Area 11, now called by its original name, Japan, by decree of the Britannian Emperor Training Room, Viceroy's Palace
"Hyah!" The thirty-second princess slashed horizontally across the chest of an imaginary enemy, then put her weight behind the sword and used her momentum to swing the sword to strike at another enemy who was poised to attack behind her. Then followed a flurry of attacks in which Rowena was briefly tempted to draw and used the thin dagger concealed under the folds of her skirt. Her movements were smooth, and definitely had the mark of a practiced skill, but it was rather... pitiful to see that there was no one else in the room with her. Rowena was used to using her own imagination, though. She'd been employing it since childhood, when no one would play with her. It wasn't as if anyone would, because of her stature, and especially not with something as rough as sparring. They might hurt the princess or something, a fact that Rowena wasn't really concerned about, but her retainers definitely were. They had gone as far as to try and dissuade her from involving herself with "matters ill-befitting a princess".
Which also explained why Her Highness was wearing a dress while training. Oh well. It was a skill she had to master; being able to weird her blade even when clothed with something so cumbersome.
Tomorrow, or, to say more accurately, sometime this week, the princess was supposed to go to Ashford Academy and attend her classes there. For now, though, she had been asked to stay in the viceroy's palace, while information about the Nephilim was still being gathered and the situation was unsure. The First Prince had indeed made that announcement -- they showed reruns of it on the television every so often -- but the government was still testing out the people's reaction to it. At the most, Rowena thought as she closed her eyes momentarily, either side -- Britannians or Japanese -- could react violently for various reasons, although initially, the announcement looked to be something beneficiary to the colonized countries. And of course there were the various third parties. Rowena knew that she was being kept within the palace for her own safety, but the waiting was nearly unbearable, even though she showed a pleasant enough face to the rest of the world, and the fact that her own retainers were trying to keep her unaware of things was rather frustrating.

Eternal walked down the corridor of the Viceroy's Palace. He'd just left Shishuku with the Governess, mostly because he didn't want to explain what happened to her in person. He noticed Latune standing down the corridor and walked over to her. "Did she notice you?"
"I'm not sure...," replied Latune. She stepped aside from the doorway.
"Eh, it doesn't matter. If she did, that's good for her. If she didn't, it's good for you. Now let's see if she did or didn't," mused Eternal. He opened the door and walked right on it.

A small intake of breath was all Rowena had before she spun in a half-circle, and let fly the dagger she had been keeping hidden. She hadn't meant for it to actually maim the person who went through the door, as the trajectory had been off the mark by a wide enough margin, but it wasn't far enough to be safe. "Commander." She greeted simply. No she wasn't going to start on the merits of knocking. "I was wondering when I would be joined."

Eternal blinked, and reflexively drew his sword, deflecting the dagger despite the fact it wasn't necessary and rather excessive. He blinked again and sighed. "Latune, stand watch."
There wasn't a reply, just the door shutting behind him.
"Hello there Princess. I thought Leon would be keeping you company, or at least one of the others," replied Eternal. He sheathed his sword as he spoke. It was rather convenient having a armed formal attire, but he preferred his regular attire.

The princess turned to fully face Eternal, sliding her blade back into its sheath. "There isn't anyone else here." She said, fanning herself with her hand. That was the difficulty when she was forced to practice in clothing she would rather not be practicing in.
She started to walk towards the fallen dagger. "Have you come to seek me out, commander?" She couldn't think of a reason why the man would, though.

"No, not really. Well not specifically anyways. I prefer to leave reporting the mess to someone else," replied Eternal. He ignored the fact the princess's outfit and weapon didn't match up, in part because VSD personnel were usually armed, minimally when off duty. Then again, there were, some, exceptions like Latune. "You could have waited to see who was coming through the door. If the person didn't know how to defend themselves quickly..." He let it hang.

She would actually like some proper clothes for practicing, but her retainers had seen to that. They can't let her part with her sword though. She picked up the dagger. "I'm afraid that I've gotten quite used to people announcing themselves before entering. My aim was not right on the mark though; it would have touched you even if it tried."

"And I, the reverse. It wouldn't have hit me from that angle even if I were unarmed. If a different angle... well maybe," replied Eternal. "But I applaud the attempt. Keep it up though, it'd be a pleasant surprise for... enemies."

The princess chuckled. "Oh no, I wouldn't aim properly while I'm in here and nothing's happened yet. This is the Viceroy's palace, after all." It was relatively safe. No need to be flinging knives with the intention to hurt someone.
With a flick of her wrist, Rowena cut through the tangled-up binding of her hair. It had gotten messed up while she was practicing, and hell if it wasn't going to hurt trying to remove it intact. "This waiting for something to happen is a little unsettling though. I'd have something to do at the academy, if I was there."

Leon made his way through the halls of the Viceroy's palace, and saw Latune standing outside of the door to the training room.
"Hey Latune." he said quickly walking by, but doubled back "You haven't seen the princess have you? She left before I could find out where she was going." he sighed Maybe I should have stayed in uniform, maybe thats why no one in security would tell me. he thought to himself

Latune straightened up at the sound of Leon's voice. She shook her head and sulked away to avoid chancing eye contact with Leon.
----
"Well you have to remember that not everyone here is a military grade combatant and others might, well, panic," reminded Eternal. He walked over towards the princess. "Well it's different for each of us, princess. I prefer this lull in fighting, it's not really something girls should be caught up in."

Leon looked confused after Latune started to sulk away but being the guy he was he couldn't let it go
"Latune." he said walking after her "Is there something wrong?" he noticed she was avoiding eye contact "you know you can talk to me right? We are comrades."

"..." Latune leaned on the door for support... and twisted the nob in the process... and fell straight into the floor as the door opened....

He ran over to her, and slid to a kneeling position beside her "Latune, are you all right!" he asked in a slightly panicked voice.

Latune rubbed her head while still averting Leon's eyes. "..."
Eternal sighed and turned around. "Oh... There you are Ri," said Eternal. "Don't worry... she's fine..."
Latune pushed herself off the ground, completely neglecting any adjustment for Leon's safety, and ran over to Eternal's side, seeking refuge behind him. She stole a quick glance at Rowena before quickly burying her face in Eternal's back.
