The day was lingering on the verge of rain. The sky was as gray as some of the lions he'd seen around and not at all happy looking. Still, it calmed Dusan to know that something was as annoyed as he was. He'd forgiven those three cousins for taking his mother away; since they needed her to survive, like he did at one point in time. Hell, he still needed her most of the time, which is why he was annoyed in the first place.
Things had changed, Dusan had spent time with them, and now he was at peace with his home. Momma had been going to meet someone at the borders today, or to mourn the loss of her sister, he didn't know. He wanted to follow, but he knew better than that. So, today, he was wandering around the dimly lit swamp in order to see who was around to play with. Tail flicking from side to side, he jumped up on a big fallen tree before grinning at the groaning noise it made under his bit of weight. Jumping, he felt the tree move under him, which caused him to bounce even more. If nothing else, he could keep himself occupied for a little while.

Kairu had slipped away from his den, which had become increasingly difficult with how the pride seemed to be on edge now days, but he didn't go far, he made sure to stay between his den and the dens of his mother's friends. Today for instance he knew that his mother was helping another lioness keep an eye on her cubs as well as the ones she adopted, not to mention his siblings on top of that. So today it had been easy.
Today Kairu had decided was a day for adventure, for playing in the mud and having a grand old time. It was always fun to get nice and muddy in the swamps. Looking up at the sky he noted the dark gray, from experience he knew that this meant rain and rain of course meant more mud. Kairu smiled with this revalation, and jumped his way through the lands making sure to make the biggest splashes he could all the way through.
He came to a stop when he spotted a dark blue cub not far in the distance, he had seen other cubs similar to him in fact he played with them quite often, though he couldn't say he knew this one at all. He walked over towards him, excited to make a new friend, a wide grin on his face.

He didn't notice the other cub, nor would he unless he tripped over him. Dusan was so far into his own mind, that he didn't notice a big, huge rock in front of him, which he promptly tripped on and then grunted, scraping his chin on the side of it. He whined at that and scrambled to move away from the rock so he could at least sit up.
Doing so, he rubbed his chin with his paw and sighed, finally looking around to where he was. Wait. Wasn't this near momma's friend's den? Maybe? He really had no clue. He didn't play with the other cubs, because he'd been so mad at everyone before hand. With a frown upon his face, he glanced over and blinked when the saw another cub coming towards him. Why? Who'd play with him? He'd gotten the reputation of a cranky butt! Still, he'd see what the other would do.

Kairu smiled watching the other male walking, when he tripped over the rock Kairu was glad to see that other cubs were just as clumsy as he was. He noticed that he was rubbed his chin afterwards, he hoped the other cub didn't get hurt too badly.
Kairu sauntered in direction of the other cub, "Hello there" he greated, "I hope that you didn't get hurt to bad there" he was trying to be friendly, but he wasn't very successful at social interactions. "My name is Kairu, I have seen you around your mother is Kabu right?"

Dusan blinked and shook his head a bit, trying to clear it up enough to form a sentence that wasn't scrambled sounding. After a few attempts, he grinned and puffed his chest out. "I'm Dusan, and yeah, Kabu's my mom. How do you know her? I haven't seen you around before.." He didn't even look familiar. Honestly, he hadn't ever seen his mother's friend, just heard about her from his mother. Tail flicking to the side, the blue cub waited for an answer patiently before adding:
"You're..... pink."

Kairu frowned, sadden that the other cub didn't know him at all, I suppose it was true, that they had never actually interacted, but Kairu had seen him, perhaps Dusan wasn't as observant as Kairu he thought, this made him feel better.
"Uh .... yes I am er pink, you are blue." he wasn't sure what the other cub was trying to accomplish by telling him what his color was. "I er have seen your mom before, I guess you weren't there." He looked at the other cub hoping he hadn't made him not want to be friends.

No, Dusan wasn't the most observant lion in the bunch. But that was alright, he wasn't planning on doing much anyway with his life. He knew he could pay attention long enough to hunt, but that was about it. With a grin at the other when he said he knew his mom, Dusan's tail flicked happily. "Nah. I don't follow mom around like I used too. I'm following my new dad around. Seeing what he's doing and all that jazz. Mom's grown really fond of him! Maybe she's telling your mom all about him."
Really, Dusan had no idea what mothers talked about. He didn't care to know, either. "Hey. Want to go catch mud bugs?"

