Standing in front of the giant freezer, Ursula ignored the cold chill that attempted to envelope her. Her eyes were desperately fixated on the rows and rows of ice cream that littered the freezer shelves, and she continued to stand in silence as she stared at the labels stretched across each delicious ******** men.

Her hand reached up to pull down a tub of cookies and cream, then hesitated, her eyes falling on the cookie dough. Mint chocolate chip always did wonders for the spirit, but it was nothing in comparison to comforting rocky road.

Lowering her hand, the young woman simply stood there, her brows creasing as she studied each container. Worst comes to worst she could always buy multiples and chow down, right? After all, it's not like any particular dreadhead was going to care if she weighed an extra fifty pounds or ******** goddamn men.

The dingy yellow glow from the local grocery store lamps did nothing for Sidra's already pallid skin. Well, you couldn't really say nothing-- it heightened her cheekbones to such an extent that she looked more morbid than even the goth girls in school-- but it wasn't a good something. She looked worn out, over tired, pale; she was more timid then she had ever been before, shirking away from people as if they had the plague.

Or maybe she did.

She felt like hell, but she wasn't about to let people see her crumble. Oh no, not Sidra Winters the bane of all planning committees, fundraisers and their ilk. Her facade was shattering around her but with her mouth set at a grim line she moved purposefully (well, she moved more like a mouse scouting out cheese surrounded by a plethora of cats) towards her saviour.

Bloody, beautiful, perfect Ice Cream.

Ice cream. The one thing that wouldn't make out with her and then go hit on a dozen other girls. Ice Cream, instantly fulfilling and perfect. Ice cream-- already Sidra hit a sour note with her perfect plan as another woman was blocking her path to her elixir of choice.

"Um... excuse me?" Sidra hadn't hit the anger phase yet. She was in the mopey sad sack stage.

"You're excused." came the murmured response, a hand absentmindedly making a shooing motion. Ursula wasn't paying attention to what was going on in the outside world, but instead found herself far too focused on whether or not Neapolitan would be like buying three flavors instead of one, and thus saving her approximately seven dollars worth of ice cream in one bucket.

She continued standing and staring for a few minutes more, and it was when she turned to stare at the Butterscotch that her peripheral vision noticed the other girl standing there. She was a solemn looking thing, her face more expressionless than a dolled up corpse in a coffin. There was a beauty to her, granted, but the expression read it all. There could be only one reason that she would stand there for that long.

Had Ursula been in any less of a self-pitying mood, she would have told the woman to scram while she continued to loom over the ice cream shelves. Instead, she took a step back, sharing her space as well as her despair.

"Relationship problems too, huh?" she sighed, shaking her head as her eyes returned to the vanilla, "I swear to God, I don't even understand why I bother with them anymore."

Nodding sadly, Sidra scooted beside the other woman, muttering a sorry as her elbow brushed hers. With reflexes still quick from her time as a Senshi, Sidra lunged for the Cookie Dough, an expression akin to that of a hunter attacking its prey-- another murmured sorry and an embarrassed flush touched her too thin face.

"I-I'm sorry-- I've had minimal human contact for the past few days and I think I've downgraded to neanderthal. Did you want this flavour? I could choose another."

By the way her eyes became downcast and her expression tightened, only a member of the Negaverse could bear to take her beloved ice cream away from her. Too bad for Sidra, then.

Tucking her long bangs behind her ears nervously, the other hand still holding the ice cream and her face still beet red, Sidra nodded, for the first time outing the fact that maybe MAYBE Charys' attitude was affecting her in some way.

"God, me neither. I think I've read too many romance novels, gave myself unfair ideals. I'm sure its my fault that I'm just not enough for them."

The response was all that was needed for the floodgates of Ursula's woes to come pouring out, and the orange haired secretary waved her hand dismissively. There would be more cartons of ice cream where that came from, and who was she to take away another heartbroken woman's dairy pleasure?

"It's never going to be enough for them," Ursula agreed bitterly, her arms folding across her chest as she continued to remain propped against the freezer door, the cold air escaping. The chill of the freezer reminded her of the cold atmosphere of the Negaverse headquarters. Which reminded her of her times with Charonite. Which reminded her yet again at how big of a dipshit she was for ever thinking she stood a chance with him from the start. God, she was a sorry piece of s**t tonight.

"Never enough. We do what we can to keep them happy and where does it get us? ******** nowhere. We give give give and yet it's still never enough."

Her own hand finally shot out and latched onto the cookies and cream carton. She hated feeling like this. Oh if only ice cream were a man, she would marry him in a heartbeat. He wouldn't argue. He wouldn't mind being whined to or fawned over. He wouldn't drag her around by her hair and tell her how disappointed he was in her.

"I hate being ignored." she added on, as if she wanted to make the point painfully clear as to how upset she was. "I'm standing right here...why can't he see that?"

Sidra patted her arm awkwardly, grabbing a container of raspberry sorbet for good measure before stepping away from the freezer.

"I'm not sure if this makes you feel any better, but at least whoever it is that's causing you such distress didn't make out with you first and then go date practically all the other girls in school. Thank you for making me feel inferior, Char."

Sidra wavered between just leaving and dealing with her own emotional upheavals by herself (with her door closed, eating ice cream and sobbing to "You'll be in my heart,") but her moral code wouldn't let her. Sidra Winter's never left a girl crying alone, even if inside she'd just like the world to stop. Gently reaching out, Sidra touched the carton of Ice Cream the other girl was holding.

"Here, my treat. Us lonely girls need to stick together, am I right?"

