Team Rocket Headquarters. So this is where Nadali lived? That's interesting.
Outside the main doors of the building, a young girl stood with a backpack strapped to her shoulders and a note in hand. By the looks of things, she was just a child, no older than seven or eight. Her skin was darker than most, a light caramel-color. It was obvious that she was tan from being outside so much as children often were. Her hair also gave away her age; it was styled in two braided pigtails with two large, oval shaped buns at the sides of her head. Most of the hair on her head was the color of ripe chestnuts, but streaked throughout her locks from time to time, one could notice a striking dark midnight blue. The funny thing about it all? That was her natural hair color.
What she was doing at the Headquarters was anyone's guess. When grunts would walk in or out of the building, the child never spoke to them. She just stared, her facial expression stoic, as if she were just waiting for someone to come out. Eventually, though, Nadali would show her face, and the little girl would finally speak up. Until then, however, she would just wait patiently.

Same ole' expression, same ole' Nadali.
Suchi's midnight blue orbs fixated on her elder sister's form for a moment, but then they stopped elsewhere. After she took note that the girl was actually her sister, the child turned her attention to the pikachu on her shoulder. It was black; black and purple. Since when were pikachus such a color? She had never heard anything like that before. Maybe Nadali got bored one day and painted it?
"You're late," the child murmured, as if she were hurt by having to stay outside all by herself. "Mama said you would come to pick me up, and I waited and waited and waited...It took you long enough!"

Before the Rocket grunt could question her arrival again, a piece of paper was shoved up in Nadali's face. Or, actually, it would have been if Suchi was tall enough to reach. The paper said the following:
Dear Nadali,
How are you fairing with your new job? Hopefully, everything is going well. It's a bit odd not to see you around the ship anymore. Your father and I could definitely use the extra set of hands around. Please keep us up to date on your progress; it's nice to hear from you.
Secondly, happy birthday! I apologize for not getting this letter to you sooner. I had every intention of sending it with a Pelipper, but ours recently got lost in a hurricane. Because of that, I figured I'd do the next best thing: I sent it with your sister instead.
Your father and I are sorry to trouble you with this, Nadali, but...it was the only thing we can think of. The pirate business...it isn't exactly what it used to be, and Suchi, well --...she has a tendency to hold us back. Neither of us could tell her that, of course; god knows how she would take it. Anyway - we figured it would be best to send her to you. You know how much your little sister adores you, Nadali, and besides...this will give a good time to bond with her.
I hope you don't mind her being there. If it is a problem, just let us know, and we can always work out some other arrangements for her to live. I'll stop here, but it was nice having you read this. Please write back as soon as you can.
Love always, Your dearest mother
"It's not a joke," Suchi snapped, throwing the note at her sister. Even though her trip to get to the Headquarters had been long, the child hadn't read it the entire time. Her mother told her not to read it, and that she needed to give it straight to her older sister when she saw her, so that was what she did. She still didn't even know what the contents of the letter were, even now. "If it was a joke, I'd be laughing in your face and making you look bad..."

"Look...I doubt you can stay here...this isn't the best place for a kid..."
Those words resonated through the girl's mind. Over and over they replayed themself, as if they were a track on a stereo stuck on repeat. Immediately after that, her thought's raced elsewhere, not to the Team Rocket building but to the ship both she and Nadali had once called home. A pirate ship wasn't exactly one of the best places to grow up. Children could pick up bad influences with their parents in such a business, as was obvious by their current situation now. Honestly? This place didn't seem much more worse than what they were used to.
As Suchi recalled back to her sister's words, she crossed her arms over her chest in a mixture of disapproval, sadness and anger. What was she supposed to do? Where was she supposed to go? "A pirate ship isn't the best place, either, you know," the kid retorted back, shifting a bit uncomfortably. "Where am I gonna go, Nadali? I can't stay by myself! Who is going to watch over me? What if i get lost in the city? What if I get robbed? Or worse of all...what if someone asked me for some candy?!!"
Oh, yeah. There was no way she was staying by herself. No way in Hell.

Surprise crossed her features at the arguments Suchi gave, and they all were valid in their own right. It was a stupid idea, to leave the kid alone where she could get hurt or attacked, but even worse for her to be stuck here. Kids like her were the ones that Rockets targeted in the first place.
Letting out a long sigh, she quickly thought of a solution.
"Listen...I'll get you a pokemon...and find you a place nearby...that way you will be safe, and you can always come to visit. Who knows...maybe one day you might work here too..." She shrugged off the idea, before going on, "And I'll get you a phone, in case something bad does happen..."
She was blowing off the kid, sure, but Nadali wasn't going to play the parent figure...she had a job and was too busy to baby sit. With that thought in mind, she nodded to where Senka was, determination setting her unusual serious features.
"How does that sound...it might take awhile to find a place, so you can stay with me...but you must behave...you hear me?"

