I haven't seen a thread for it, so I figure I should start one. wink
Some of my favorites are MUCC, BUCK-TICK, Sel'm, Shinkou Shuukyou Gakudan NoGoD, cocklobin, Sadie, VANESSA, SKULL, and UnsraW. Though, I listen to quite a few more. If I listed them all; we'd be here for a while. whee
I tend to like the darker and heavy bands in general. But I'm open to everything. Anyone else here care to share their more glamorous favorite Jrock bands? I also love pictures, too. *hint hint* They are visual bands, after all. 3nodding

D'espairsRay are a great band! I saw them in concert twice! 3nodding Marry of the blood is one of my favorites from them. But Forbidden is good too! I only like a couple of pop artists from Japan. I dunno, I just like angrier music. sweatdrop

Haha, as do i biggrin im more for heavy metal. But there's a small softness i have for J-pop. twisted You are so lucky to have seen them in concerty. Are there any more bands you know of? I love hearing about new bands (or new to me) and songs. I may sound Idiotic-ish but i wish to be ABSOLUTLY CLEAR on this. Visual Kei is The kind of music genre-ish thing where they dress a specific style right? rofl (I just want to make sure)
Anywho, Marry the blood is a very good song too! <3
I especially like their MV's! Anywho, i'm sorry my replies are so long razz I probably sound like a newb.

♥ { Oh yeah. I'll post some youtube links to my favorites. :3 I like mostly rock/metal artists as well. I don't get into the pop very much, though. I like some eletronica/dance music, but that's about as close as I get to pop. ( ^^; )
And yes, visual kei (kei means style.) is where they dress flamboyantly or avant-garde. Very stylized hair and make up, too. ( o.~ )b
Major Bands: (This is considered mainstream visual. D'espairsRay would also be in this group. They are the most popular visual kei bands. There are lots of others even more popular than these. But these are my pics. X"D) Mucc - Sora to ito 12012 - Usubeni to ame Sadie - Ice Romancer girugamesh - BORDER BUCK-TICK - GALAXY
Indies: (They tend to be much more flamboyant and don't get put on tv. lol. But I wanted to include them because this is what the major bands -mostly- all started out as.) Shinkou Shuukyou Gakudan NoGoD -Mr.Heaven SKULL - Downer's Show UnsraW - -9- exist trace - Vanguard Lycaon - Chains of Collar
If you like any of that, there are a lot of others. Pretty easy to find them in the related videos sections. Especially for the Indies bands. Enjoy~ } ♥

BUCK-TICK's visual kei? o.O I never knew that. x3
Anywho, I found this thread to be quite useful, since just the other day, I was looking for good visual kei bands to listen to.
The only ones I've been familiar with are D'espairs Ray, Dir En Grey (?), Versaille, Malice Mizer and Alice Nine.

While at school i was looking up stuff for photoshop. And i typed in nightmare, and a band popped up from korea(i believe) and lucky as i am, they ended up being....VISUAL KEI!!
The band was called nightmare, oh wait, i mentioned that. BUT, i have yet to listen to them *shrug*
Thanks for the links <3 I'll view them soon as possible. Electronic is a very catchy genre. I feel the indies will intrigue me*shrug again* If thats what every things based on.
THANK YOU!! <3

I'm into the lighter Visual Kei bands, like the GazettE (?) and D'espairsRay. Would 12012 be considered Visual Kei?
There's this song by KAT-TUN called Rhodesia. When a friend of mine first heard it, he thought it was Visual Kei, but KAT-TUN is a J-Pop band ;D
(If you want to hear it, its the first song on my profile.)

For me, my all time favorite will be X Japan. First VK band I listened to, their live version from the 1993 live on New Years Eve, Art of Life, was my first VK song ever to listen to.
I also like Luna Sea, Dir en Grey, Malice Mizer, Lareine, Versailles, Schwarz Stein, Kaya, Blood, Zi:Kill, Jakura, Közi, Isola, Hizaki Grace Project, Girugämesh, and many more.
I've loved this stuff for almost 4 years now. When in grade school I had no musical tastes, but when I got into high school, my best friend introduced me to Japanese music, and it's been my favorite stuff since.

Ah, visual kei~ I have so much Jrock/visual kei music on my iTunes xD
Just to name a few favorites:
Schwarz Stein, Versailles, Dir en Grey, Hizaki Grace Project, MUCC, The GazettE, An Cafe (though they're more oshare kei), Miyavi, Aural Vampire (not really visual kei, either; more electrop and darkwave), Alice Nine, Plastic Tree, Girugamesh, Duel Jewel, Vidoll, etc.
I like their darker stuff, but I find that I really enjoy visual kei mixed with a bit of pop, too.
