Being the only thing Youma brought into this dimension with him, the sword exhibits some unusual qualities. when dormant, the sword appears to be made of diamond or some other similar substance. its hilt is ornate and decorated with gilt silver. when awakened, however, the diamond material seems to fill with a dark cloud of jet black material. within the blackness are the images of countless things that Tachinori has devoured. animals, people, buildings, and even distant images of the planets the once great sword had devoured. Tachinori, when awake, has a tendency to break Youma's control over it if it doesn't agree with Youma's intents. It desires, it angers, it rages. Tachinori is the entombed soul of a god of Youma's dimension where all beings would have been viewed as gods by human standards. The god entombed within the sword was a god of the void. it was the force behind a massive black hole at the center of Youma's galaxy. On some occasions, Tachinori is more dangerous than Youma. Youma, however, is tied to the sword by his soul, which he sacrificed to capture the god.

-Auric Telepathy: The name for this skill is inaccurate. what the skill is, is his own ability to see the life force of everything. he can see the aura of plants even. since anything with life force to move has an aura which cannot be blocked or stopped, this makes it hard to sneak up on him. But, it also refers to his abilities to divine emotions and general intent from the auras he sees. for example, he wouldn't be able to read thoughts like "Im going to {insert clever power here} to this guy!" he would, however, know that the intent in that man was harmful and to whom it was directed. such telepathy cannot be blocked, but nor is it very useful in anything but detecting an imminent fight.

Youma was the son of a man who forged blades. Blades forged in this realm were rarely made of metal and were rather made of bone or Etzikite, which is the nearly indestructible material of Tachinori. Such work was coveted for few beings were born with a natural talent to work with the materials. Youma's father, Zetsai, was the only one capable of forging to high qualities on their planet. Often times, beings from other planets would come to purchase from Zetsai a personal sword. Such 'personal swords' were forged with the blood of the contractor and could only be used by them and the forger.
Despite his relative renown, Zetsai was deeply in debt. beings far more powerful than him would often force him to make a blade than take it without paying or trading. This meant that Zetsai couldn't keep his bills paid and was forced into a debtors prison. 212 earth years were spent in the prison, aging the once limber young man into a disparate vagabond and a drunk. a single month after being freed, he wound up drunk at a bar and stumbled into an alley to pass out and forget his fears and worries. When he woke up, he saw the gloriously decorated ceiling of one of the Lords houses. its intricate designs of bright stars so outshone the real stars that there could be no mistaking it.
The deal made with him later was that if he forged weapons for this lords soldiers, Zetsai would be provided with a free home and food on the estate itself. So of course, Zetsai took the deal and so he lived for 50 more years. That is, until the lords daughter came home from the battlefield. they fell in love instantly and were able to have an affair for several years before Ukiya's father found out. to sum up about 70 pages of text into a shorter version, the ran from place to place, planet to planet, only to find out that Ukiya was pregnant. Children were so rare to these people that they didn't know what it was at first, but it didn't matter. the lord led an armed contingent into their hiding place one day and he personally slit his own daughters throat. Zetsai, however, used one of his own specialized bonded swords to fight off the lord and his contingent and to run away with the barely living baby clutched to his arms.

Such powers only appeared once every ten thousand years and always signaled a great upheaval followed by peace. by the time another year had passed, Youma had killed his instructors and all of his fellow soldiers stationed there. afterwards, he immediately disappeared. for 200 earth years, Youma matured and learned the path to controlling these powers. he finally found the singular power out there greater than his own, and yet he found a way to take it as his own.

Youma's power was now unimaginable, but the blade must be kept fed in order for Youma to maintain his control. for the next 120 years, Youma went on a rampage, devouring entire planets as well as the souls and life force of everything on it. Youma and Tachinori were growing in power to such a point that they threatened the very nature of reality. they began to bend reality in massive quantities. when Galaxies began to wink out of existence under Tachinori's endless hunger, the final surviving members of the once powerful race got together and prepared a trap. Since Youma and Tachinori have slowly been ripping a hole in the fabric of reality, they could be bound out of this one by means of a massive sacrifice.
The leaders sent their loved ones to the far reaches of the universe, as well as any unnecessary people and prepared for the ultimate sacrifice. When Youma and Tachinori descended upon this banquet of power, they found themselves bound in a powerful force. they felt the life force being ripped from themselves and all other beings in this galaxy. the black hole here was taking it all in and returning all this strength to the universe. Youma took Tachinori at the last possible moment, just breaking free of the binding, and fled into the only safe place he could find. A dimensional tear that sent him sprawling through the star scape of Earth to crash in the seas outside of japan. Youma and Tachinori found themselves almost completely weak, as weak as Youma was only a year after birth. Youma and Tachinori began to slowly take in life to forge a bridge between dimensions and let himself back into his home.