The thought of the General-King chasing the skirts of the other lieutenants brought a horrified look upon Ursula's face. The man had to be at least ten years older than herself, and to envision him attempting to flirt with the other women in their organization....

A smile suddenly crept its way across her face as she had no qualms with handing over her ice cream to the other girl to pay for. Her mind, however, was still focused on that terribly stupid mental image, and the grin spread wider as she let out a small laugh. Normally, she'd find such a situation irate, but god, those other girls just screamed jailbait, and to think of him, in his suave nature, attempting to act like Khaldun just broke her into a small giggle fit.

"Lonely...r-right," she stammered between chuckles, trying to control her sudden mirth. Even if ice cream failed to do the trick tonight, that mental visual could definitely keep a smile on her face.

Sidra frowned slightly at the small laugh but paid for the ice cream anyway. She was sure of the good nature of all people (though youma's didn't count and she had only met that horrible general man once-- and she doubted that he was completely human) so did not take offense at the woman's lack of manners. She seemed about as broken as Sidra was, so Sidra felt nothing but compassion for the other woman.

She had to smile a little though-- at least someone was able to get a laugh out of this situation!

Ursula had enough decency to at least act ashamed when she noticed the girl frowning. After all, the stranger had just paid for something of hers, an act Ursula always had an appreciation for.

"I'm sorry," she apologized softly, the phrase a foreign one to the lieutenant who rarely felt she had anything to be apologetic over, "What you said, back there. With the making out and whatnot. I was just trying to imagine Cha--my boss, in that sort of situation, is all. He's not exactly the romantic type."

Walking alongside the girl as they departed from the store, Ursula shook her head. "He's not exactly one to show any emotion, really, aside from pissed off or really pissed off."

She remained quiet for a few moments longer, then turned towards the girl, pausing in her walk as she shifted the grocery bag in her hands. The older woman was looking uncomfortable about something, as if something was on her mind that she couldn't ignore.

"So uh. What do you plan to do exactly, to make this Char be faithful to you?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 25, 2009 11:03 pm

Sidra laughed, bitterly, at the idea.

"There's nothing TO do. I guess my plan is just to... wait."

Sidra sighed heavily, knowing this was not the correct answer to the question.

"Its not a very good plan, unfortunately. I guess I just have this absurd hope that in the future Char will see me as someone dependable and. Important. I don't know. Char's infuriating in that aspect."

Step, step, step.

"So, what about you? What's your plan with your mystery man?"

Ursula was sympathetic with the dark haired girl, knowing all too well what she was going through. It was a ******** waiting game, with nothing they could do to improve their chances.

She let out a sigh and opened her mouth to answer, when a sudden thought struck her. Wait... she had said Char. And that this Char was infuriating and, like with Ursula's predicament, there was nothing that could be do to fix the situation, despite her wishes to be more recognized in their eyes.

Could this Char be... no. This Char couldn't be her Charonite... could it?

"I'm rather in the same boat," she confessed, her eyes narrowing with suspicion at her new companion, "Though, pardon my going off track of the conversation, but you wouldn't happen to know the PE teacher over at Hillworth by any chance, would you?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 25, 2009 11:21 pm

Confused by this sudden turn of the tide of conversation, Sidra stuttered her answer.

"Y-yes... Killingworth, isn't it?" Not knowing much about him, she left the rest unsaid.

Possibly not the best idea, but hindsight 20/20 in all. Sidra had no idea where this conversation was headed.

Oh it was on.

Her grocery bag fell to her side as her other arm lifted and rested itself against her hip. Her glare was venomous, the small half-smile on her face having disappeared, replaced with a thin line.

"And why in the hell," she started, her voice no longer sympathetic but now icy and irate as she walked towards the younger woman, "Would a girl like you know anything about a teacher at an all boys school?"

She was within inches of her face now, the perturbed look obvious and threatening. If this little b***h happened to be one of the new recruits that Charonite had been talking about... if she just so happened to be crushing on her General-King...

Someone was going to die tonight.

Sidra really didn't like the tone this woman was giving her. So what if she knew about Gunn Killingworth, b*****d Head of Hillworth, Bane of all young boys-- it was common knowledge that he ate babies. Besides! She bought this lady her ICE CREAM she should be acting nice not all... accusatory and bitchy and insane.

Sidra shrugged.

"I don't know. And what does an old woman like you know anything about school, at all? Hasn't it been like 8 years since you last went?"

(Sidra was pretty bad at taunting and was trying to be fair. Eight years to a sixteen year old was a LONG TIME.)

The bag dropped to the ground, the ice cream within it long forgotten in Ursula's mind.

"Old?"

The question came out more as a hiss than an actual inquiry, the older woman's head slightly tilting as she gave Sidra an incredulous look. "I'm not old, sweetheart, I'm in the ******** prime of my ******** life right now."

She was scowling, her gaze burning into Sidra as she spoke. It was clear now, there was something between this girl and Gunn Killingworth. There was something and Ursula was going to put a ******** stop to it right now or she was going to have a conniption fit right on the side of the street.

"And since I am in the ******** prime of my ******** life right now, I intend to take the goddamn bull by the goddamn horns and I'm not going to let any two bit trashy little whore of a fourteen year old try to take my man."

Charonite was far from her man, and deep down, she knew it. But for this little priss to imply that there was something else... no, there had to be. She was dodging the question, it was clear enough.

Unable to help herself, one arm reached over and forcibly shoved the younger woman away.

"You will not take him." she said, her voice becoming dangerously calm, "You will not be taking him, not before I get my ******** shot at him, do you understand me?"
