Amaranta was up early as per her usual. She liked to spend any and all time that she could practicing, she had to out acheive her siblings if she was going to get her mothers attention. She of course felt she had the leg up, she was by fair the best looking of all the cubs. She smiled to her self at this thought.
This morning she was done by the lake, her favourite spot to think, and she often was able to find pride members down by here that she she could wow with her beauty and grace. Something her mother would be proud of, after all she was very good at talking to the pride members, and she was getting her name out there.
She sat on the ledge of the lake grooming her self, it was hard work to look your best all the time.

The male leopard stretched himself lazily, several spots of his spine popping all at once before he grunted and turned over on the rock he'd been sleeping on, practically a puddle. Of course he was by the lake, that's where he always was when he wasn't training or off with one of his new friends. Recently, he'd made real good friends with someone named Aulus.
Tail flicking to and fro, his gaze shifted over to his sister who wasn't t far away. She was grooming, again and he snorted. He hadn't been groomed in days and was full of dust and a male scent, even dead things. Far be it from him to pass up a chance to roll around in a dead scent to make himself feel better. They couldn't be more different, him and her. But, still. He supposed he had to go converse with her otherwise she'd get irritated.
Getting up off his rock, Amandus moved over to sit down next to her, licking at his front foot. "Amaranta, you're always bathing. Such a girl." He ginned, knowing that she'd find his smell offensive.

Amaranta's upper lip curled as she caught the sent of her, dirty bother. There was no other way to put it he was filthy, totally under utterly dirty. How could he handle being that dirty, smelling that way.
"Amandus you smell revolting." she said simply. "Why is it that you can not understand that cleanliness is next to godliness." he might feel that being clean was not as important as she did in particular.
Amaranta feeling now particularly dirty as a result of her brothers dirtiness, began to clean her paws. It was bothering her that he could be like this, why hadn't mother talked to him yet, it was clearly a bad image for the family.

Even if mother did talk to him, Amandus wouldn't care about the 'family image'. To him, there wasn't a family image. He hardly ever saw mother or father, or any of his siblings, unless they were sleeping. Even then, he slept in a different part of the den because he didn't believe in the 'togetherness' of this particular family. Stretching out, watching her squirm, the leopard couldn't help but grin as well. His plan was going perfect!
"Oh, who cares about the Gods? They have enough to do as it is without worrying about all the good smelling things in this world. You just don't know what a good smell is. I smell like a man!" He flexed and sniffed himself, laughing loudly. To him, he didn't reek. He wasn't girlie like his stupid sister.
"Why are you always cleaning yourself, anyway? You're just a leopard and not the prettiest one I've seen."

Amaranta couldn't help but continue to squirm at the smell of her brother, she hated showing him that he got to her at all, there should never be a showing of weakness at all.
"Well it doesn't matter if I am pretty to you or not brother." she was right, they were siblings what did it matter if he thought she was pretty or not, as soon as she got old enough she would find her own mate, have her own family, a large one... continue the blood lines, make mother proud.
Although she told her brother and her self that it didn't matter what he thought of her looks, Amaranta felt the little ball of emotion in her stomach, he beauty was something she was quite proud of, something she thought set her apart in the family, particularly the smelly fur ball that was sitting in front of her.

Oblivious to her tiny ball of emotion, the smelly brother that he was, moved away from her and stretched out, laughing at how she squirmed. "Amaranta.... You're way to uptight. Why don't you let loose for once? Try following me and see what I do all day, hm?" He asked, wiggling his tail at her before laughing more.
He didn't mean to hurt her feelings or anything, he was just being that annoying kid brother that always wants attention and doesn't know the right way to get it.

Amaranta stared puzzled at her brother, it was somewhat confused, the idea that her brother wanted her to relax was so strange, was he not from the same family that she was, relaxing was not something her mother had taught her to do, Amaranta felt that all her training meant that she was suppose to be on top of things, always prepared for action.
"Do you think you could honestly teach me something that I don't already know brother." she hated to admit it but she was intrigued by the idea of relaxing, and perhaps if she followed her brother around she would be able to get some dirt on him, somehing that she could use against him at another point in time... she of course needed to find a reason that was practical in her mind to follow her smelly brother around for the day and do nothing, opposed to training and working hard.
Before letting her brother answer she let a grin move across her face, "Ok brother show me the ropes, I will follow you and you can show me how to.... relax and loosen up."

