Between Chobi and Keantha. Keantha playing Kude and Chobi playing Moyo.
Kude yawned faintly as she flicked an ear. For the first time in months, her stomach wasn't empty. The last few days a couple of males had made kills for her, giving her energy to conintue on her journey...well she would if her damn hips would stop hurting her!
A small speck of brown and blue could be seen moving in the distance. Little Moyo was going through a stage in his life where he felt the need to try his best to be self reliant. Also he may have been trying to impress a certian female lioness step sister he was found of. So on the brown blue cub stalked in search of something impressive.
That was until a wrong step sent him tumbling down a hill. The roll was a painful trip down the rocky side of a hill. Plenty of random rocks pricked the cub as he fell landing at the base with a dull thud.
"Owwww..." Moyo shook his head sending bits of dirt scattering.
Kude arched her brow amsed as she watched the cub tumble and roll down the hill. "Graceful kid. Any other slick moves you would like to show off?" Her tone was sarcastic and bitting, but the look in her eyes wasn't cruel, just amused and mocking.
Moyo slowly turned to where the voice was coming from. His ears lowered embarrassed that some one had seen his tumble. How was he supposed to be a man if he was falling from such stupid places.
"No..." He took a step back from the bigger lioness.
Kude smirked wickedly chuckling, she generally liked cubs, they were a little stupid, but that comes from being young. Mostly she liked them, because cubs didn't judge, didn't look at her and think easy target. " Relax brat, I ain't gonna hurt ya. Even if I wanted to I couldn't."
Moyo relaxed trusting her judgement being a bit on the naive side in general.
"Alright," He smiled and tilted his head. A bit of dirt still mixed in with his mane. He didn't seem to mind or really notice.
"So .. You wont tell anyone you watched me fall right.." He looked very serious.
"Who am I gonna tell?" She arched a brow with a faint snort. Clearly she wasn't in the best of shape, thin and bony, her coat rough.
The lioness really hadn't been lying by the looks of it. She really was no threat... well maybe to a juve his size, but if he was a bit bigger shed have not been. The lion gave the lioness a soft smile.
"You could tell the meerkats..." He looked over his shoulder. It seemed the meerkats enjoyed playing tricks on the young lad.
"....you talk to dinner kid?" She smirked faintly, her eye glittering. Boy this kid really was a mess. "Ya got dirt inyour mane kid."
Moyo ran a paw threw his mane getting any excess dirt that was tangled with in. He didn't get all of it though.
"Dinner.. Thats a good way to describe them," The boy licked his chops, "They like to play tricks on me.." It was true. Since the boy was a cub he'd been the butt of many meerkat jokes and vultures. The two creatures constantly gave the boy wrong directions since he was so naive.
"I take it you don't have much luck at catching them?" She smirked faintly, wincing as she eased herself down on her belly. Standing took it's toll on her bad hips and traveling like she was....well pain was a constant companion these days.
Moyo frowned, " I havent really hunted em.." He watched the lioness lay down. She looked like she was having trouble.
"Are you alright?"
"What's it to you?" she snapped, ears canting flat back. Sighing softly she relaxed some, " Be glad you are healthy and strong kid. Being weak is no picnic."
The cub almost fell backwards when the female snapped at him. A bit of terror bled on to his face.
"I di-didnt meant anything by it.." He got up and took a few paw steps back. "I m gonna go I guess..." The cub edged away.
Kude sighed faintly "Look kid I already said I ain't gonna hurt ya...Pain just makes me grumpy ya understand?" Shaking her head again she grunted getting toher feet , " If you wanna catch those meerkats...ya gotta trick them out of their holes."
Moyo relaxed some and sat where he was listening.
"How do you trick them out of their holes?" Oh how Moyo longed to hold one of those thin bastards between his jaws and just crunch down. It was an evily delightful thought and a grin blossomed on the cubs maw.
"What gets everyone's attention kid?" She cocked her head as she watched him with a faint smile. She kinda liked to teach cubs, let them figure things out for themselves with just a little nudge in the right direction.
Moyo tilted his head thinking really hard about it. What got most peoples attention. Finally the cub shrugged.
"I give up. What gets most everyones attention?" The cub was clearly clueless.
"Food kid." Ok maybe he isn't the smartest thing around... "Everything in this world has to eat and a meerkat eats more than anything else I can think of. So you want to lure em out...find something they want to eat."
"What if I cut off their water supply?" Moyo got to thinking, "They'd need water too right?"
"You don't mess with water," she growled softly, " it too precious out here. If you mess with their water, you could ******** up and kill alot of other, innocent creatures."
Moyo felt him self fall backwards for real this time. "S-sorry.." He scrambled to his feet and backed up further this time. He didn't like the mood swings.
"I wont mess with their water I wont.." He whimpered and turned heel to head away from the lioness. She scared him and he wasn't sure why. But his heart was pounding fast in his chest.
"Dont mess with water.." He muttered to him self as he headed back home, tail tucked between his legs and all.
Kude blinked then sighed shaking her head again. Boy was cute..but obviously not right in the head. Sighing softly , Kude forced herself back to her feet to keep on traveling. Oh well, it was a long enough break. She hoped the boy would get his meerkat, and take her warning to heart.
