The shadows were starting to grow long as the sun began to sink below the horizon. A rather disgruntled looking tom moved about, seemingly searching for something. His tail twitched anxiously behind him as he moved, brows knit low on his forehead and glasses perched on the tip of his nose. He moved quickly and quietly, even though he was a fairly large cat.

One thing was for certain, Deucalion definitely wanted to find what was lost, or more appropriately wandered away. His ears turned to see if he could catch any faint skittering sounds or what have you. He wasn't finished! He could have sworn that he had closed up properly or at least secured everything. As he moved me was making notes for himself, sort of muttering aloud as the thought. His normal stomping ground was the area around the aquarium, but Deu didn't want to lose the results of so much effort and research.

Mir padded quietly down the street, headed for Namiko Aquarium. Passing up her now usual nighttime activity of going to a night club, the Singapura had decided to try out something a little quieter and maybe a little more intellectual. It had been a while since she had star gazed, and the lights in the Plaza made her tent above the clothing shop ill suited for looking at the night sky. She thought about going to the park and maybe watching there, but before she had decided on where specifically, she had heard of the planetarium in the Aquarium territory. It didn’t seem like it was specifically just for cats of the territory, so Mir decided it would be the best way to see the stars and avoid any city lights.

So that night she had wrapped a scarf around her neck to cover up her rose tattoo in order to avoid any disputes and made her way through the quiet streets to the planetarium. On the street were the aquarium was located, Mir’s ears picked up a slight rustling. Slowing to a stop, the smaller cat scanned the area around her, golden eyes probing the shadows. Seeing nothing, she started walking again, moving closer to the side of the buildings. A few yards later, Mir heard noises again; a low muttering. Crouching down, Mir looked around her again, unsure what to expect, but preparing for anything. Thinking about it; behaving as she was would probably attract more negative attention to herself if someone was already eyeing her, or maybe give the wrong impression to any guard that might be watching her, but Mir had done nothing wrong that might have gained such attention that she knew of. The black scarf around her neck hid the rose tattoo which marked her as a cat of the Kokitsu Plaza territory, so no guard had any reason to pick a fight with her. Still looking around, Mir eased up a little, making her way forward.

Deu emerged from digging around behind some crates, scratching his neck and shaking his head as he stretched up to his full height. Pushing his glasses up his nose, he sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Where could they have gone? They weren't all that big so one could only surmise that they couldn't have gotten too terribly far. The tom cleared his throat and tugged his vest down. He brushed a loose curl away from his neck and scanned his immediate area. In his head, Deucalion was playing back from when he last saw his works to the present time and thinking through each of the ways they could have escaped.

He sniffed, irked with the situation. Pausing, Deu sniffed again. He wasn't alone. There was the familiar smells of the aquarium and several surrounding buildings. The silhouette of the planetarium stood against the dusk hued sky. "Hello? Is someone there?" His ears turned forward and back. The skittering and soft whirring of the wayward pieces couldn't be heard.

The muttering had stopped by now, but the rustling had started up again, so Mir paused for another time, sniffing the air around her. Being rather unfamiliar with the surrounding area, this didn’t help her much so she flicked her ears around, trying to pinpoint the source of the noises. She was curious what someone could be doing so insistently this late at night and she edged around the side of a building, moving into the alley between it and the Aquarium. She could see the back of the planetarium ahead of her, and the noises were getting steadily closer. About halfway down the alley, a tom emerged from a pile of crates that were against the wall of the planetarium. Mir moved quickly to the side, crouching down and pressing herself into a shadow. She could see the glint of glasses on his face, reflecting fluorescent light from a light over a back door. From what she could see of him, he didn’t seem that dangerous, but these things you could never tell from this distance. Padding forward silently, Mir got as close as she dared to the pool of light he was standing in, making sure to keep her cream colored shirt, the only article of clothing she was wearing that wasn’t black, hidden. Mir watched as he sniffed and inhaled, looking around. Mir sighed inwardly; he was obviously more familiar with the surrounding scents then she was and had smelled her. When he called out she responded, still crouched low, ready to move. “What’s it to you?

Slightly narrowing his peridot green eyes, Deucalion listened for a response and smiled very slightly upon receiving one. Good, he wasn't smelling things that weren't there. If no one had answered, he'd feel a right fool about himself, calling into the night at nothing. Embarrassing. He looked over the tops of his glasses at the darkness outside his little pool of light. "Just the comfort of knowing that I'm not making things up to startle myself or jumping at shadows." This area was his home. Deu would feel most out of sorts if he felt uncomfortable or unsafe in his preferred stomping grounds. Everything was familiar, and therefore didn't normally warrant any fight or flight reactions. The tom just guess he was a little on edge due to the escape.

"You may come out if you wish. I'm not on guard tonight. I've got a much more pressing matter to attend than worrying over visiting cats. I won't raise an alarm. There is plenty of fish to be had and the nice is too calm to disturb everyone with an unnecessary row." He smiled and narrowed his eyes at a large box nestled up against a trashcan. He hadn't looked there yet. Maybe that's where they'd gotten. "I hold no ill will to those who come to visit here. Why hinder the exchange of ideas, experiences, and potential relationships with such a simple things as a boundary line." Deu crouched low and looked between the sealed up box and the trashcan. No luck there. He sniffed with mild irritation and rose again. "At any rate, I'm not in the mood for engaging in a brawl."
