Darkness Beckons

User Image

"I feel that something is about to begin; the skies grow ever darker.
The trees are restless and the Kits that are usually playful have gone into hiding.

I shall send out a calling, and hopefully a few Kits will be brave enough to defend the land where they grew up.
Those that are victorious will be most handsomely rewarded..."

Nix picks the nearest flower, and encloses it in her hands. When she opens them, it's petals have become a thousand twinkling lights.

"Bring me those that wake and wish to partake in the journey."

They fly from her palms and each zoom towards a sleeping Kitalpha, carrying this message:

--------------------

Darkness Beckons, will you come?

The peace of the homeland has been set astir by a force unknown.
It has been for quite some time, and I'm afraid we can wait no longer.
It grows ever stronger, the more we linger.

You are not required to take part, but darkness beckons, and will you come?

--------------------

Please respond to this prompt in a paragraph or two as your character waking up(?), receiving the message, and joining Nix. Maybe include some thoughts and feelings as to what is happening?

I need to know how many people are interested in participating before starting, thanks <3

Also make sure your RP Journal is set up before the Meta begins, otherwise you'll risk being dropped.
If you don't have a pet from this shop to RP as, just make up a character and set up a journal, and you'll be ready to go!

Any questions about the meta, see the meta FAQ thread before asking me.

Closing date: TBD.

Pet name: Koko -Koko's Journal

Liquid silver eyes opened to look at the flower petal of light that landed on a dark blue snout. Carefully sitting up to not dislodge the petal, the young Kitalpha studied the small light. With a careful hoof she took the petal of light and, knowing what to do, willed the message to play. The message played through her mind like a soft spoken radio and she listened intently. "I will do as you request." she said as the light started to fly away to lead her to Nix.

The journey to meet with the fairy took only a few hours and Koko easily kept pace with the flower petal of light. As the midnight blue Kitalpha stepped into the meadow she saw the fairy standing in the middle. Koko walked gracefully up to Nix, stopping five feet away and gave a short bow. "It is an honor to meet you and to help save my world." she said before sitting down to wait for the others to come.

Nadira
User Image

Snorting loudly, Nadira glared at the serene glowing petal while stamping her hoof, expressing her annoyance at being awoken. She was having a very pleasant dream, thank you very much, and no glowing plant should have torn her way from it. Pouting a bit, Nadira leaned closer to sniff at the offending piece of nature, nudging it with her nose. Her eyes widened immediately as the message played in the front of her mind, a voice calling out in askance to her kind. Glancing around the meadow she had fallen asleep in, she saw a few other glowing lights approaching her sibilings. None of them woke, however, ignoring the light by mumbling and turning over to another side. Returning her gaze to the floral light, Nadira began to get excited. This is a chance for me to show them all! She thought excitedly, an adventure just like those stories the elders keep telling!.

She noticed the light moving away before swaying towards her again, as if it wanted her to follow. Nadira's gaze automatically swept over to where her mother usually slept. She too was undisturbed by the lights, and Nadira already knew she would forbid any adventure anyways. Mommy's little girl was not supposed to even leave the meadow, after all. Nadira looked back to the light. Who cared if she was the runt of the pack? She had a lot to offer her kind! She'd be able to return to her family filled with stories and proove that she was not a china doll to be kept safe.

She started trotting after the light, but soon moved up to a gallop when the petal sped up. The wind blew in her face and Nadira once again acknowledged her love of running, it was exhilerating! Following the light, Nadira lost track of time, mainly because she had no knowledge of the area surrounding her. After a while, though, she saw another light in the distance. A fairy! Nadira thought in amazement as she slowed down. She spotted another Kitalpha like her, lieing down in the grass. She hurried to copy her, and gazed up at the fairy.

"I heard your message, ma'am (for her mother always taught her to be polite). I'd be honored to help. My family wasn't waking up to your lights, but I'm here!" The sentence was spoken very fast, and Nadira hoped it was the right thing to say. She had never met a fairy before, nevertheless one asking for her help against the darkness.