The fact that Nadali had offered her to stay at Team Rocket for a little while should have been good enough; it was better than nothing, after all. Then again, at the same time, Suchi couldn't help but think that her sister wanted nothing to do with her in this place, and that she was only dealing with her because she had to. It figures. This sort of thing always ended up happening, even back when Nadali was at home.
Her thoughts then turned to all the things the Rocket was promising her. A phone? Who needed it. A safe place where she could live, close by enough to visit...why should she have to visit? Couldn't Nadali come and see her? Actually, why did Suchi have to live somewhere different at all? The two of them were family, and family was supposed to take care of each other. The only thing the child was really pleased with was the very first solution her sister gave: that she would get her a pokemon.
A pokemon! A pokemon of her very own - it didn't get much better than that.
"...But you must behave...you hear me?"
A scrunched up, annoyed expression twisted on to Suchi's face when she heard this, but she said nothing. Must behave? It was almost as if Nadali thought she caused trouble all the time! That wasn't true! It wasn't true, at all. Really, the only time she ever acted out was to get people to notice her. If she didn't do that, no one would even bother to pay attention to the little girl, so she had to do something. Regardless of why she had misbehaved or acted annoyingly in the past, Suchi had to push that behind her and behave accordingly. It was either that, or get thrown out on the streets by her sister. When weighing the options, the child didn't even have to give it a second thought: the latter seemed to be the best way to go.

For once, Nadali took a long moment to study her sister's expressions, gauging the reaction the younger girl gave off. Suddenly, she realized just how hard she was being, and let out another sigh. It was no way to act, but of course her job caused her to be irritated when the mission was long and unsuccessful.
In all actuality, Nadali was just putting her frustrations off on her sister, something that she wouldn't hear the end of from her mother.
Taking one last breath, she softened her gaze on her sister, before a smile crossed her features, "Come here, Suchi..." With that, she held out her arms, waiting for a hug from her younger, irritating, but lovable sister.

The Rocket Grunt didn't have to tell her twice.
In the next instant, before Nadali could probably even blink or take a breath, Suchi was in her arms. She came half running, half flying at her sister with her little arms up in the air. Once she was in the elder's arms, the child wrapped her own around her sister in a tight, bear-like hug. This type of hug was both one of protection and one of sincere love; it was that tight. Suchi also found herself resting her head on Nadali's shoulder. A scene like this wasn't abnormal by far in their household, and in fact it happened quite often. However, the fact that the little girl hadn't seen her sister in a while certainly added to the whole situation.
She had missed Nadali, and that was a fact.
"It's good to see you, Nada," Suchi mumbled into her sister's ear, "I missed you."

Taking the girl into a warm hug, Nadali wondered just how much her sister had changed over the past few years, and how much she had missed in Suchi's life. It was saddening, thinking of being away from the child, but also she knew it was something she had to do.
"I missed you too, Su...but I had to move on...it was my time...and one day you will understand..."
Rubbing the girl's back for a long moment, she set her down, before turning her head to where Senka had rested. The pikachu was eying the two with a crazy look, something that she was used to by now.
"Alright...come here Senny..." The pikachu gently moved down to the ground, before rushing over and jumping up to Nadali's shoulder, "Suchi...this is my pikachu, Senka...Senka...my sister Suchi..."

The child stared at the pikachu with an eye of scrutiny, examining her little black form up and down. Her sister's pokemon was strange. Pikachu were never this color, so how did Nadali's get this way. It was perplexing to the child, and it left her to wonder if all pokemon could come in a variety of colors and patterns. Maybe, one day when she had pokemon of her own, she would find out the answer.
"Why is she purple, Nadali? Everyone knows pikachu aren't purple. What makes yours so special?" As she said this, Suchi also took note of the expression on Senka's face. It looked less than amused; maybe she had eaten a rotten berry recently? "And when can I get my own pokemon? I want one, too!" Everyone needed a pokemon partner. It was like, an unwritten rule, and damn it; it was about time she was able to get one of her own. She was old enough now to take care of it. Way better than her sister, that's for sure.
