign out on the front with the words " The Three Kings Presents: The 9 Wonders" , Above were painted cutouts of the three that built it. There was a small shack near the entrance and beyond?, Nine minature golf ranges, all based around nine wonders of the world. The Pyramids, Sphinx, Empire State Building, Taj Mahal, Eifel Tower, Leaning Tower of Piza, Roman Colloseum, Great Wall of China and Great Barrier Reef. All were buld in a smaller scale and made as obsitcles in the path to the hole. Chubbs sat out the front and smiled. There by the front was a sign that said: " To the community, please enjoy this gift from us these holidays. We hope this brings some enjoyment to your lives, how ever little." Below it was signed, or in Jamals case, tagged by Jamal, Chubbs and Ambrose.

Joliette heard the tearing down of fencing stop but didn't hear the motors that were turned on it was too low a tone and even if she didn't know it her hearing was beginning to change too. She waited for David to tell her to look, she grew curious despite her day's problems. She wondered what it was but knew it couldnt be a downer on everything else that happened or would happen in the next week...

The three of them had made this? wow... she took a couple steps forward and looked at it closer, her tongue flicked out and in "Wow" she said quietly "You guys have really been busy" she mused her eyes landing on the eifel tower and staying there

Chubbs nodded his head happily,
" Mmmhmm, we made it all. The island hooked up the electricity but that's about it, oh and gave supplies. I think we did well."
Chubbs grinned and went under the arch and motioned for her to follow.

Chubbs walked her around the courses, showing her some of the moving parts, like the tower of Pisa that tilts right down and back up, trying to block the path.
" So what do ya think?"
