 It is closer towards the end of the day, and it is unseasonably nice out. There are clouds in the sky that promise the chance of a summer rain, and the temperature is especially nice. The wind is blowing and long grass is swaying gently in the wind. In said grass there is a herd of Antelope, grazing peacefully, contently, blissfully unaware that down wind, there stalks a lioness.
Yaretzi made her way slowly through the herd, trying to figure out which one was the weakest out of the bunch. She'd spent the whole of the day making her rounds through the demon pride, scouting out the area for any possible dangers and taking them down. Not that she'd found any today. But it was still always a work out to go the entire length of the outskirts of the pridelands.
She was hungry, but not hungry enough to try and take down the prime choice of the herd, she knew better than that. She lifted her nose, trying her best to keep her dark colors well concealed in the tall grass, and she began to sniff. One of them smelled of infection. She took another deep whiff, practically tasting the blood leaking from the Antelopes leg. It had been bitten once already but lived to get away. She smiled maliciously to herself as she moved slowly towards the scent. Her sounds and movement muffled by the soft padding of her paws.
Yaretzi's tail twitched behind her as she made her way around the herd, knowing it was childish to go straight through. She stuck low to the ground, practically crawling, until finally, she was certain, a few yards away from her, a short jog almost, was the antelope she would devour. She could practically taste it already.

Lurking nearby was the god of predators. He was extremely bored and without any better ideas, he resorted to his most favorite activity- hunting. He had no idea the group he was currently focusing on was claimed, though. He was lurking around the opposite end of the herd, ducked under the the grass-- realizing it was harder to hide himself now that he was so big, had a full mane and gigantic wings. He was working on testing his illusion abilities. It seemed to be working extremely well, keeping himself hidden from his prey.
Almost as if they were coordinating an attack, he leaped from his hiding spot, out into the herd- chasing the creatures in the direction of the lioness. He didn't aim to attack any particular antelope near him, he was happy just to run through. He set his sights on a rather large, strong one- a more challenging target, something he could approach because the wasted effort would not mean life or death for him.

Yaretzi hadn't been expecting it, when the herd suddenly came rushing towards her. Something had spooked them, something big. She could smell the fear, see in their eyes as they ran her way, nostrils flared. She got up, getting ready to evade any of them should they try to trample her, and let out a loud roar, intending to make them scatter, not really in the mood to be stampeded upon really. But when they kept coming towards her, hardly taking notice, she knew something was terribly wrong, so she turned tail and ran with them, she went a bit slower though, nipping at a few legs, until finally just leaping, soaring almost onto the back of a big buck, and pulling him down.
She knew he was going to try and kick at her, to get away by what ever means necessary so when they went down, she pushed her leg into it's back leg, bending it at an odd angle until it snapped. Effectively immobilizing it. All of this happening in moments, but her mind still on whatever it had been that had scared the herd so badly. She jumped from the buck as it hit the ground with a thud. It was letting out a blood curdling scream, she'd deal with that in a moment, for now. She stood, on all fours, raising her head above the grass, looking for whoever the b*****d was that had nearly gotten her trampled.

Uhai's attention was thrown off when he heard a roar and he realized that he wasn't here alone. He guessed, if the antelope had not noticed the source before, then he had found someone who was hunting. Or that was what he hoped, he always enjoyed watching hunters in action! If it wasn't too late, that was. His pace slowed and his eyes searched the fleeing crowd and then he saw her. She wasn't hard to pick out in the group of antelope, not at all. He stayed back until the antelope all fled and then watched as she took one down all by herself.
"Impressive," he commented loudly, walking up once her head poked back up and she looked around. He walked with his head held up high, his wings folded on his back and a toothy grin on his face. Even though her displeasure was clear in her expression.

Yaretzi pulled her lips back into a sneer, exposing all of her teeth as she heard the compliment, turning her head to look at the obviously male body that the voice had come from. All the while reprimanding, "Impressive? You could have just cost me a meal! What kind of an idiot-" And then she saw them, the wings on his back, how much bigger he looked, and her mouth hung slightly in an 'Oh s**t' sort of a look. She'd just yelled at a god. Well... atleast he didn't look as threatening as the god of her pride, the god of demons. Maybe he wasn't as deranged either... Not that she really wanted to find out.
She looked at him awkwardly, what were you supposed to do in a situation like this? She'd yet to come into contact with a god... were you supposed to apoliogize? She didn't really think that she would even if that might have been the smart thing to do. So, she took up a lesson she'd learned from another lion friend of hers, and tried to make a joke. "um..... You must be very good at hide and seek becuase I had no idea you were there...." She felt like a complete idiot for that one.

The god's expression didn't change when she sneered at him, not feeling particularly threatened by the mortal huntress. He was smart enough to give her her space, though. His grin widened a bit when she called him an idiot-- and the he chuckled when he spotted the wings and changed her behavior drastically.
"Well, the god of predators ought to be a good hunter, don't you think? You don't know I'm there, they don't know I'm there," he said, puffing up a bit and looking her over thoughtfully. Whatever her attitude was, it had been corrected when she realized who he was and he was actually impressed with her catch. So he didn't need to get too upset about it.
"I didn't realize you were there, either," he admitted, but he didn't drop his confident, almost arrogant tone, "I would certainly have stayed out of the way if I had, I enjoy seeing predators in action."

Well he wasn't angry with her; that was good at least... and he wasn't approaching her or showing any interest in her kill of the day- even better. But then she wondered how old he was,, if he was younger she'd be slightly upset that she were being so unnecessary courteous to him while he was still being arrogant. But how do you knock a god down to size when he's so much bigger than you?
"The god of predators?" She asked curiously; "Then why was it you weren't aware of my presence? Shouldn't your hunting skills be ten times greater than mine?" She didn't quite like the way he was looking at her; then again she didn't like when any male looked at her. "Or would that just make me your equal?" She asked her brow raised slightly.
