She'd grown! She thought as she gazed at herself in the river, her father and step mother had brought the lot of them to the river for the day, it was a pleasure to be out and about, but as time went on, her siblings and steps had started heading back to the comfort of their parents.
And for once, Neph stayed behind, she was still in awe. Not quiet the biggest of the bunch, but she was fine with being more petite.
Chobi:
Moyo had not been among those going back to mingle with the rest of the family. The brown blue boy had also grown, a very athletic build showing signs he'd be a big lion when he was fully grown.
The juve had found a baby crocodile and managed to snap its neck with one clean crunch. Moyo had shown everyone but not Neph. He had to show her his handy work. Moyo had run up and down the river bank determined to find her to show her. His efforts had paid off seeing her look in to the river. Moyo happily padded up to her letting the baby crocodile dangle from his teeth.

Turning her head towards the sight of blues and browns mingled together, her gaze fell onto Moyo, she arched a brow at the sight of the baby croc before she rose to her paws.
"Did you kill it?" She asked, awe was clear in her vocals, her voice was showing signs of being soft and whisper like, even in her state of excitement.
Chobi:
Moyo gently laid the lifeless baby croc at the lionesses feet.
"Yep, snapped its neck and everything," He puffed his chest out pretty proud of what he had accomplished. "For you," He nuzzled it to her.
"So what are you up to all alone Neph?"

"Oh Moyo..That is awfully sweet of you." She couldn't help but purr now, she nudged the baby croc with her paw lightly, she was waiting for it to spring to life.
She stepped lightly around the dead creature, and nuzzled Moyo lightly. "Oh nothing, but making sure Im not dreaming and that I did get bigger."
Chobi:
Moyo couldn't help but smile, he had noticed that their clan was growing. How could he not when he was starting show signs of a sweet mane growing into place. Mashaka fluttered into mind as the boy wondered if his step brother had grown too. He frowned. Two of their siblings were now not with the family.
"You.. ever wander what happened to Mashaka..." He looked over at the river. "I .. hope he's grown too.."

Neph sighed, she had noticed the pair missing as well, but kept silent about it. "He most likely ran to our mother." She almost hissed the word mother. Neph did not like her birth mother, and therefore spoke very little, if nothing about her.
"But, I do hope hes alright." She mused a bit quietier than her accusation.
Chobi:
Moyo took a seat and nuzzled his forhead to hers when she hissed. He hadn't really understood the hiss but he figured it had something to do with the pair leaving.
"You never ever said anything about your mother before," The lion removed his forehead from hers and gave her a small smile.

She looked down at her paws now, wiggling her toes a bit as she sighed. "Why talk about someone who didnt and doesnt want you?" she sighed softly.
It was something that secretly got to her, whilist she loved her father with all of her little heart, and she did like her step mother a great deal...there was this sort of twang like pain, knowing that your own mother, choose others over you. Choose her other siblings over her, as if..she was defected.
Chobi:
The lion frowned and looked at his paws feeling bad he had asked, "I shouldn't have asked... I'm sorry Neph," He pawed her and offered up a friendly smile.
He felt his ears lower, the juve was sad for his step sister.

She pawed at his paw lightly, smiling at him. "There is no reason for you to be sorry Moyo. You didnt do anything wrong.." She nipped at one of his lowered ears, before pouncing away from him, and swatting at his tail. "Tell me about getting the croc Moyo.." She did enjoy a good story..specially about something she could never do.
Chobi:
The airs changed drastically and along with them, so did Moyo. His boasting smile was back on his maw and his eyes sparkled just a bit more.
"Well , " His eyes shifted from side to side, " I was stalking the mother, but she went into the river before I could pounce her. So I waited by the eggs. And the eggs hatched! All of them. There were so many little gators ! You shoulda seen! Any ways I Crouched down and pouched one. With ONE bite I broke its neck." He made a growling noise, "I'm a mighty hunter," He declared.

She lifted a paw, putting it on her chest as she listened, her eyes widened as she gasped out. "All of them!?" She shook her head.
"Moyo they coulda got you! Or their momma..." She was in a bit of a panic now, she brushed against his side. "Are you alright?" She blinked a bit, before laughing and giving a faint roll of her eyes at herself, she was such a worrywort. "Yes, you are!"
Chobi:
Moyo looked shocked and a little confused. Neph was worried about him. Sure , mother worried but none of his siblings ever did. Not like this.
"Im.. Fin-" He paused and laughed with her, "Wh-whats so funny?"

"Oh nothing.." She smiled, Neph worried that one day all her siblings were going to be gobbled up by things much bigger, and since Moyo seemed to be the most adventerous of the bunch, she worried even more for him, but for another unknown reason as well.
Chobi:
The boy stared at his sister for a moment with an amused smile. He never understood what went through Neph's mind but he knew he liked her the best of the siblings. She had always been there by his side and always cared for him.
Mashaka was gone and he would miss him and he would miss his other step sister, even though he never really got to know her. But Neph was still here. He was glad.

She pawed at his shoulder, "What should we do with the croc baby?" She asked him, her eyes staring at it now. It was so lifeless and yet, it looked as if it were still filled to the brim with life.
"Maybe I can have da' make something out of it and I can wear it..or..something." She looked to Moyo now with a smile. "I can't believe your so brave."
Chobi:
Moyo felt him self blush. "You think I'm brave?" He looked at her with his violet eyes a little amazed. Sure, Moyo thought he was brave, but no one had really come out and said it before.
"Ye-yeah! I think that you could get a cute necklace from its skully," He pawed it, " Why not save it for a snack for later," He purred and rubbed his head to hers.
And then he heard their names being called.
"Crap!" He looked at the now growingly distant figures, "Look like its time for us to go... Come on, you can walk with me on the way home," He pawed at her.

Her ears flattened as she turned her head from his and looked at the figures as well, she sighed. "I don't want to go yet.." She huffed a bit, and then felt bad. Her parents were only doing their bests for them, she shouldnt complain.
"Yes, I'll have da' turn it into a necklace." She beamed at him, she nodded. "I'd like to walk with you. And you'll have to share the snack with me when we get back." She shifted over, and scooped up the dead baby croc in her jowls, and walked up the bank. Together, they would walk him.
