that they're s**t happens, it exists, and gang life itself is a stupid idea. i dunno where people get the idea they are doing ANYTHING with their lives, i guess they think that life and immortality have to do with social coolness.... ******** them. it's bad enough that they litterally THRIVE around racist and sexist lines, let alone the violence and destruction that revolves around it. heroine!? tell me exactl WHY people buy this s**t? it ******** KILLS YOU!! it causes birth defects! it spreads ******** AIDS!! and what about the prostitution? what girl in her right mind can say she honestly WANTS to be a gang prossie? knowing full well what she'll be called and how she'll be treated!? reliqueshing all her rights to some creeps?

i know i have my troubles with gang activity, particularly the Bloods i have alot of idiot friends who are Crips, and they ar lucky enough not to be expected to do much... they already sell drugs which i have a bit of a problem with. Coke and Weed and Acid and X mostly. there's this new s**t out called Euphorium. next level of Ecstacy basicaly. i already spoke about it. but yeah, Bloods hate me for so many reasons. they think i'm with the Crips, they know i rescued one of their prossies, and basically i have a surprisingly complex and twisted set of connections with a particular chapter of the Bloods. i carry a boxcutter in my pocket whenever i leave the house, even to go to the McDonalds that's RIGHT BEHIND my house! not even 100 feet away! because the neighborhood right next to mine is Blood base territory. like, their main spot! i go downtown on weekend nights, disputed territory! i go to teh mall when i have the money and time, that's safe for me cause it's Crip territory and the Crips here are more about numbers than anything, less violent until messed with, etcetera. i hate gangs. with a passion.


but anyway, yeh Gaia is full of this s**t. i stumbled upon a KKK guild and supportive threads before, and in a guild i love that i just got banned from there was a mention of a Neo-Nazi guild, and so that was where alot of members saw for the first time that racist groups exist on Gaia. i checked it out, they arn't very popular...

For the record, smoked HEROIN doesn't spread AIDS in any way.

I see so many wannabes around here. There isn't much actual gang activity in Spanagay; true to form, no one cares. I'm sure there's some in Tacoma, though.

Well you could get AIDS from needle use to shoot up heroin, if old needles are used or they are passed around.

I know there are gangs around here, but just don't hear much about them and nothing like in the big cities.

Gangs follow right along with cults and everything else. They get impressionable people who are really just trying to figure life out and where they belong. They talk them up about things and get them brainwashed into thinking that their view is right and their life is the best.

After all, everybody wants to feel like they belong to something.

Think about it... your poor, don't have much of anything, and people are always on you that you won't be nothing or you aren't worth anything... then you see these 'gang members' strolling around with cool clothes, cars, etc. and people are giving them respect and doing what they say... so the choice becomes easy. Then once your in, you're screwed because if you figure things out and that you made a bad choice then guess what? The only way out is death...

Just some random thoughts about it all from me, takes it for what it's worth as I've not had any real personal experience in the matter but just from what I've seen/heard.

What's really funny is when two members of the same family join feuding gangs. Thanksgiving is never the same after that. sweatdrop

Seriously tho, I can understand--if certainly not condone--joining a gang to do things like feed, protect, and support your family, especially when you have next to zero options. Elder siblings might even join to prevent younger siblings from becoming victims. But if you're going to do all that for a gang, why not join the military? Better guns, fair pay, little to no illegal activity (which is debatable, but...) and when you get out (9 times of of 10, you're alive) you have a POSITIVE mark on your record that can help you get an even better job. Plus, if you work it right, you can make it through college with the army footing the bill.

And advertising gangs, the KKK, and other violent groups on a PG13 website is totally bogus. Even if you do get members, you'll likely only get the ones who want to do something radical and rebellious, like have "Jews suck" in their signature. Uh huh. Real hard core stuff here. rolleyes Even if there is anyone really really into hating other groups, how can you take them seriously when they have panda slippers or a white Chinese dragon on their avi? I mean, honestly, this can't be a major recruiting method. I'm sure the higher up Gaia Admin work hard to make sure this sort of thing doesn't end up mainstream. (On a side note, at my school once, a bunch of kids tried to be "cool" by drawing reverse-swastikas on their notebooks. They said "It's only a Tibetan good luck charm." No one took them seriously either. Their notebooks were either confiscated, homework and all, or they "decided" to affiliate themselves with different symbols.)
