Lanzo awoke that morning feeling more terrible than usual. He felt snailish at first as he walked around and groaned as leaves fell all over and around him. Stupid nature. It was always making such a mess out of everything. The only reason he was so overly exhausted was because he had spent the last two days at a sort of family reunion, so he was busy entertaining and socializing with everyone he actually respected. But, now that the reunion was over he was back to his quiet life. Thank GOODNESS. When he was with his family he was a completely different being. He felt comfortable and able to be whoever he wanted. He could never feel the same way when he was away from them, though. It had been that way ever since he was a child.
It really was too exhausting to talk that much with everybody. There was a reason Lanzo chose to sort of wander and go on long adventures by himself. He wasn't sure if socializing was for him. There was something about his family that made him wonderfully exhausted at least, but that was to be expected. They were an odd bunch and could seriously cause a ruckus anywhere or any day. He was glad he had gone to see them but was just as glad to have things back to normal as well.
Now that Lanzo was starting to feel more awake and alive, he decided to walk over towards a stream he enjoyed visiting. The air although crisp was rather dry, and he seriously needed a drink of water if he was going to get some kind of energy back. He needed to start his day and go wander around. If he slept all day he'd be more pathetic then one of his lazy siblings!

Cerys took in one large gulp of air; the cool breeze flittered down her throat before settling what felt her toes sending a small chill across her body. It was going to be a great day she thought as another leaf waved its small brown hands before attempting to grab at her short black mane before making its nest with the others on the brown shrunken grass below. Maybe today she would come across someone from her family like her sister or her half crazed nephew, though in the back of her mind the small chance of crossing their paths in such a vast land would be quite a low however the other half of her mind knew that there was always a chance and while there was always a chance she could also dream and hope.
Giving a small shake of her mane she gave another grin before moving her still sleep stiff body from the small bed that she had found the evening before. Despite being a full grown mare the dark still bothered her, its deep endless skies always seemed to stretch on forever matching the ebony black color of her own coat though she could admit that she no lingered in trembling fear as she did when she was foal every time she saw the sunset. No, even her family would have to agree on the large improvement she had made on her fear as she now weaved her way through the small wiry trees that were scattered in the now thinning forest edge, soon she would see the edge of a plain. Or maybe it would be the edge of a cliff or a lake?
s**t, she had no idea where she was going again, though it probably didn’t help that she couldn’t even point in the right direction where her own mother stayed, her sense of direction was well in short, poor she had the ability to be lost within the first five minutes in which at this moment. A small smile spread across her lips, being lost was the best the way to find something new wasn’t so why not soak it up on what was going to be a great day for her.

When he finally took a sip of water he felt even more relieved and refreshed. His eyes watched as his nose caused familiar ripples to arrive in the water. When the movement cleared, he was back to staring at himself. It had been awhile since he'd seen his reflection like that. He could only think of those he resembled, and of his grandparents great legacy of children. And now? What was his legacy? What did he have to accomplish? "Hell if I know." he finally grunted, as if answering himself quickly. Well great. Now he was talking to himself. Great improvement, Lanzo. Pascale would be SO impressed with her brother's craziness.
Before he could beat himself up further, he heard a very obvious noise. His ears twitched and flicked and he snorted when he realized someone was coming. While he was dazed and arguing with himself he forgot to notice the Soquili that was heading his way. By the scent of the creature he could tell she was female and that her movements were hardly dangerous. But hm. If he was paying attention before he could have had time to escape! Now it was too late. And the other Soquili had probably noticed his presence in response.
So, all the stallion could do was glaze his eyes back and forth and watch for whatever was coming. The noise of hoof beats were much closer and louder so without hesitation he could only do one thing. "Who goes there?" he finally beckoned, while arching his shoulders and keeping his stature sturdy and strong. And why was someone walking so close to where he resided? Were they lost? At this point he really didn't care but he definitely wanted to see who was disrupting his morning!

A small hint of gleaming light danced across her face as the ripples started to slowly lull out disappearing into a darken abyss, Cerys gave a satisfy grin, at least one thought of where she was going was correct. True it was the second or maybe third of her guess still she was doing better at noticing land markings and figuring out where each of them led to another one liking thinning trees to a clearing, and rivers to larger bodies of water. Now, trying to memorize all those landmarks to where she was standing was a whole new story that she wasn’t going to concern herself with at that moment, instead her mind was now focused to what was in front of her, the rippling water.
Shaking her head in the same fashion that she had seen her aunt do, Cerys picked up her step even just the thought of taking a sweet gulp of such cool drink seemed to ease her dry mouth, but her body froze at the edge. Her feet started to sink into the soft ground as her ears flattened, STUPID! How many times would her father’s voice ring into her head before it would start to settle in, look before you leap! Her mind was so absorbed into obtaining want that her eyes never looked for another moving body and now she was caught in a corner like mouse.
Maybe... maybe they didn’t see her as a panic voice throbbed through her body, her feet taking a step back. Maybe she could still sneak away? No, her body shuddered as a voice sounded, he, or at least by the voice a he, knew Cerys was there. Shaking her head trying to ease the stuttering of fear out of her throat she replied, “I do Sir.”

When he heard the mare finally admit to being present he strode a few paces forward before seeing a dark figure standing at the same riverbank on the other side of the trees. Goodness. Had they not noticed each other?! That was a strange. Maybe Lanzo was more tired then he thought. At least the mare wasn't threatening in breed. Although he imagined she was probably worried judging by his traits and appearance. "Uh, morning." he finally said, after staring her down for quite some time.
Well this was awkward. He was not good at stimulating any sort of conversation, especially when it was with a stranger. Nor did he really want to... "How did you find this stream?" Yes, that was an important question to ask. At the moment this was HIS area of rest. Why did she think she was allowed to come in and barge on his territory? Although.. his parents had always taught him not to be an a*****e like that. He was now officially confused.
"Look, I won't cause you any trouble, so when you are finished please just go on your way and continue on with your life." And with that, the stallion walked past the young mare and made a comfortable spot in front of the water. Without hesitation he took another drink and grinned as the water went down his throat. Yep, his siblings would be 'proud'.