Ambrose

Ambrose opened his fiery red eyes quickly as he sensed a foreign object heading towards his way. His senses proved him right, indeed there was something headed straight for him. It was a delicate petal, which was strange for the place that he was currently residing in. Deducing that it must be a message from a fairy, the male focused his fiery red eyes on the object and leaped for it, delicately catching it within his mouth.

He put this small petal down on the grounds, and having done this multiple times before, he willed the fairies message to play. He listened to the fairies message carefully, memorizing it word for word just in case he would have to repeat it in front of the fairy when he got there.

"For my kind and land, I shall do what you request." Ambrose stated matter-of-factly, his eyes never straying from the petal. He would do anything for his kind, and if that meant sacrificing himself, he would. He was not afraid of dieing.

He let the petal fly a little ways before running after it, always keeping the same pace but at the same time. He knew that the petal would wait for him if he needed to go at a slower pace but it was better to get there as quickly as possible rather than having the petal waiting for him. Plus, he could handle running fast at a fast pace, that was what his training was for.

Getting closer to the fairies place, he noticed two others. Ambrose saddened a bit as he realized that the two like him were both female. Females shouldn't go to war, ever, only the men were supposed to.

"I received your message milady. I would be honored to help you with whatever you need. " Ambrose stated, giving a slight bow. He spoke these words calm and firm, he not being out of breath one bit.

Every fairy was different, but he knew in his heart that this was the right thing to say. He just hoped that she wouldn't be sending the females off to war.

Starlight

Star was woken, somewhat annoyed, by a soft noise near his head. It wasn't a buzzing noise, it was kind of like a soft, tinkling noise and he knew it was real and not part of some absurd dream he sometimes had. The message the light played was while Star was still in a slight sleep daze, but he heard it loud and clear. Well, not loudly, but he knew he had heard it and it wasn't just the whisperings of the wind. The message seemed to have stopped, for no more was said. After it had played, Starlight considered. Sure, it would bring adventures to come, stories to be told, all that exciting stuff. Plus a bit of time to think while being away from his adopter. So excitedly, he excepted the invitation.

Almost suddenly, the light started whirring and sped off, with Starlight tailing after it. He was led deeper and further into the forest, with only the small light to guide him. After some time of running, Star saw a small gathering of other Kitalphas and a faerie, whom he knew had sent the message. Hurrying over, as he knew where to go now, he stopped near the edge of the clearing and came at a slow trot over to the others. He dusted off his silvery pelt of dirt and other things that could be found in the forest. After all, he didn't want to look bad in front of the faerie. "Sorry I'm late."He spoke to the three Kitalphas and the faerie, although he wasn't sure if he had been late or if he had been early. Star turned to the faerie and bowed. "Thank you for inviting me on such a journey. It has been a pleasure to meet you, for I have never seen another faerie before."

Los

The night sky came alive with vibrant color: reds, oranges, pinks exploded into being and scattered their sparks across the sky. On the ground Los danced around a huge bonfire, humming along to the lively tune played by the fairies and their flutes. He danced along with them, loving the heat, the light and the music. He grinned to himself.

And then a thunderous boom was heard. He looked to the sky and saw his beloved fireworks warped into a swirling mass of flame above him. The fairies fled in fear, leaving him alone as the bonfire suddenly outed. From it's smoke a creature swirled into form before him, eyes glowing malevolently. It smirked at him before rushing toward him, opening it's mouth wide and swallowing him.

He shot awake, panting, eyes darting back and forth as he shook in fear. It took him some time to realize the horrifying vision was but a dream, and he calmed slightly. His breath slowed and his body stilled as he stood up fully, looking about him.

In the distance he saw what looked to be the smallest of red stars floating towards him. Once it reached him he saw it to be a faerie light. He nudged it and as soon as he did a message played in his mind. He was unsure of it's source, but it's intent was clear. A cry for help, a call to arms.

He would answer, and he would help.
