In Destiny City Park, the leaves were just starting to change color, their green hue already having turned to a pale yellow, many of the edges beginning to turn brown and wrinkle. The afternoons were getting colder, a winter breeze blowing through the city, chilling everyone to the bone and giving the distinct feeling of autumn. It was even worse at night, when the sun wasn't there to warm you.
He knew he shouldn't have been wandering around at night. But he was sixteen, and he was a guy. You never heard about guys getting abducted, especially not teenaged guys. He couldn't count how many times he had seen a girl's face on the tv, smiling back at him while the words on the screen pronounced her abducted. There was also the invincible complex -- I'm not going to die, that could never happen to me.
Wandering through the park at night, Edwardo McCulleny brushed aside a few branches that were in his way. His friends had told him to meet them out here around midnight, so they could meet up and head over to Brian's girlfriend's... but he couldn't find them. Did he come too far?

Star seeds...collect the damned things -sure- WHY not, she snorted derisively as she quietly padded through the park. At least her uniform had the nice soft moccasins for shoes.
She paused just a moment to allow her self to be distracted by the tassels on her uniform. Away from the others she had a moment to be amused by them. Where did the uniforms come from anyhow? Some...reflection of your...tainted 'seed'/soul? hmm...?
She paused in her thoughts leaning against a tree hearing the sounds of approaching feet, branches brushed and snapping back into place.
... poor stupid s**t. Maybe Darwin -had- something... she'd have imagined that -most- people would be getting wise to the idea that it just wasn't -safe- here anymore. Then again -she- hadn't, look where -that- landed her.
Still... survival. She intended to, and that meant he had something she needed.
She paused and closed her eyes a moment taking a deep breath before initiating a small deception.
"Um... excuse me?" She said in a timid voice.

The brunette boy turned on his heel, startled by the sudden, albeit timid voice. He was jumpy, despite his inspirational speech to himself about bravado and masculinity, and was exceptionally embarrassed to find just a girl there, moccasined feet and all. Dressed from head to toe in some sort of... native american garb, he would have thought she were going to a halloween party, except she looked so good in it. Like she was meant to wear it. Her heritage certainly suggested it... and on her, it looked exotic.
Ed found himself staring.
"Oh, hey," He replied after a short time, running a hand through his hair and trying to act cool, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he approached her, "What's up?"
What's up? How lame... coughing, he gave her a crooked grin, trying not to feel too sheepish. She was cute. Damn, he'd kick himself if he messed this up. "I mean, something I can do for you?" he replied to himself not a moment later, offering her the most debonair smile he could muster.

"I'm... sorry" She said waving her hand around like she was lost... but he had no idea how much she wanted to mean those words... at least part of her did.
"I'm... kinda... lost..." She bit at her lip moving a careful step closer...
"I mean... your... from here right?"

Oh man, she was so cute.
"Uh, yeah! I live not too far away from here. Lived here all my life," He chattered a little nervously. Little did he know that he was nervous for ALL the wrong reasons. Had he known that this girl was actually not as innocent as she looked, and that she was really after his very life, he might have done the smart thing and turned the other way.
Not offer to help her.
"You want me to escort you or something? It's dangerous for a pretty girl like you, walking all alone at night..." He tried his hand at flirting, still keeping his hands safely in his pockets, lest he do something completely and utterly embarrassing.

"WOULD you?" She said clapping her hands together in delight.
"I'm supposed to meet some people for a bonfire but... "She shook her head confused.
"I saw the trees...but its a park... and... Would you mind just walking me home? Is it too out of your way?"
Somewhere... Nealite was laughing her a** off... she was sure of that.

Ed beamed, pleased by her response. She was playing him perfectly. She had him eating out of the palm of her hand. Or perhaps something more akin to leading an animal to the slaughter house.
"Sure," He replied a little enthusiastically, grinning ear to ear, "Don't worry about it, t'would be my pleasure. Between you and me, I feel like the luckiest guy alive." He laughed, a little more relaxed now that she had accepted his offer. She had said yes, that had to mean something, right? Maybe she was digging him. And if not, maybe he could ask for a date when they got back to her house. The night was looking up!
"So, uh, where're we headed?"

She faltered slightly at his words, pushed the smile into her face. "I'm staying at this hotel... its out that way" She pointed vaguely...
"D...do you know where the Pines-way Inn is?" She asked, it was a cheep-ish but not -entirely- unused hotel at the edge of town, it catered to out of town people with its cheep board and stale doughnut breakfasts.
"I'm kinda turned around..." She said... "Lost..." she added
It would take them past the more...seedy less visited areas if she let it get that far...
frankly though she had no intent of letting this drag outside of the park.
Not if she could help it.
"I...I'm sorry, I never asked your name!"

"Oh, yeah, I totally know where that is," He responded, which wasn't a complete lie. He had a vague idea where it was... and if they got lost again, at least he got to spend more time with this cute girl. He certainly couldn't complain about that.
Pulling his hands out of his pocket, he coughed a little into one of his fists, resisting the urge to put them right back in. Instead, he held one out for her, avoiding her eyes, instead staring up at the moon a little.
"... you can hold onto my arm, if ya want..." he murmured, giving her another sheepish look, already heading in the direction she had pointed. "I mean, if you're scared. There's been some really creepy stuff going on recently. Lot of kids disappearing, you know? But you're safe, s'ok. I'll cream anyone who tries to hurt ya."

She took his arm for a moment and shook her head slightly at the irony of this -entire- situation before she took a step out to swing in front of him, one hand still on his arm and one resting for a moment, lightly on his chest.
"What if someone tries to hurt -you- though"
She said and made herself meet his eyes as she pushed her hand home towards the 'prize' ...

"Huh?"
The poor unfortunate soul paused for a minute as Moonstone stepped in front of him, looking momentarily bewildered at her words, his only response a dim-witted 'huh' before she reached into his chest. Immediately his blood went cold, his eyes reaching the size of saucers as he realized that this was bad. Struggling against the hand that held his arm, the meadowview boy was startled at how strong she actually was, her grip vice-like around it, keeping him relatively still as she reached deeper and deeper into his chest
"What're you...?! S-stop!" He cried, terrified as he felt his energy slowly starting to dim, just the act of her reaching into his chest starting to make everything go fuzzy, his peripheral vision beginning to blacken, "...stop..."
Staring up at the black-haired girl, the hapless victim fell to his knees, her eyes the last thing he saw as he fell into darkness -- a short-lived coma that would soon lead to his death.

Her hand clapped over her mouth and she closed her eyes shaking...
She -had- to... she owed it and her loyalty to Charonite... she swore, but oh gods... she could only pray this got -easier-
She stared at the stone in her hand... closed her hand around it... and vanished into the night wishing.