As the figure of the voice moved Cerys body gave a small sigh of relief the familiar four legs with hooves, the cascading mane only meant that whoever it was he was another soquili. With her own fault of naivety it never crossed her mind that other soquili could possibly kill her with an easy fatal lunge to her soft neck plunging their sharpen teeth and ripping back exposing the bare red beating rush beneath. No, Cerys continued to face the visitor with a rather large grin, the thought of death would have been something that would have crossed her father’s mind, never the mare’s. “Good morning sir,” her voice rather chipper trying to ignore the somewhat eerie silence that had inched it ways into the not so going conversation.
Cerys shuffled her feet as the stallion remained posed at the other side of the bank, was he shy? Or maybe he was embarrassed? Or even a worse thought what if he hated mares? Geez, hating mares would be a bit of an extreme but it could happen… right? Her ears perked up, he spoke finally, she was afraid that maybe she was going to have to start the conversation herself, and usually her starting conversations always began with “where is this place?” However, his question was no better how could she answer how she got somewhere when she didn’t know where she was? But before her jumbled mind could give him an answer he continued on his own.
She wrinkled her nose a bit as she walked by his body somewhat regal almost as if he was trying to put himself off as someone a little more impressive instead of aloof in what to say. Not to mention the wild grin he added as he let the water trickle down his throat, oh he was a stallion alright. Cerys shook her head, “I’m sorry sir, I’m not sure how I got here in fact I can’t even tell you where here is,” she replied a little smile on her face as she moved her feet to near him on the bank, “but I can tell you sir that I didn’t know anyone lived here, but I have no intention of leaving right away especially since I just met you.”

Why was he a sir? He wondered if she found him to be old or gentlemanly. Well no matter. Her next statement came as a bit of a surprise, and he raised a brow even further upwards then before. "So, do you happen to be lost?" Oh great. Now he'd have to deal with a lost mare. That was so not his forte. He grunted quite loudly and shuffled his hooves uncomfortably. Well, now what was he to do? Talk about the weather? Talk about hair?
While he was pondering ways to make the situation more awkward so the mare would leave, his ears perked and he cringed as she mentioned she had no intention of leaving. Well crap. There went that idea. She seemed much more perky and upbeat then the last creature he encountered. He wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing...
"I'm afraid we haven't technically met, so there really is no pressure to hang around here. I'm sure we both have more important things to do since it is just morning." He cringed as he fought to be polite, since his father would have smacked him for being anything other. But damn. The mare kept coming closer and closer. Wasn't she intimidated? It was always so much easier when others were afraid because then they would just leave! But it looked like he wouldn't get that lucky at the moment.

((Sorry for the slowness this past week it got a little busy))
Cerys gave shake of her head, “no sir, I’m not lost… I mean I had no place I was really heading towards its more like… exploring with no direction.” Did that make any sense to anyone but her? Cerys’ sweeten brown eyes took a glance at the stallion, his brow remained raise as he shuffled his feet. She could feel his uncertainty ease it s way, emanating from his body to hers, her ears remained flattened still from the grunt that had emitted from his throat earlier. Was his shyness the cause of this problem? Or maybe he just really hated new people stepping in on his land? Protective of what was his? She couldn’t see how this small puddle of water and bits of turf really should have mattered to anyone, maybe he had something hidden there? Her father’s deep glare and deep thoarted growls were always warning for others to keep away from the ones he cared for most, though it was never for the the tall willowed trees that waved to the sky as each breeze wafted through.
Her ears remained flattened as he mentioned that they probably had more important things to do in the morning. Pish, her whole entire reasoning for going on the adventure was to meet others outside of her generic family, her simply just leaving because he was uncomfortable was nothing more than a silly excuse of bare embarassment or dislike. However, reassured her mother would have scolded her for bothering another stalion’s time when they didn’t want her there, however curiousity always tended to win with her so the harsh voice disappeared without a second thought.
“Well since we haven’t technically met as you said, my name sir is Ceryseete Inolaisi, Cerys for short. And no, I have made no plans for the day so I certainly don’t have anything important waiting on me sir,” she said with an odd smirk on her face, “do you?”

(( There is never a rush so don't worry!)
Well she had given him her name. That meant that she really wanted to meet him, and he'd be a total jerk to ignore the request back. Luckily he wasn't mean by nature. He was just uncomfortable and not used to other's."Name's Lanzo." he finally uttered, while gritting his teeth together unnaturally. He supposed it was going to be one of those meetings. Most likely painful, uncomfortable, and even awkward at times. A usual and common meeting for him. "Stop calling me sir." he finally added. "Even if you are trying to be polite it's... strange. Sir makes it sound like I am better then others or one hundred years older." Hm. He was definitely neither of those.
He realized he should get more comfortable instead of standing so stiffly so he loosened his legs but kept his eyes on her constantly. He never could be so sure of others. He would need to be alert at all times because no one could be trusted in this land. He thought hard on how to 'create' some conversation. What could he possibly ask her? He personally didn't care to know anything. But that was a usual problem of his... "So how is your exploring going? Found anywhere cool looking?" The fact that she was still alive was proof that she hadn't done anything stupid at least. She must have been capable enough to travel on her own for long periods of time.
Most Soquili needed others around them constantly. He couldn't tell if she was one of those as well. He'd have to work on reading others since that would help him through these difficult situations!