Kairu wasn't bothered that the other cub was fairly unobservant, it wasn't all that important to pay that close attention, not when you had a safe home like this one, and you were just a cub. For them there wasn't a worry in the world, it was just good times.
"I haven't seen your new dad... nor have I heard about him." honestly when Dusan's mom was around Kairu wasn't paying attention to what the two lionesses were talking about, he was instead playing with the cubs she happened to have with her on that particular visit, Kairu loved making new friends.
His thoughts changed quickly when Dusan suggested catching mud bugs "What a great idea, I love practicing my hunting skills!!" Kairu skipped around excited, he ran towards the nearest mud puddle, and looked around for some little bugs.

Dusan nodded a bit; of course the other hadn't heard of his new dad. He was new! He chuckled to himself at that lame joke and flicked his ears this way and that way as the other continued to talk. Excellent! Mudbug hunting was always so great!
He ran after the pink male and did a belly flop in the mud, hoping to get some on his new friend's face. Laughing good naturedly, Dusan picked himself up and started rooting around in the mud, looking for signs of bugs. A few bubbles caught his attention.
"Pssst!" He whispered to Kairu, "Look here..." It could be a bug, or maybe a rock sinking, but either way; it was something new!

Kairu moved towards the mud puddle that Dusan was looking at. He giggled at the bubbles raising to the surface wondering what they could be, taking from his play with Tahki he started to imagine that it was scary lizards raising from the ground to cause harm and distruction.
He moved closer and put his nose to surgace of the puddle, and when the bubble popped the mud spalshed up on his face. He stepped back and looked at his friend, "What do you think? Is it something dangerous?" he got low and ready to pounce ready for any sort of adventure the puddle might hold.

"I bet it's frogs!" he said, grinning happily and looking to the other boy. Dusan adored finding and chasing frogs, but he didn't hurt them. At least, not on purpose. "Frogs love to hang around in the mud. Keeps their skin wet!" He moved to the bubbles and nosed them, snorting once he hit something.
It was a frog! When he pulled his nose out of the mud, there it was; a little frog sitting on his muzzle. His violet eyes went cross as he looked at the thing and gave a bit of a laugh. "Look at it! I told you!"

Kairu studdied the creature on the other lions nose, it lookeed similar to a lizard, but yet it was different, maybe it wasn't dangerous, or maybe it was just a lizard in disguise. The little cub moved back and forth studing the creature purched on his new friends nose, wondering what to do next.
"Is it dangerous?" Kairu asked in a quite voice. He sat down trying to get a better idea of what he was up against. The other lion seemed relaxed enough but at the same time maybe her didn't know the dangerous of the lizard kingdom that threatened to take over the pride.

Dusan laughed again and shook his head, watching the frog carefully. "Nope. These things? All they do is go: 'ribbit riiiiiiibbit' and hop around and eat flies!" He nodded, and watched as the frog hopped off his nose and onto the solid ground before hopping away. "See? They're fun to poke. They jump away!"
Dusan knew nothing of the lizard kingdom or of Takhi's delusions. And he wasn't too sure he wanted to know!

Kairu felt himself jump when the little frog jumped of Dusan's nose. As it hoped away her heard it say ribbit. He giggled, that was the least threatening creature he had ever seen. The young cub felt silly for ever being afraid of everything.
"I had never seen one of those before." Kairu admitted to his friend, "They are fun, I hope that I find one again." Kairu giggled. The young cub was amazed at what fun he was able to have when he made friends, the young cub made a mental note to seek out more cubs and make more friends, his mother would be so proud of him.

Dusan stretched himself out and yawned. God, it was already such a long day! He looked to the other cub with a grin on his face and looked up to what he could of the sky. "Well. It's nap time, don't you think? Wanna curl up and nap with me?" He wasn't shy about curling up with anyone to sleep. He slept really good with other cubs ore adults; he didn't know why.
