Let's go and give advice to people like old times. Anyone?
New people are always welcome. Intermediate people. Noobs. Whatever. Just come in and give advice.
Here's the trick at what you do. You start at the top of the forum and you go for about two hours posting in every thread as fast as you can. Odds are you'll help like 15 people tops that you'll know you've really helped.
Mmk. Let's go!

I like to place myself under the category of "whatever". It is nice and generic.
But yeah, I have been trying to post stuff in LI *nodnod* See ya around there ninja

Yeah... let's revive all the oldbies that everyone loved so much. Not gonna happen. Kupi's gone. Trose is gone. Ruby's so busy she's as good as gone. LCSI is gone. EnRohbi is gone. Veit Loderr is gone. Chalda is so busy it's like she's gone a lot of the time. Soleq- same as chalda.
Nothing left.

Nothing left. Oh, I know that. I know a few people whom wanted to get all them together again but I kind of told them the same thing. I just meant anyone that was around, go in there if you can.

Captain_Sipid_Peabody Never fear! The Peabody Pirates are still here! I'm actually giving out good advice tonight. But only at participating locations and for a limited time.

I have no clue what my catagory is probably something in the "whatever" range. I do typically try and post in a few threads each day. But honestly so many of the threads I see in there it's becoming the same old story. I want to just say "Look, here are 10 threads identical to your problem. Go read them for advice." But I can't bring myself to be that cynical to people.
So I guess I've been avoiding giving advice for my own sanity. I'll have to get back into it. Find a few worthwhile threads where I actually have enough experience/knowledge to post useful information. razz
Perhaps I'll go give it a try right now. Wish me luck!

I'll admit that it's difficult to resurrect an "oldbie" group. First, several members are no longer active on the site, as Laurel said. But, the real thing is, that these communities are constantly changing. We have to adapt to the present and not wish for the past. Sure, I loved LI this time last year, when I felt as though our core group was at its strongest. But, things happen, and things change. LI is still a place to offer advice, and I suggest that we all go and do our part to offer the best advice we can. However, we should do it for the sake of maintaining a respectable forum, not to revive what once was.
And P.S., I do try to keep up on what's new, but work/house/wife/dog/cats/car/medical/reading/cleaning/cooking/family/parents/divorce/etc tend to take up most of my time.

Oh, yeah, that's what I think it should be for too but I don't think there's any harm in putting something together like that once to bring back some old times. I know it won't happen though so it's just someting to look at really.

Well, I could return to my role of being chief badguy of Life Issues and make lavishly trollish comments instead of funny comments, but without the old Kupi/Trose crowd to argue with me, it's not as fun. Without excellent 'heroic' posters, it's hard to be an excellent 'villan' as there is really no one to compare me to. Meaning, no matter how much of an a** I am, it won't look as assholish as it used to because there just aren't a lot of really 'super-active' people giving really great advice on a constant basis.
