its not as hard as some people might let on it to be actualy.
the key to making a good paint job is to be carefull and paceient
NVR!!!!
Nvr's of painting:
NVR if your useing spray paint spray closer than 6 inches from whatever your painting, it will cause a big thick paint splotch that will likely drip and cause an ugly mess of things
NVR use duct tape as a substatute for painter's tape, it leaves residue thats VEEEERY hard to get off and usualy leaves marks.
NVR SPRAY HEAVY COATS OF PAINT IT WILL CAUSE RUNS AND DRIPS AND U RLLY DONT WANT TO BE LOOKIN AT THOSE + u have to sand them down AFTER they harden and paint the thing again to fix them.
NVR coat what your doing with to much paint at one time, it causes the under layers to cure wrong or not cure at all witch can cause the paint to crack or become damaged
ALWAYS pull the painter's tape off as soon as you are finished spraying NVR let it harden first because when u pull the tape off and the paint is hardened the paint may stick to the tape and u will pull a chunk out of ur paint job, tust me its happened to me, this goes for painting anything.
ALWAYS let the paint cure at liest for a few days before messing with PLZ HEED ME I MADE THAT MISTAKE AND PUT A FEW KINKS IN MY STRAT WHEN I WAS MOCKING IT Up so now there r a few red marks in my nice green-black paint
NVR touch it when its wet unless u want a perfect fingerprint smear in ur paint job
the only real experience i have in painting instruments is in the spray department so i can tell u a few tricks about that
i use regular off the shelf spray paint to great effect, no expencive spray gun and premixed paint hear just regular spray and a few simple tricks
A Simple Sunburst: Lay down a couple coats of your base color till you have the transparency you want.
when spraying your 2nd and 3rd colors in the begining hold the can a tad bit farther away to maximize seperation for a better transition
2nd layer start about 2 inches from the middle in extra light coat then make it fuller till you reach the edge, repeat with 3rd color if you zare going to use one
