Strongear had woken up early this evening, he had decided earlier this week that today was going to be the day, the day that he would move into his own den. He loved his family greatly, but he wanted space of his own, Not to mention that since Twana had come to the pride, she had settled in the forest... he wanted her with him, safe.
He sauntered around the pride lands trying to find something that caught his eye.... a place that was already vacant or perhaps he would dig them their own den from scratch... he just had to make sure he wasn't going to dig down into somebody elses home that wouldn't go over too well. He was paying such close attention to what he was doing that he failed to really notice what else was going on around him.

Twana, or Earthchild as she was going by now was distracted by the beginning of her evening. So much had changed for her, she was growing up and felt alone most of her days. She had Zuberi or Strongear but, she didn't see him all the time and growing up like that was hard for her. She focused her time on learning things about her pack and her surroundings. She wasn't fond of some of the things she learned about and didn't like some of the traditions or rules but, followed them best she could. For now she was happy. She was going to get to see Zuberi today, she didn't know when but, she could feel it. He was growing up faster then she could have said and she admired his beauty as he did. Each day she grew more and more in love with him.
It was with her zone of thoughts that she barely noticed him pass by. He was halfway to adult hood. Her beautiful deep brown boy. Her eye's lit up suddenly and she shouted without thought.. "Zuberi!" Her heart raced and she blushed desperately trying to hide herself away from eth startled pride who knew him as Strongear.

Strongear smiled and his eyes brightened when he saw his young mate running toward him. "Hello there dear." he said lightly as he kissed her nose lightly. "How are you this evening." he asked her. He felt sorry that he hadn't been about to see more often, as he got older he was introduced to more aspects of the pride.
"I am sorry I have been so absent Twana." he was still getting use to the idea of her name being something other then Twana. "What have you been up to darling?"

Hearing her name as it should be made her smile and blush more deeply. She was such a little girl when it came to being around Zuberi. "It's okay Zube." She sat, resting a moment from all the wandering she'd doen a little bit ago. She had been enjoying herself as much as she coudl but, was alwasy happiest with her mate. "Just been learning, trying to get used to this pack." She said honestly.

Strongear could see how happy Twana was with him near by, he hoped she would be happy in the pack, he had worried often about her. "So what have you had to say about this idea my dear, I was thinking of spending my night finding us a new home here in the pack. I think it has been long enough of you speeling in the forest, and I want to be able to see you more my dear." he hoped that she would be happy to hear this idea.... perhaps she would want to help find her new home.

She nearly jumped out of her own skin, giddy as all life itself. "I would LOVE to move in with you!" Her tail wagged roughly beating the ground and stirring up some foliage nearby. She smiled sweetly. "Have you seen any places you'd like for us?" She asked him.

"Not yet my dear" he answered quietly, "I haven't looked for very long yet though. Perhaps we can look together... and if we can't find one we like we will dig one ourselves." he smiled trying to make this idea sound fun, but well it might be a lot of work.
"What do you think darling, where should we look first, is there an area you have fallen in love with the most in the lands?" he was hoping her preferences would narrow their surches a little, as he wasn't sure what he was looking for.

Twana lowered her maw for a secodn taking a moment of thought, her mind was struck with memories of them when they were younger. "The forest.. could we be near the forest?" She wasn't thinking that the area was surrounded by forest.. she just wanted it to be somewhere she could be in a forest in less than a few minutes. It was her comfort zone.

Strongear smilied, he wasn't overly surprised when Twana asked to be near the forest, "Anything you want." he said as he walked towards the edges of the forest, he was pretty sure there was some empty dens out that way already dug, the den diggers had been hard at work lately as they were working hard to keep up the demands of their ever growing pack.
The first one they came to he ducked his head into and motioned for Twana to follow him in. As he stoof in the main part of the den he looked around taking it all in, it was a bit small for the family he imaged, but he turned to his mate and asked "What do you think my dear?"

Earthchild, Twana, decided champion of failing at making decisions looks at the den, duel colored eye's gazing about, she wanders in, it was rather large for the two of them but, the future was yet to come. She thought harder, if they were to grwo soon they'd need to move on but, she kept in mind that she was still very much young. :Here seems brilliant!" She hadn't completely made up her mind but, Zueb seemed okay with it adn so she woudl be too. At least for now.

"Do you think?" he asked sweetly moving close to her, he felt bad, he was aging before her in years, and he was beginning to feel urges that she had yet to even dream about, "What if we have children on day my dear, wouldn't we want to have more room, a den that would hold us all?" he hoped that he wasn't pushing her to hard, he just wanted to make sure they had things covered, and wouldn't have to move again once she got to this age to.
"Why don't we look at just a few more before we decide?" he asked as he headed back up and out of the den, and turned to the next one that wasn't too far away.

Childish in her ways yet she nodded quickly. She would practically agree to what he said no matter what. "Maybe you're right." She smiled and stepped free from the den. She immediately tried looking for a den again, she was trying hard now. She wanted him to be as happy as she was around him and she wasn't about to give into arguing about dens and such, thus playing agreeable. Besides she was his mate, if he thought it wasn't an appropriate size for the future than she figured he was probably right, she hadn't thought to thoroughly yet.

Strongear ducked into the next den, as he entered the main section he was much happier with the size, it was one of the larger dens in the pack, and it had room to spare. He looked around approvingly. This was it he thought to himself. He smiled and spun around to look at Twana, "Well my dear what do we think?" he asked his thoughts reading clear across is face. He hoped that she would fill the same way.

She figured it was a bit big, to big even. Well just for the two of them, it could fit prolly at least two or three families. But, he approved and she smiled. "It's perfect!" She says with glee, a new life. Even joining the pack was not a new life this moving in with him, was a special part of her stone in the road of life. "So much room.." She said, her smile still golden and eye's now roaming freely along the den walls. It certainly beat digging their own den, would take so long to do this and the work was fantastic.

Strongear smiled, happy that she approved, "It is really big I know but one day my dear we will fill it with our own family, it will be wonderful, after all not all families are as small as the one you came from." he smiled looking down at her. He turned quickly to go trhough the proper steps of marking the den as theirs so that the other dogs in the pack would know that htey had taken it as their home, and would leave it be.
Turning he smiled at his young mate, the urges that he felt were unbearable but he would never be like that with her, he knew she was much to young, their time would come he thought. He lied down peacefully and pulled her near to him "Come on my love, lets get some rest, the sun will be up soon and we shall enjoy our new home all day. Its may be large, but it is warm and dry." he smiled as he began to drift into a peacefull sleep, very proud of what he had accomplished for him and his mate today.
