Hey guys! I'm currently working on a story that involves a magical world. Thing is, I can't think of a decent name for it. Anyone got any ideas?

depends what kind of magic world it is. is your place all happy sunshiny bright or do terrible magic things happen to people?

Well, it's not exactly all happy magic, but it's not all dark magic either. It's basically a place where magic functions along the same lines as technology in our world. It could be described as a bit dark, though.

hmm... maybe Mentonia? Or Mentoni?

basically when i make up new names like this i look around at stuff that's in the room with me (or on the computer screen) and try to come up with a cool sound from two or more items/words put together.

like Mentonia for example. i looked at the very bottom of the gaia page where it says

About Us|Terms of Service|PRIVACY NOTICE| (ect)

and picked out the words |Members| and |Towns|. Shove those words together and then cut and add letters until it sounds right.

also. magical places seem to end with 'a' or 'u' sounds alot don't they? (or maybe that's just me.)

If I'm unsure of what to name a place, I take words that mean the opposite of what the town is and flip them so they're backwards.

For instance, I have one town that's on an oasis.
An oasis is water in the middle of a desert, so the opposite of an oasis is a island, land in the middle of water.
Therefore, I take the word "island" and flip it to Dnalsi.
That would be pronounced "NAL-see," but the "NAL" part would be said through your nose.
And there we go, my oasis town is called Dnalsi!

So if I were coming up with a magical place's name, I'd call it Lamron, the backwards spelling of normal.
