It was a dark night, but then, most of them were. After all, there were few sources of light once the sun became no more than a reflection in the moon's silver mirror. Katchzen slipped through the shadows, keeping mostly to back streets and tiny allyways, his paws padding across the concrete as asphalt soundlessly. There was blood on his fur, but that was to be expected after a good hunt. It wasn't human, and that was better than he could say of the few other wereleopards he knew.
He scaled a fire escape and shifted back into human form on the roof where none could see as he dressed, throwing on a jacket over his mesh shirt. It wasn't exactly cold, and it wouldn't really bother him if it was, but most people didn't wander down busy sidewalks in leather pants and a mesh shirt. Better to hide the shirt, he'd decided.
Back down the fire escape, turn down a couple alleys and he was back with the humans. Back to the hurried shuffling and pushing of warm bodies and the white noise of conversations around him.

Raphael heard the noise above him, but chose to ignore it. If he jumped at everything that went 'bump' in the night in the City of the Damned, he wouldn't be ready for when there was real trouble. There was, of course, but he didn't want the creature to smell his 'fear', let alone use any non-subtle magicks within the presence of Sleepers.

For once, he had nowhere he needed to be and nowhere he was going. He could wander the city for the rest of the night if he so chose. He circled back eventually and headed for his apartment to look for a hair tie. His silver-white hair was just long enough to be pulled back, though half of it would still end up hanging in his face no matter what he did to it.
Music drifted out from open doorways along the street, laughter and shouting. A glass broke somewhere and no one seemed to notice. Gradually the streets became less and less crowded. He left the sidewalk for the stairs and slipped through the open door. His apartment was on the top floor at the far end of a hallway painted by interior designers with no sense of colour of deisgn. He often wondered why he had chosen to live here and then remembered it was because it was almost in the heart of the City. It wasn't so much that the walls were painted a hideous colour of green, it was simply that he didn't like minty blue-green on anything, especially hallways.
Rumage around for a hair tie and then leave again, pause at the top of the stairs just because he could. The city wasn't going anywhere, and it wasn't everyday he could see stars through the window across from the stairs.

Raphael was wandering the streets as he had done for the past ten years. It was the tenth anniversary of his Awakening: the moment in life when he discovered the "real" world and his attainment of the Arcane.
He stood about six and a half foot tall, with shoulder-length ashy-blonde hair that naturally flipped out near the bottom. Raphael wore, as were the common trends of his Order, a black suit. He couldn't quite remember the brand, but that didn't really matter anyway.
The sound of a glass breaking shook Raphael out of his daydream, so-to-speak. He assumed no one else could have heard it, or cared, but nonehteless headed in the direction of the sound. He had nothing better to do.

Katchzen wandered back in the general direction the club where he had heard the breaking glass. Maybe there had been a fight? Or maybe it had just been dropped. Curiosity killed that cat, as they said, and what sort of cat would he be if he did not indulge his curiosity? Besides, he was dressed more for a club than the sidewalks. Maybe less people would stare at him inside.
He stood at almost six feet, which was not at all uncommon for his pard, and if his hair had stayed pulled back, it could have passed for short if one did not look to closely, but his hair never stayed bound completely and so he ended up looking out at the world with one eye, the other covered in a small curtain of hair. He wore a long-sleeved mesh shirt under his leather jacket, leather pants were tucked into black boots that zipped and then had silver buckles as if to hide the zipper. It was his eyes that most people seemed to notice first. They were silver as his hair was, and no human he had ever seen had silver eyes. Even the albinos had a hint of blue.
He stopped for a moment and eyed the open door almost wairly before going inside. He was listening for sounds of a fight, but there were none. If there had ever been a fight at all, it was over now.

Raphael turned and sighted the man with the mass of silver hair. He couldn't help but feel an attraction to this mysterious figure, his being well-dressed not significant. It was the man's aura, Raphael could feel something different about him. The man wasn't Awakened, but not a Sleeper either.
Maybe this man wasn't human at all? Raphael thought. He had come across plenty of Vampire and Werewolves recently, and all of them seemed normal enough in a very basic sense. He took a table at the club, forgetting to order a drink as he stared intently at this silver-haired man.

He eventually made it through the crowd and took a seat at the bar. He could feel the people watching him, the attention almost tangible but fading as the patrons went back to whatever it was they had been doing before. Most hadn't noticed him at all, and he was thankful for that. It would have been remarkably awkward if everyone present had stopped to glance at him.
He surveyed the room, wondering if any of his pard were there and finding only one, his Nimir-Raj, leader, and he took some effort to find. A good Nimir-Raj is adept at passing for human even to those looking for him outside the pard.
He went to greet the other leopard as tradition as respect dictated. He crossed the room, spotted his Nimir-Raj and nodded asking for permission to approach. And nod of assent and he slipped through the crowd to speak with his Nimir-Raj before wandering back to his place almost entirely unnoticed.

Raphael continued to look at this strange man. It must be unhealthy, to stare at a woman, let alone another man like this, but he couldnt help it. He ordered an Irish Coffee from the bartender and sat back, sipping it pensively. The silver-hair man was talking to another and in a very respectful matter. Why was this? the answers would come to him eventually, Raphael decided.

Katchzen gave the room another glance and noticed the same man was watching him as he'd noticed before. Normally he would have ignored it, but he had just returned from a hunt that had given him excess energy he had shared with his Nimir-Raj, but he was still somewhat restless and no amount of sitting still would cure it.
He stood and finished his drink in one graceful movement, left the money for it on the bar under the glass and walked up to the blonde with a smile.
"Hi," he said, "Is this seat taken?" Katchzen guestured to the seat just across from the other man, the black polish on his nails glinting for a second before they were in shadow once more.

"Not for one as cute as you" Raphael let slip. He blushed and turned away, sipping his drink some more.
"Way to go" Raphael says to himself, "Why not just start humping his leg right now? Damn, I'm such a fool."

Katchzen grinned, draping his leather jacket over the back of the seat and sitting down, resting his arms on the table casually.
"Don't worry. I only bite if you ask me to."
It was harder than it should have been to keep a straight face and say that at the same time, but Arik, his Nimir-Raj said he was getting better at talking to people, so he figured it was an improvement. He wasn't supposed to be shy, after all.

"A sadist huh? Don't get too many of those around here." Raphael smiled, tuning back to sit in his seat correctly, this time thinking "Great, go ahead and act like an a*****e now!" By now Raphael has a very apparent blush, and he wasn't hiding it well.

He noticed the other man's blush and smiled. It wasn't everyday he got that much of a reaction from anyone. Then again, it wasn't everyday he tried.
"That depends," he gave his best curious grin, "Do you want me to be a sadist?"
Normally he would have taken those words as an excuse to escape, but stubborness and curiosity held him there as much as attraction did. He wasn't so frightened by people as he had been a year or so ago.

"Blessed Be...no sir" answered Raphael, falling deeper into what semmed to be a spell-like state of charm this man put about himself "So...uh...w-wh-what are y- you doing in the ci-city?" This stuttering was always a problem of his, but only when Raphael was really smitten with someone.

'Blessed be...Wiccan?' he thought for a moment before letting the question go. It wasn't really that important to him.
"I live here," he said, still smiling. "The country doesn't have enough people and the suburbs are too residential for me."
He was volunteering information again, and would have told himself not to if Arik hadn't encouraged it. He'd been taught only to answer a question and then be silent until spoke to. It wasn't the easiest habit to unlearn, but it wasn't the hardest, either.