Amandus grinned at her answer. He always skipped training, finding it better to do thing son his own time. Flopping back down on the rock, the smelly leopard closed his eyes and yawned widely. Talking to this uptight sister always drained him. That's why he avoided his family as much as possible. "See, the thing is. This is what I do all day. Noda. Maybe go play with some lions I met, but they're not around right now. So, I lounge and sleep. Go get a little baby rabbit when I feel hungry, or go fish. I might bathe today...." He let his thoughts trail off before smiling a bit more.
"Since I'll have company, meaning you, I think I will bathe. Come with me to the waterhole." Up he got, lazily stretching growing muscles. Without another word, the orange male took off for the watering hole, not even looking back to see if she was following.

Amaranta rose at the same time as her brother. she tried to mimic his walk as he made his way to the watering hole. She really wasn't sure how well she was going to be able to pull of this laid back attitude, it jsut wasn't her. Unlike her brother she was big on the training, she was her mother's daughter through and through, she didn't have anything in her that made her think that laying about doing nothing was a good idea.
"So you don't ever make plans for your day, set goals, feel that perhaps you should train?" she called to her brother as she caught up to him. The whole thing was really confusing to her.

Training. Of course that would be brought up. The orange male snorted and he shook his head. "My goals for today is to catch a few frogs, maybe eat them and go find a friend of mine to play with." Or flirt with, depending on how the male felt. he wouldn't tell his sister that he'd rather be with male company than female. She'd go back and tattle tell on him. Then he'd get in big trouble with momma.
"I'll bathe for your sake though, Ama. You're just that damn cute." Sarcasm screamed in his voice, which made his grin grow even more.

Amranta smiled, "Why thank you brother, I am very cute." she knew that her brother was being sarcastic but she took the compliment anyways. "And dear god for my sake please do bath, the hair in my nose feels like its on fire." she wiggled her nose trying to get the awful smell out of it.
She had listened to her brother's plans and smiled.... "Well I suppose those could be considered plans, but they aren't going to accomplish much now are they." Amaranta rose to her feet reading herself to move towards the water where her brother would finally have to get clean.

As he watched his sister move past him, the orange leopard rolled his eyes and sighed. Drama queen. She was just looking to start trouble, wasn't she? He walked behind her and finally into the water, feeling the coolness of it, Amandus grinned. This was what he needed; just the right temperature. He moved to about his knees into the water and laid down, starting to rub against the rocks there so the smell and dirt would get out of his fur.
After a few minutes of splashing around in the water like a fish, he came to the shore and shook off, not caring if she got wet. "As for my plans? I fight with lions, usually. ou could say it it's a kind of training. Maybe not one mom would like, but have I ever cared what she thought? Don't go telling on me, either, Amranta. I can take you down." He narrowed his eyes at her, letting her know she was completely serious.

Amaranta relaxed as her brother finally made his way down into the water. Her nose would be able to stop sting with the stench he carried. She listened to him talk while he bathed and when he came out and shook she couldn't help but cringe as droplets of water hit her pristine fur.
When he began to talk about her tattling on him she let out a laugh. "I wouldn't waste mother's time with stories about you." she told him. It wasn't a secret that Amandus was a slacker, and if Amaranta brought it up to mother she probably would get her head bitten off for even bringing him up.
"Well brother dearest. You have fun with whatever it is you plan on wasting your time on today." she said in a cool tone. "I on the other hand am going to get some practice done before training tonight, I want to outshine everyone." she said it with a smirk.
She then turned and walked away from her brother she was so confused how they could be siblings and be so completely different.

Who knew his sister could be such a b***h? Still, it made him proud that he had siblings who could take care of themselves. So, he didn't say a word to her as she left, just continued on with his bath. Man, he needed an actual friend that didn't only show up when he or she felt like it. Someone who'd always be there with him and be connected at the hips. But, that was ranting for another time.
