...this is brilliant...our BD discourages things that aren't uniform, so the entire band has the same chants...

Peepsickle ...this is brilliant...our BD discourages things that aren't uniform, so the entire band has the same chants... well, we dont do it at games or anything. Its more of something we do at the end of rehearsals. i detest the tone in which i recieved that message

Oh...well, that makes sense then... I didn't mean anything by that though. I thought you meant that your BD let you do those chants during games. ^^; We don't have a very imaginative band, so our cheers have been the same old boring ones for the last 8 years. It's all in unison too...: I should talk to my BD and see if we can get some new chants...

our sections have chants too, sorta. like, before a game, after we march out, our drum major calls out at ease so we can chill with our sections before the pregame performance, and every time before we get back into our lines, we saxes put our hands in and yell some sort of inuendo. mainly cuz saxes are pervy at our school, but typically, it has something to do with how awesome we are. haha.
man, yours is cool, though. i've always liked the word "uber"

*Sigh* and sadly I can see our trombones doing that.
And it is very "special"

It isn't really a cheer, but our flute section has a thing where we throw our drill books down and scream "Because we're awesome!!"

at the end of practices, the guard used to divide up into our smaller sections and each one would have a different cheer. the flag line (my line) had "F-L-A-G go team" and it was the dumbest thing ever. our captian kept telling us to think up a new one, but we never did. then this year, out guard is too small to divide up, so we had to come up with a new one. right off the bat, one of the freshmen came up with just "colorguard! whoop-whoop" and then all us upperclassmen felt really dumb because we couldn't think of anything for all of last year... xp

that's awsome! everyone in our low brass used to get togther in a circle before we started anything, put their hands in and said "Low brass kicks a**!" as for us saxes, we just have a special pound-it.

Sounds lame. Musicians shouldnt need an egotistical chant to make them feel talented. A true musician already knows his talent and doesnt have to flaunt it.

We do these games at band camp. One is ogres, Wizards and Elves. It is a twisted, team game of rock paper scissors where ogres beat wizards, wizards beat elves, and elves beat ogresXD If your team loses, then the other team has to run to tag your team. There are boundaries. Once past a certain point, the "safe zone", you cannot be tagged. Once tagged, you are a part of that team. Only the team who won can tag. well, it is commonly woodwinds against brass, and there is a point before we play where we can chant a team cheer. Woodwinds almost always chant:
"We kick Brass!"
Brass usually call us "Wood-Suckers." Meanies>.>

Im in the sax section, but our whole low brass has a cheer. Its done randomly through preformances, at the end of camp, and at sum games. It goes like this, "Hey luckas, do you have the time?" cuz normally its our lead trombone player, luckas. " I dont know, lets see." then he yells, "Hey low brass! What time is it? all low brass,"Game time! Huh!"

Oh non rien de rien... Oh non je ne regrette rien
The trombone cheer is the trombonist getting into a circle, hands in the middle, then jumping in circles shouting:
Section Leader: WHAT TIME IS IT? Rest of us: 'BONE TIME!
for about three times, then we throw our hands down. Wenn ich ihre Haut verließ, Der Frühling blutet in Paris!
