An open field, the sky dark with clouds as the rain poured down. Thunder boomed as Lightning flashed, lighting up the sky and the wind howled.

Kyo entered the field, in a matter of seconds he was soaked to the bone from the heavy rain. He stopped in the center of the field and looked up as a rumble of thunder was followed by a crash of lightning. he closed his eyes as the wind whipped around him. His face was calm and relaxed, though his body trembled with excitement.

Kasen walked into the area with a dark hood over his body and held his blade in his left hand. Light crashed and the winds howled as they followed him, as if they were wild beasts that needed taming. Kasen formed a small arrow in his hands that began to disperse with the rain almost destroying the arrow, however it was destroyed as Kasen clapped them together heating his hands and body as he looked around.
"It's time for another shikai user already... How time flies in this squad." Kasen thought to himself as he found someone in the center looking up at the sky. He sighed and walked toward him and shouted ,"Looking at the sky is going to help you?" Kasen said sarcastically and jokingly.

Kyo felt the change in the atmosphere as someone approached him. he opened his eyes and turned to face Kasen. "no..i suppose it wont, but storms like this help calm my soul." a smirk slid over his face as he realized why Kasen was here. "so you will be helping me attain my shikai? sounds like this will be fun." he said with a nod. i've been looking forward to another fight with Kasen. though i bet this one will be much harder than our first fight. he thought

"Its been far too long Kyo..." Kasen said as wind whipped at his hood and cloak which was becoming a disastrous storm in this singled out area. "I have to beat you into unconscious, so forgive me if I must use deadly force. I am stronger than what you last fought..." Kasen said as he raised his sheathed zanpakuto and placed it at his side and instead unsheathed a normal katana. "The storm cries out to us, so let us scream to the storm itself." Kasen said as he raised the blade and pointed it at Kyo.

Kyo noticed Kasen draw a normal katana. hes not going to use his zanpaktou? there's a reason for that...and i don't think its bodes well for me. he thought as he drew his own sword and took his stance. "Yes i can see that you have become alot stronger since our last fight, and i know what you must do in order to help me attain shikai. The storm will be the witness just as you shall be the judge, i shall do my best. I guess there's no need for pleasantries then huh? lets get started." he said, before charging at Kasen and bringing his sword up in a swift upward arc towards Kasen's chest.

Kasen grinned as he watched Kyo come forth with an uppercut, an excellent start for this battle as Kasen brought his sheath into his left hand as he stabbed downward with it to defend. The metal slid off each other as the sheath was meant to contain blades, not battle them. "Come, I said this battle could begin." Kasen said provoking his opponent as he slashed downward with the katana at Kyo's left shoulder and was moving at an angle where the blade was descend through the shoulder and chest if the attack struck.

Kyo brought his sword up to block Kasen's attack, as the blades clashed he swung his right foot out and aimed a kick at Kasen's stomach. Hopefully it would knock the wind out of him if it struck.

Kasen released the sword's grips on each other as he flew back slightly as he jumped, however the kick struck his left knee as he was jumping back. Kasen landed slightly on his right foot before placing his left down as he moved it up and down a bit to see it wasn't harmed much. "Hado #4, Byakurai!" Kasen shouted as he charged reiatsu in his left index finger as it suddenly became charged as a small spark of energy was coming forth. A burst of white energy erupted from the index finger as it sought out Kyo's body to pierce.

Kyo saw the burst of energy erupt from Kasen's finger and hurtle towards him, he threw himself sideways in a slightly awkward roll. he felt a stab of pain as the burst grazed his left shoulder before completing the roll and coming to his feet in an uncomfortable crouch. "Hado #4: Byakurai!" he shouted as a weaker version of the same attack flew from his own finger towards Kasen. He followed the attack with his body in a full charge, bringing his sword up at an angle to slash across Kasens left torso in case the Hado missed.

Kasen brought his blade up as he slashed downward t the weaker Kidō struck through and was cut straight through the electrical current. "Hadō #1, Shō!" Kasen took his sheath and placed at his side as he thrusted his left palm forward as it should send Kyo back at least enough to halt his attack before it could find a target to strike. Kasen moved his hand into his shihakushō as he pulled out a strange playing card. "Three of Spades." Kasen said as he revealed the card to be as he said, however the card was glowing black as a dark aura was rising from it. Kasen ran forward as he threw the card towards Kyo's chest.

Kyo was knocked back by the counter Hado. He was preparing to charge again when he saw the card. "What is that? definitely not a good sign." he thought as he ran through his options. "Hado #1 Sho!" he released the Hado in hopes that it would deflect the card, then threw himself into another ungraceful side roll while trying to keep his eyes on Kasen.

Kasen grinned as he snapped the card unfortunately touched the ground as it suddenly glowed fully black. "Boom." A whisper left Kasen's mouth as the card suddenly exploded releasing a dangerous burst of dark reiatsu, however the card had a low number and the power and destructive capabilities were kept to a minimum. However, the explosion should keep the body in pain if consumed into its darkness. "You do realize the dangers of obtaining shikai right? You could die." Kasen shouted as he waited for the explosion to subside as he looked at it patiently.

Kyo was barely able to dodge the explosion unscathed. "Wow, gotta make a point to watch out for those cards." he thought as he listened thoughtfully to Kasen's words. "I'm aware that i could die before ever achieving shikai, but its a risk I'm willing to take. It's a risk all Soul Reapers must make if they plan on becoming powerful members of the Seireitei." he said as he honed in on Kasen's location "Hado #4: Byakurai!" he shouted as another burst of energy shot from his fingertips in the direction of Kasen.

Kasen took his sheath as he raised its rubber tip to the lightning as he grinned at Kyo who apparently liked this particular Kidō a lot. Kasen ran towards him with his blade while his sheath was in the other as he was closing in on the gap between the two. Jumping upward as soon he was in range, Kasen brought down his katana towards Kyo's left shoulder, while his sheath was seeking to whack Kyo's right cheek. However, Kyo would soon see that Kasen's knees were coming closer as well as he brought his knees up to give Kyo a double-kneed strike to the face. This quintuple attack was to see if Kyo could handle such a thing, if not then he should be struck violently.
