I'm perfectly aware there's an introduction thread, and I don't want this to be considered spam. I've been off of Gaia for roughly two years and haven't kept up with the metal scene much since leaving.
Any good Melo-Death releases? Goth releases... or Prog for that matter?

Salutations. I joined back in early 2008, so I don't think I've seen much of you. Regardless, welcome back?Jigsaw Feeling Any good Melo-Death releases? Off the top of my head, I'd recommend this year's release by Unanimated, In the Light of Darkness. Good old-school stuff. Sample here.

Thanks, I'll check out soon.
It's been a weird absence for sure. Reviving an old account like this one after such a long absence usually calls for a new one.
Not a lot has changed in the actual metal forums, lots of trolling and a lot of egos running high.

Have you been here all along? I've been here since the beginning, in fact I was one of the first, if not the first person invited. I don't seem to remember you, did you have a username change?
Anyways, theres been good releases from all those genres you've mentioned, I could give recs if you tell me what bands you really enjoy from them. Though, I wont be able to post them for a week or so since I'm sending out my computer to get fixed tomorrow.

Post them up as soon as you can. razz
Hollow invited me when the guild was new-ish I believe.
I used to be [Deadinside] and nemabreaker (the multiple accounts). I haven't posted here in two years until late last week.

Oh yeah, I remember you now, can't remember what your name is though.
It's great to see you back.
Good recent releases from 2008 & 2009:
Gothic:
Draconian - Turning Season Within UnSun - The End of Life Darzamat - Solfernus' Path (Gothic with Black influences)
I'm drawing blanks on others...
Melo-Death: do you mean Melo-Death as in Melodic Death or the Gothenburg style Melo-Death? because I don't know many good Gothenburg style Melo-Death, just Melodic Death.
Hate (Pol) - Morphosis Hypnosis (Fra) - The Synthetic Light of Hope One Man Army and the Undead Quartet - Grim Tales System Shock - Urban Rage
progressive:
Psychostatus - Chains of Life (Progressive with Death influences, instrumental) Spheric Universe Experience - Unreal Devin Townsend Project - Ki (and Addicted will be out Nov. 16th.) Into Eternity - The Incurable Tragedy

First name is Matt. razz
I meant the Gothenburg stuff, but either is fine by me.
Draconian used to be one of my favorite bands ever. So I have pretty much everything they've released through labels. Turning Season is pretty decent, but really has nothing on Arcane Rain Fell.

Do you remember Amanda? she was into that Gothic Metal and stuff a lot back then and she still posts in the Metal Forum occasionally. She kept mentioning how she wished you'd come back to gaia so she could talk about gothic metal and stuff to another big fan since no one else seems to like it. You should PM her. Draconian is really good but I don't own any of their albums, the only one I've listened to all the way through was Turning Season Within, I'll have to get Arcane Rain Fell.

I'll upload it for you since I own it. Any preference for quality and file types? I have it ripped @ 192 kpbs in MP3 format.
Oh yeah, I REALLY wish I could talk to Amanda again. I really missed talking to her right after hoping back on here. sweatdrop I've dropped her a few comments on her profile, but she hasn't logged in since the beginning of October.

Thats very kind of you but I can't really download anything until I get my computer back. 192 kpbs is fine when I get my computer, I'm really not picky about quality, well I can be, but thats fine. Yeah, I noticed that after posting that, I'm sure she'll be back sooner or later. @Kas: Good point. I will. ninja

I asked since you have your own band. razz Quality usually is key. Let me know when you want it uploaded.
Actually, the reason she can't come on is pretty sad. crying

She's actually switched accounts, I talked to her last night. crying I wish she'd just come back here.
I checked Darzamat out and really enjoyed want I heard. Unsun is going to be the next one I try out. I'm taking as many recommendations as I can, and that computer will let me download. I've got to get some Agathodaimon, and some old Graveworm back as well.

Funny, I've always thought Where Lovers Mourn was their best work. It's very tough choice between that and ARF, though.
