Appearance Description
Nina stands an even 5'0", weighing approximately 125 lbs. Her eyes are as dark as night, her hair like burnt sand, her skin a golden tan from long days in the sun. Used to living in intense heat, she usually opts for light, breathable clothing such as wraparounds, not concerned with how much or little of her body is visible. All over her body are a total of nineteen tattoos done in black ink, one from each birthday plus one from her birth as per Sunaki tradition.
Personality
Quiet and withdrawn, Nina keeps mostly to herself, particularly now that everyone she knew growing up is dead. She tends to have a childish delight for the creatures around her, having a knack for getting along with beasts of all shapes and sizes, and often entertains herself with imaginings of fictitious creatures. She is very loyal to her superiors, as per her upbringing, and works hard at everything she pursues.
History
Nina grew up with the nomadic Sunaki, a small clan that lives in the deserts of the world, thriving off oases and the sparse life the desert manages to sustain. As per Sunaki tradition, she was taught to abide by a strict sense of community, loyalty, and humbleness, doing what she could to help the clan survive. Along with her peers, she slowly developed the sixth sense she was born with, learning how to sense and pinpoint different auras and essences. She worked hard for her clan, vigorously keeping to her studies and practicing the few shinobi arts the clan knew, passed down from generation to generation. This life would be put to a brutal end, however, when the small clan was attacked by a band of rogue ninja. Untrained in many of the traditional shinobi arts, the clan stood little chance against the skilled shinobi. While they miraculously managed to defeat each of the ninja, every Sunaki member had emerged from the scrabble very badly injured. They searched desperately for the next oases, but every day more and more of the clan died, if not from their wounds then from the resources the attack had destroyed. It wouldn't be long until Nina found herself holding her dying mother in her arms, watching helplessly as her spirit began to drift away. In a final ditch effort to save the last Sunaki clan member, her mother managed to pull together a small, bird-shaped body from the sand around them, storing her soul in the sand puppet to serve her daughter as a guide. This guide led her to Sunagakure, the village the Sunaki had left many, many generations in the past. Nina had thought it but a mythical place the Sunaki spoke of only in legend, but it was her final hope for survival. Having lost everything she once knew, she lives now determined to keep the Sunaki arts alive, if only within her.

Chunin - As development of the Sunaki's sixth sense continues, a Sunaki eventually is able to draw spirits into an object and bind them to that object until it is destroyed.
Jounin - As a Sunaki reaches the peak of their skill and ability, the Sunaki becomes able to divide a spirit to be placed into multiple objects and draw a spirit out of a creature or object, living or otherwise. However, the process of drawing out a spirit is extremely taxing on the Sunaki, and is therefore usually only done on creatures that are already well on their way towards death.
