Name: Camir
Age: 19 turns
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Unknown
Craft: Former Watchwher handler
Rank: Apprentice/candidate
History: Camir had a relatively normal upbringing in High Telgar Hold. He was raised the eldest of two sisters, but was the last to go off into his chosen craft (much to the disappointment of his parents). He had been on the wait list for a Wher egg for a very long time, and by some stroke of luck had managed to acquire one from the master handler in town at around 16 turns. He impressed a Wher and blood bonded to it- and was trained for some time before going up to Telgar to help out in the mines.
On his third run in Telgar mines, a dangerous explosion happened that killed his Wher and nearly took Camir's life. While lucky to survive, he did not do so unscathed, and after the accident he was left in a state of limbo. Refusing to return home to his failings, he stayed in the Weyr, recovering and craftless. When well enough to work he decided to try his hand at Candidacy.
Appearance: Body wise Camir is handsome in the way young men are handsome. He's tall and lithe, and hasn't filled out completely yet. While he's left the gangly stage, he is fairly wirey and full of sharp angles. His face is long and narrow, as is his nose.
His hair is thick, curly, and black. It reaches mid length down his shoulders, but Camir usually keeps it tied back in a simple queue. He has wide, expressive eyes that are the color of his hair.
The mining accident left him badly scarred on his face and hands. He has a large, numb patch of skin that stretches from ear to lip. It looks simply rough and uneven from where it healed; across his cheek is a long, thin line where a deep cut used to be, that trails from his jaw and up across the tip of his mouth. His left ear looks chewed upon, but his hair has grown back thick over it. Luckily, his eyes remain unscathed.
Camir's hands are gnarled, long and thin, and the nails are short and somewhat dubious in existence, at best. They could have been Harper's hands, but are too much abused now. He has varying degrees of feeling in each finger, and tends to be clumsy with them. There is a long, thin scar on the index of his palm from where he used his blood to bond to his former Wher.
Personality: In a word: stoic. While not naturally social to begin with, Camir's time as an apprentice handler down in the mines has made him all the more introverted. To handle Whers you had to be tough; to be tough, you had to have a strong handle on yourself. Through the nature of his training he's grown into a hard, apathetic young man that's not only physically strong, but mentally strong as well. The accident has made him realize that to survive, you have to be tenacious. You have to have focus absolutely on your work, and you have to work hard. And most important of all, if something needs to get done, you have to get it done no matter the costs involved. He slacked off and payed dearly, but feels he has a second chance at the Weyr.
He's a creature of habit, not prone to adventure or discovery of the new. He has little curiosity and prefers to stick to what he knows and understands. Camir has few opinions and even fewer virtues- he is not a knight in shining armor- he knows this, and accepts it, and keeps most thoughts to himself. While not exactly emotional to begin with, anything he does feel he cloisters away. His emotions tend to come out more in his eyes than his face does (his face rarely changes beyond small frowns or smirks).
When it comes to being social, Camir is sorely lacking. Because of this, he's not friends with many people in the Weyr, but it has yet to bother him in the slightest. He's yet to be romantically attracted or involved with anyone as well, because he's too invested in his goals to bother. Why bother with people when there are more important things to be had?
Other: - Camir likes wine. A lot. It's arguable if he becomes more or less social when drinking too much of it.
- Dislikes children with a passion.
